Na, na. I merely mentioned the Chatterbox because some people have made parallels before. I avoid it like the plague; I wouldn't suggest such a frightening place to anyone unless they were doing somethat that is specified for there in the first place. whee

Personals was cool, when cybering was legal. Personals arn't coming back unless gaia has a 5 year block on new members to make sure everyone is 18ish.

Okay...really, it wasn't all cybering. You guys make it seem so horrible! It all wasn't bad. A lot of the people were just looking for friends..and seriously, some of the adds were freakin' HYSTERICAL! It's a shame that they took something that amusing down...even if it was being abused.

And no, I don't hang out in Chatterbox, if that question was asking me. I'm a Commerce and Extended Discussion whore twisted

A great deal of it was Cybering. Trying to keep it clean was taking up a great deal of time for moderators, time which is better spent on other tasks.

The personals will be back eventually, but there will be a few changes. It will not be the Personals that you knew.

And la la (XP edition)... Cybering was never acceptable. sweatdrop There just weren't written rules explicitly forbidding cybering in the early days.

Sadly it probably will. But I'm looking in an admins to-do list and its not in quite at the top now. With housing and the hello project etc.

Yes cybering wasn't ever "okay" but back in septemebr it was totally acceptible with the gaia populas with resulted in little to no reporting. Plus back then there where what 20 mods? the moderations staff back then was about as um...subpar much like today.

The Personals was actually moderator hell. If I ever felt sadistic or that I wasn't modding enough, all I had to do was go in there to clean out the boards. sweatdrop

I wouldn't say that "Oh yes, the Personals was a fun place until a couple of people messed it up for the rest of us". Personals was the cesspool of Gaia, the place where there are so many threads that catching every single offender is impossible, since more threads keep spawning. Three a minute. Five a minute. TEN a minute! They breed like roaches! And although there were decent threads in there, there was just too many 'roaches' to deal with (I laughed when you said "you guys make it seem so horrible) that the admins just closed it down.
