So many people seem to just be skipping over the "Child" part of "Child sexuality/innuendo". Alruna's has sexual innuendos, but not ones involving minors. That's where the difference lies and that's probably why the avatar got removed.

As for the mini comic, I didn't even know it was a reference about that. Mostly because I didn't know about the bear until like..2 days ago. I always thought it was a reference to Bears being carnivores, and the joke was that he was going to the vending machine for a meat snack.

You bring up a good point.

The other items I mentioned do NOT involve sexual themes with children, so there is a difference.
I'm not sure about the minicomic myself. sweatdrop

What I would like to see is the announcement where they said that any reference to '*****' was banned from the site.

There was no announcement you aren't going to find one. You can fine many people who were suspended (temp banned) for saying it though but they soon lifted the ban due to outrage. But no you aren't going to find an announcement but it's pretty much fact as it went on for a while before people got really pissed over it.

And Gaia shouldn't be banning all bear items. ***** is a very SPECIFIC looking brown bear, just because they made a bear doesn't mean it was "supposed" to be ***** bear. It's not just any bear. It can COSPLAY as ***** bear when used with a child or a description like the avatar that won, but alone it is NOT *****.

I still find this topic silly since the person who isn't even complaining, why do people constantly whine for others (like drunken style a while ago) when they aren't even bothered by it?

You bring up excellent points and they are quite similar to the ones I made about a page back. The bear items and sexual innuendo items here on Gaia are harmless on their own it's the way people choose to use them and potentially abuse them is when there are issues.

Weel, let me start by saying I'm not just 'whining' for someone else. This is more of a argument of principle, and I'm also worried about what this incident could lead to in the future.

I think if Gaia is going to ban people because of it, specifically because of the ***** symbol, they should mention it in an announcement. Especially for new users who might not count an internet meme as a serious violation of the TOS. I for one didn't realize that people were being banned because of *****, and I've been here apparently the entire time it was happening.

As I've said, I'm mostly afraid of the basic hypocrisy of taking down an entry when Gaia itself has made specific ***** references, even if they've taken such references down. I also think that it's extremely fishy that no one found a problem with the avatar until after it won. It's nearly impossible that the avatar wasn't reported soon enough that they could have removed it from the arena in time.

All this said, let me remind you that I'm not a close friend of the 3rd place winner, nor am I whining for them. I'm upset at the principle of the matter, and I don't want this incident to lead to further unfair actions from Gaia.

Again. I'm still not convinced that it was because of the sexual content but because of the fact that she was dressed up as a character from a story.
Seven pages, and you completely missed the "*****" part of the story?
Goldilocks twist cosplay... fine. Goldilocks twist cosplay implying ***** and coprophagia using a known Internet character, not fine.

To ask why it wasn't removed before winning. If Voters didn't have an issue with it during the voting, and no one reported it, then of course the Mods are not going to notice. Mods and Devs (likely) don't sweep the Arena to look at every entry; they don't have that kind of time. They depend on Gaians to do what is right.

The rules for the Arena are printed clearly.

No seven pages and I haven't seen any reason why it can't be the fact that it was cosplaying as a character from a book. You said it yourself it was a Goldilocks twist cosplay. A cosplay is a cosplay and cosplays belong in the cosplay arena.

People actually think that the entry was deleted because it was in the Originals? Seriously?

Cosplay that doesn't follow the original source, or has a twist to it, is often better in the Originals. Since it is the Submitters original take on a character/series. If I create a student from Hogwarts, and that person NEVER appeared in the story, then it is Original. Regardless of Harry Potter being an established series.

I wouldn't enter an entry like "Unicorn Naruto" in the Cosplay Arena. That is me changing the original source to what I want. It would fit better in the Original Arena.

I'm sure they just mentioned it to make sure I wasn't making assumptions. It's not like Gaia announced why they took the entry down, so for some, this topic is purely speculation. Though I agree with what you've said, and I firmly believe it was not a matter of being in the wrong arena.

The flaw in your theory is that the avatar isn't an original character from a series. It's a direct cosplay. There was nothing original about it. It was Goldilocks and a bear. No Original Character found there and yes entries have been delted because they were in the wrong arena. Why is it so hard to accept a simple solution than a harder one? 7 pages of debating on child abuse while there is a much simpler solution.

Mods don't remove Cosplay twist entries from the Original arena -even if they win, it's not a problem.
Entries that are not in the correct Arena, are moved not deleted. And they must be reported to be moved.

Deletion only happens if the rules are broken. And placing your entry in the wrong arena is not a cause for deletion, cause it is not a Rule.
Well, frist I see sexual into window avatars OUT of the area all the time.
What are they going to do ban them? Maybe they should, if there going to delete those kind of avatars in the area should'nt they ban the ones OUT of the area?
Warn them to change there avatars? Some thing along those lines?

Second, Why wasn't it deleted sooner? Sounds like they mods to check the area more often.

Third, if they don't want such things to happen or be made they shouldn't make such idems. Though I think that people are responsible for themselves. That bear idem was made first as a sexual into window was it not?
This is a PG 13 site, they don't let you have guns unless your at age do they? So why would 18+ idems be on a site where 13 year old kids are on? (and yonger, though they shoudn't be)
Maybe they should up the age adivery?

I don't think references to ***** should be a laughing matter, it's not a laughing matter for those who experience molestation, just as it isn't funny for those who experience rape.
But yet, it seems to be fine that people are allowed to say things like "HAHA You probably deserved it" or "sucked in slut" etc etc.
This sort of thing goes on far too much and far too little is done about it.
It's almost like we are trying to groom children into thinking that ***** and rape is OK when it really isn't.
While they should have taken the entry out before the ending of the contest, I think they may have been trying to make a very valid point, which is that ***** isn't and shouldn't be funny.

EDIT: A obvious statement was made by not removing the entry earlier, public displays are a great deterrent.

They give the person a warning, and they remove the entry. This is if the entry is REPORTED, by a Gaian(s).

Sexualizing your avatar isn't cause for a Ban. And most likely it is a Temp ban if you continue to do it on purpose, just to make a point. Mods "Reset" an avatar to its default clothing if someone is going against the TOS.

xxellaxpopexx
Second, Why wasn't it deleted sooner? Sounds like they mods to check the area more often.

Because people were voting on it, not reporting it. And if no one is Looking for such entries, they will have nothing to report. Do you understand now?

To me, it sounds like Gaians should report more often, instead of taking humor in rule breaking entries. Mods work by Reports, they rarely sweep the Forum or Arena. Plus with the Arena, there are over 3,000 entries in one week... you think a Mod is going to go through every last entry just to remove one?

As I said before, they depend on Gaians to do what is right, and report what they see as TOS breaking. There is nothing "fishy" about it, and such entries have been removed before; when they are reported.

Yes but, It's gaia's reasonability to take care of the site as well as the gaians.
If a Mod did go through 3,000 entrys then I'm sure they would end up removing more then one and a isusse like this whouldn't have happened in the first place.
People have diffrent sences of houmor, and some don't even know what's rule breaking or not.
It should be up to gaia and the gaians that know whats right to take up the
slack.
