is there anyway to get a username that hasn't logged in
since the year of '69 apparently according to gaia?

i feel like i would buy an inactive username if i had to. >>;

Nope. The 1969 thing is a glitch.

If a username is taken, it's taken, and won't be stripped from an account unless it's deemed inappropriate (in which case you couldn't have it anyway). That's not something Gaia does as it stands.

There had been talk of stripping inactive accounts of their usernames but nothing ever came of that, and I believe the idea was scrapped.

No, you cannot use existing usernames, Gaia will not take them away from inactive or perma-banned users for re-use. You'll have to find a way to 'make it your own' by changing or adding something or else use something else.
