People of Gaia, prepare to swear allegiance to a new master! My undead minions have already overrun your cities. Some of you may be blessed with the eternal bliss of undeath, but many, many more of you shall become the slaves and cattle of your new vampiric masters. Be warned: resistance will lead only to your swift destruction.

Ready to join the epic battle between Gaians and Vampires? Step into our amazing Halloween event featuring tons of new event items, a new Gaia storyline comic, trick or treating and plenty of frenzied vampire combat.

- To turn into a vampire:
A) Post in the battleground forums. Your post makes you vulnerable to attacks!
B) When a post of yours is attacked 3 times, you lose a hit point.
C ) When you drop to 0 hit points, you'll begin to turn. Choose the "succumb" option to turn right away.
As the event begins, vampires are still scarce! It may be a while before their forces build to significant numbers. Later in the event, the Vampire and Human leaders may offer to turn you instantly to their side for a small fee.

Trick-or-Treating
Jack, the pumpkin-headed lord of Halloween, has decided not to get involved in all this vampire nastiness. He's declared Gaia Towns a "safe zone," so don't worry about being bitten or staked! The only thing you have to worry about is a stomach ache.
There are two ways to trick-or-treat on Gaia:
As usual, you can collect candy from the shopkeepers in Gaia Shops. Just visit each of the shopkeepers and pick up your sweets. Don't get too greedy: you can only trick-or-treat once per minute. When you've collected candy from everyone, you'll be given a Halloween goodie bag!
You can also trick-or-treat by hitting up houses in Gaia Towns. When you've collected enough sweets, find Jack in the graveyard at the center of town for some brand new Halloween items.
