i was just now thinking about the gaia personals. do any of you remember those? and i can completely see how and why they took them down, but i think its a shame, because i really used them when i first joined. i met alot of new people that i would never have before if it werent for the personals. I even got tips on how to get the ladies, and they worked....to a certain extent.

what im saying is, it had potential for alot of things, but was overrun by the bad.

I remember it...

I did meet a lot of new friends there...

But I am glad that they took it away...

There were to many people asking to cyber and things like that...

It was disturbing...

I just think Personals are unneeded, and they wouldn't fit in the direction Gaia is headed.

Gaia isn't a place to meet people romantically and 'date', with a few exceptions, of course. Some people have had serious relationships started on Gaia. 3nodding But it doesn't happen very often.

If you want a boyfriend or girlfriend, get off your arse and get one. :o

Anyways, new features like Towns and the Avatar Arena are good features as they are just part of the social interaction part of Gaia, at least somewhat. Heck, even Fishing and Slots had the multiplayer real time chat part implemented into them!

What I'm saying Gaia is mostly a community. Not a dating site. Sad for some of the horny 13 year olds, but true. :3

And also, internet sex is dumb. Like, uberly dumb. There's no point to it, and it can get you banned. Also, when you are just kidding around on Towns with friends or something, make sure some newb/n00b doesn't report you when you are casually squatting/standing. V_V

Edit: All the things you could do on the Personals I bet you could do in the forums. I mean, seriously, is it that hard to make friends with someone?

Same here. but I heard that by the time it was shut down I was the center of Gaia's cerrent problems. To many people were braking the rules all at once, and the Mods couldent keep up. At the begining it probably was a good place to go to meet someone, but after some time noobs took over and it was just an orgy forum. thats the problem when places get populer.

I liked the personals...they were funny.
Not just for hooking up with other people.
There was an underground shop there xDDDDDDd
Hacked items were sold there for really cheap.
I didn't take part in it myself, but it was funny to watch people freak out over OMGs and AFKs for 10g.

You see the little heart building in Barton?
That used to be the personals building, you could meet other people in there. You could post threads like "Girl looking for Boy, love relationship" or "Boy looking for Boy, friend relationship". And stuff. xD
It got closed down due to moderation troubles. People cybered in there like crazy.
