Training. That was currently the only thing on Jacqueline Jack's mind. She had spent most the night attempting to perfect a new sword technique she had found in the last port town they had visited thanks to a brawl with a bar's patron. The crimson haired girl normally excelled at sword techniques of all kinds but this one was...different. It relied on brute strength, something foreign to the Captain. She was reliant on her speed and stamina, using it to tire out the opponent, defeating them swiftly and skillfully. Learning this new style was certainly going to be a task.

Just as Jack put herself in the starting stance her stomach let out a groan. "Wonder if we have anything left over from last night?" She questioned as the slung her sword over her shoulder, left her makeshift training room, and found her way to the ship's deck. The first thing that came into her gaze was the upcoming island and the second thing was the small vessel riding dangerously close to them, close enough to be canon fodder. "I see there is still a few who don't tremble in fear upon seeing the Jolly Roger of Neptune's Kin." Jack said to herself as she eyed the distance between the two ships. It appear to be jumpable, since the height of their ship served as a ledge of the sorts. As she was calculating the probability of her landing onto their ship from jumping off their own and even better, and more rational, idea came to mind. Jack darted towards the ship's wheel and once she finally got her hands on it she turned the wheel and began bridging the gap between the ships, a scare tactic that was certain to make the smaller vessel and it's crew keep its distance.

Bernard Alexander

Bernard suddenly noticed the larger ship beginning to veer towards him, he didn't particularly feel like a fight, but this crew seemed wanting to give him one. His ship may have been quite small, but speed happened to be a specialty, and at his current distance, maneuvering didn't even seem necessary and so, he gave a simple wave of his hand and the mysterious purple cloud began to stir suddenly, bringing him safely just ahead and still to the side of the larger ship as he eyed it for a moment before standing up and suddenly stepping right off of his watch post!

The be bird flew up slightly as the man fell, perching itself on the watch post, it's whistles turning somewhat agitated as it watched the ship. Anyone watching would have noticed that the man was falling rather slowly, almost floating really, his old marine coat with the markings crossed out billowing behind him before he landed quite gracefully behind the wheel of the ship, deeming that more movement might be necessary here, he turned his head back to watch the ship, still not exactly far away, just ahead now.he was considering putting a bit more distance to the side, but where was the fun in that?

"Hey up there! No need for the hostility! I think t would be a bit more comfortable for both of us if we just played nice!" He called rather loudly, fairly certain that someone up there would hear as he gave an elegant bow and tipped his plumed hat back towards the ship before returning his hands to the wheel.

Anastasia stared blankly at the currents, almost as if she was completely zoned out. Her little trance was broken as she spotted a ship in the corner of her eyes. She turned her head towards the ship, her eyebrows furrowing slightly. It was a marine ship - she was sure of that. For one thing it had the flag, and for another it was moving too quickly to be a pirate ship. Though what was rather peculiar about the ship, was the fact that there was a big, black "X" across the marine flag. She wasn't quite sure, but she assumed someone hijacked a marine ship. Which is what she was hoping - random pirates were easier the handle than marines.

Her gaze shifted from the marine ship to Noiz, who was now at her side. She gave a small smile at his comment, straightening up before speaking. "I think we're all a little bored. The trip to the next port as been way bland." She said, thankful they were coming so close to the next stop. Letting out a quiet laugh, she reached a hand out to lightly bat it against the doctor's side, "I just happened to wake up early today. Ahh, valid point, Noiz. We'd be in a bit of a predicament if I suddenly couldn't turn people to stone, wouldn't we?" Her Medusa-like abilities had gotten the crew out of quite a few tough situations, though everyone's different abilities had saved their butts before, so it wasn't too special.

She reached a hand out, pointing at the marine ship as it came closer to them. "Isn't that a peculiar ship? The marine flag was crossed out." She said, still slightly confused as to who was on such a ship. As the boat began to make a quicker turn towards the ship, Anastasia gripped onto the railing, turning her head back to scan for the captain. She spotted the woman a little bit away from the wheel, "Jackieeee!" She yelled across to the captain. She knew that she preferred Jack over anything, but adding the "ie" was her way of showing some affection for the captain. "Are we gonna jump the ship?" She yelled to Jack, hoping it was a yes. She was bored out of her mind, and jumping onto the "marine" ship sounded like fun.

Vincent was sitting on the railing of the ship just looking out at the ocean with a small smile on his face. He just hoped that today was going to be a peaceful one for he was in no mood to fight a bunch of prate trash. To Vincent any person who is against the law was trash and trash needed to be deposed of by any means necessary. Then slowly the white haired man looked up to the sky and gave a small sigh he had best get moving and see if there was anything that the higher up needed done, and if they don’t he was going to read a book or practice his sword play. So as the white haired male walked the ship he would scan the area around him with a calm cold face which made a few of the lower ranked members cringe just a bit. His boots made soft taping sounds as he walked on the wood of the ship, but he stopped when he caught word that some pirates as well as a traitor was heading to the island. This made Vincent scowl, perfect just how he wanted his day to play out dealing with pirate scum well there went his day of relaxation.

Still just to be safe he decided to find out if these words were true or nothing more than word vomit , and so he began to look for somebody of high rank to see if the word was true. If it was he wanted to know what they would like him to do to help deal with the pirate scum. Vincent would do anything that he was commanded to do and if that meant killing he would do it without question. Vincent always fallowed orders and would do anything to complete his mission and that was a fact. Then he started to wonder if any of these pirate scum have talent with sword play, and maybe they might even force him to draw his blade and the they could see how strong The White Devil of The Ocean truly was. Yet still fighting him will not be easy thanks to Moku Moku no Mi fruit he had eaten, and it truly was hard to fight smoke, but Vincent would only use that power if he was facing another devil fruit user.

Then after walking around for a bit longer he spotted Fleet Admiral Axel Phoenix, and so he made his way over to the tall man and once he reached the man he saluted him and stood at attention. “Fleet Admiral Phoenix, I have heard a word on the wind that a traitor and some pirates are heading for the island is this true, and if so what are your orders Sir,” Vincent asked in a chilling calm voice. The white haired man was ready for anything and was more than willing to do anything that it took to take down the pirates and the traitor even if that meant spilling blood. In his head Vincent was already thinking of plans of keeping the pirate scum and the traitor on the island so they could be dealt with and so they could be on their way. Vincent was in bad mood thanks to this rumor all he wanted to do was relax, read a book, or train but no thanks to the scum his plans have changed.

Vanzael Demont

Location: (The Undaunted) With: (Marines) Mood: (Determined)

Vanzael was aboard his personal flagship, which he had named 'The Undaunted' Currently on deck sparring with several soldiers, his coat draped over his shoulders in typical admiral style as he easily showed his superiority against his men, even without using his fruit, his anchor or is armor, he was a formidable opponent, his policy, and one that he made sure his men followed, was that one should always be prepared to fight powerless and weaponless, not only will it cause an individual to appreciate their advantages more, it would also render him a far more formidable opponent.

"A-admiral Demont?" Spoke a bespectacled marine that emerged from below decks, this particular man was in charge of communications on board the ship. The man smirked and dropped the Marine he had lifted above his head before raising his hand, signalling that they were finished for now as he followed the man below decks, where it was explained to him that a few rather big names seemed to be heading for the same destination before he thought quietly to himself for a few moments, from the names he was given, even assuming those were the only ones there, that still meant one logia type, and logias could certainly prove problematic, in addition, while he was quite adept at hunting down big names one at a time, he was already well aware that more than a handful could be troublesome. "Send word to my hunting ships, have any that are close enough to meet us on the way, and make sure that if they have a chance, they are to bring any of our heavy hitters that they can reach, it will take some time to reach that island, so we have plenty of time to prepare." He ordered before leaving the communications room with a smirk, moving back above deck where he immediately began barking orders to adjust their heading, this would prove interesting indeed, and if his men were capable of tracking down a few extra devil fruit users, or otherwise particularly skilled marines, he was quite confidant that they could clear several of the big pirate names off the board all at once.

It would seem that the marines want to play 'surgeon' with me after all!" There was a rather terrifying glint in Noiz's single violet eye, since the other one was clouded over making it more of a lavender color. His attention was drawn back to Anastasia, a light chuckle slipping past his lips. "I suppose we would..." The girl's ability often came in handy in tight situations. "It is a rather peculiar ship, though that doesn't matter. The fact that it is a marine ship means that it is a danger to the crew." Anything that was a danger to his Nakama, Noiz tended to have a firm opinion that they should be disposed of. Of course, it didn't mean that he had to actually kill the enemy, as that would be going against the promise he made to Gian. Though he could seperate limbs from the body without killing the person.

XXXXX Noiz's gaze narrowed at the 'marine' ship turn toward their own ship. Like Anastasia, he immediately scanned for the captain. While he did not like being issued orders, he was willing to listen to Jack in times like this. However a male's voice drew his attention away from Jack and over to the captain of the 'marine' ship. He immediately took in the marine coat that the man was wearing, and even though he had heard the other say there was no reason for hostility, Noiz's hand was on the hilt of Musashi. His other hand was poised in the position so that he could snap his fingers and activate 'Room' at any moment.

Hayden Flint
Vice Admiral

Flint's fleet was dispersed for the time being. Most were escorting merchant vessels or patrolling ports. Neptune's Kin were proving to be quite the problem. Even for a seasoned pirate hunter like Hayden, they were a terror and a liability. For that very reason, Flint took his flagship, The Heat Wave, to meet with a few other Marines to either make a plan for taking the seasoned buccaneers out or do it themselves. The word had it that a bunch of pirates and the Marines were duking it out over some island anyway. That was a good enough excuse for a nice big fight at sea.

Flint's ship situated itself near his superior's Undaunted, and he jumped from the railing of his flagship up to the larger battleship. As far as weapons went, Undaunted was a sight to see, but Flint had it on good authority that his flagship was the fastest in the Blue, which was good enough for him. He made his way to the Admiral, twirling his black cane as he went, his white coat flowing in the breeze. When he was close enough, he spared his superior a smile before making his way over to the large man. It seemed any person who outranked Flint was the size of a sailboat nowadays. Demont was certainly no exception, towering above Flint by about a foot. "Evening, Admiral. Vice Admiral Flint reporting for duty." Flint said with a grin, popping a cigarette between his lips and lighting the tip with a snap of his gloved fingers.

Vanzael noticed the Vice Admiral hop aboard and a smirk crossed his lips. "I wasn't expecting such powerful company so soon, but it is a welcome surprise... I'm not foolish enough to believe that a capture like this will be easy, so the more, the merrier." He spoke, quite enjoying the way things were shaping up so far.

He moved to stand next to his armor, which was currently standing up against a wall near one of the entryways to below decks and tapped his strong hand against the hulking metal suit, emblazoned with the colors of blue and white with the symbol of the marines proudly upon it's chest and back. "It will take some time to reach our destination, which means we have plenty of time to prepare and plan, did you bring anything with you, or do you have any problems with the details of the known targets?" He asked curiously, knowing the strengths and weaknesses of himself and his allies was always the most important first step for Vanzael.

The young swordsman yawned and leaned back, dropping onto the warm sand under her with a contented sigh. It was nice to simply lay there and stare up at the gorgeous clear blue sky. Most of all it was a welcome change from where she had been just a few days ago. The crew that she'd been sailing with most recently had been a disappointment in her eyes. A bunch of rough, loud-mouthed little fish pretending to be much more intimidating than they really were. She sighed and reached up to push some of her colorless white hair out of her face and half-closed her eyes against the glare of the sun. She hated their type more than anything else. Sometimes even more than she hated the Marines. She grinned to herself and shrugged to no one in particular. She'd put an end to her disappointment in the crew and 'politely' excused herself from their ship. Of course, she'd taken the remainder of her pay, her share of the treasure, and a souvenir or two of their journey together.

She snickered out loud and looked out at the sea. Of course, the tiny raft that she'd commandeered when she took her leave of the ship had barely lasted her the whole way to this island. Which left her with a rather pressing problem to sort out. She needed a new crew, and fast. Rumor had it that the Marines had been rather active in the area lately, and Kyte had no intentions of making an easy target out of herself. Her light blue gaze scanned the horizon listlessly for a while before she sat up. Well now! Here's a sight! Visible in the distance was a ship flying a jolly roger, and running alongside it looked like a hijacked marine vessel. She pulled her knees to her chest and watched for a while, trying to compare the jolly roger to those she had sailed with, or crews who had been rising to fame of late.

Jacqueline let her hands of the ship's wheel for a moment and moved towards the ship's railing to see if the other vessel had decided to keep its distance or if what was once a possible marine ship was now driftwood. To her surprise neither of the two had happened, instead the ship had pulled ahead of them a purple haze lingering around it. She should have just shot a cannon at the thing and got it over with. A male on the ship began to address them and Jack let out a chuckle. No hostility, huh? When it came to interactions between marines and pirates there was always hostility. No exceptions.

She shifted her attention to her crewmates upon hearing "Jackie", a playful variation of her name that she could only tolerate in small doses. It was certainly better than Jacqueline. "There only seems to be one person on the vessel so it would be a little much for all of us to jump over." Jack uttered in response to Anastasia's question before making her way towards the two. "One person will be sufficient to handle this... marine." She said, uncertain on what to qualify the male as, since his marine cloak led her to assume one thing and the flag bearing a crossed out marine symbol made her assume something different. "It would be best for Noiz to handle this." She suggested since Anastasia's devil fruit abilities weren't the greatest to use during times like this and her weapon of choice wasn't the greatest for close combat.

A soft laugh escaped Anastasia's lips as Noiz made a comment about playing 'surgeon' with the marines. She was fairly certain that he was the most sadistic doctor around, but she was rather fond of that aspect. The man certainly knew how to pick a person apart while keeping them living. It was gruesome, but quite a good form of torture. "That's true. It's probably best to handle this offensively." She spoke, still staring at the marine ship. It didn't take her too long to spot the man on the ship, and he seemed to be dressed as if he was a marine, which completely contradicted the flag.

Anastasia broke her concentration on the ship to look at Jack as she approached the two of them. She pursed her lips together slightly as she listened to the captain speak, nodding her head a little. She was a little bit bummed that she wouldn't get to jump the ship, though Jack's reasoning made perfect sense. Anastasia's size made her terrible in close combat, though she was an excellent fighter as long as she could keep some distance. She nodded her head slightly, looking back out to the man on the ship, staring at him as she spoke to Jack. "You're probably right. If need be, I'm sure I could land a couple hits on him from here...as long as that little ship doesn't get too far ahead..."

Reaching a hand up, she patted Noiz on the shoulder, "good luck, bud. Don't land in the water." She cooed, grinning up at the man. Of course she wasn't really worried about him landing in the water, all of them had jumped onto other ships so many times they were practically professionals.

Today was a nice day.... The locals were out and about, tending to their farms and animals, many were out with their spears out on the reefs doing their fishing and swiming as the sun rolled on through the sky. A nice bit of shade casted over the face of one relaxing individual, taking it easy as he brought a pipe to his lips, breathing in the island grown tobacco as it burned in the bowl of the pipe, blowing out a smoke ring as he lounged, a smile ever stretching across his lips as he lay without a care upon his work. The waves rolled on over the ocean, the gulls calling and making their hunt for fish, competing with the fishermen for the largest catch of the bountiful sea. This island was peaceful, no one fought here, except maybe the children over a disagreement. No marines, no pirates. The people were wself sufficient, and since this island was too small and too far out from any real established trade route, not many outsiders.

William Lark lounged comfortaly on the deck of the small dinghy he had finished only the day before, moored to the dock he had built for his small bussiness. He felt the tossing of the waves slightly, even in the shallows on this beach as the tide came in and out, threatening to take him out to sea and he'd neever know, aside from the line which held it. A freshly finished hat made of straw, fixed with a band of red cvloth to hold it together lay atop the head of the white haired man, keeping the sun out of his eyes as he leisurely smoked his pipe, something he did only when he was relaxing as such, smoking was a bad habit indeed, but it was perfect for those slow moments to just appreciate things.

Thinking on it though, he sighed as he lay in the very vessel which he made in response to his wanderings thoughts.. Being out on the sea was where he belonged, not settled on some outcast island from civilization. These people were friendly, taught him what they knew about the earth and the sea, how they made their boats and more. He took what he had known and became a shipwright of sorts for these people, his designs as he advanced them with what he was taught here, made excellent boats for speed. Now small 3 man finishing boats were spread around the island. But he had no desire to stay now. He had originally left that world because of his turmoil, here had settled that turmoil and found some semblance of purpose, but now he had his desire back, his drive to be on the sea. Adventure.

Hence the Dinghy he sat in. Made for one person, it was actually quite large. 3 main sails on his own patented folding mast design, plus a number of running sails, it had a small below deck area for food storage and safety from the elements as well as the sun, a anchor and other such amenities rarely found on such a vessel. It was designed to be as compact as possible for one person to travel extremely quickly on open sea, safely, and on long voyages. Hell it even had a small metal oven for cooking. However this dinghy would not be his permanent vessel. He wanted to join a crew, a good one, and then this would become the exploratory vessel he guessed.

Didn't much matter though if he spent all of his time relaxing like he did now. He had no way of knowing that his chance for a crew was fast approaching....

Hayden Flint
Vice Admiral

Flint exhaled smoke in rings and puffs, listening to his superior speak. When he tapped on his suit of armor Flint shook his head slightly. To Flint, it seemed as if that armor was a weakness to the Admiral. A user of a Devil Fruit like Mera Mera no Mi or Goro Goro no Mi could use that much metal against him, either roasting him alive inside his own armor or electrocuting him to death. The armor also seemed like it would hinder his own Devil Fruit ability. Typically, those who had consumed Bara Bara no Mi were tricky and quick. Demont was neither of those things. The man fought with amazing brute force. Was there any method to all these clashing styles? Flint certainly hoped so. When the Admiral was finished speaking, Flint replied.

"Pirates burn no matter their skill. My fleet is unfortunately spread rather thin right now, but I brought my flagship and my most capable crew. Neptune's Kin will not get away so easily this time." Flint said with a grin. He had full intention of burning their ship to cinders.

Despite the mans appearance, Vanzael was quite clever when it came to combat and tactics. "While your devil fruit powers are great, you'd be wise not to get over reliant, always have a back up plan." He spoke in such a way to not belittle the man, and he used a rather neutral tone, just as he did with his own soldiers.

He always preferred to make sure that his comrades did not overestimate themselves, he knew how costly relying on any one asset could be, especially when going up against a group like the one they would find, he himself was already running the scenario in his head, playing things out with his assets against their known assets, and possible unexpected circumstances that might present themselves, normally he would attempt to make contact with the marine force on the island in a case like this, and get them to scout ahead for him, but unfortunately, there were very few forces stationed in that area, as there was very rarely any reason for concern there.

She was leaned back in her chair, her feet kicked up onto her desk. Her large admiral coat was draped over the back of her chair, and she was flipping through different wanted posters. She was particularly paying attention to the posters for the Neptune's Kin members, as she'd received word they were headed this way. On a normal occasion, Fleur would have jumped at the chance to take down some pirates, especially since it'd up her chances at moving up a rank. However, she didn't hear word of the pirates soon enough, and it seemed that both the Admiral and the Vice Admiral had beat her to it. Going along with them would simply be overkill, and frankly, not as fun.

The woman let out a yawn as she dropped the papers down on her lap. She knew quite a lot about those pirates and their abilities. She was well-aware that underestimating them would be the cause of their loss, but she was confident that they wouldn't be a challenge for the Admiral and Vice Admiral. And if that theory was wrong, she'd just have to go save their butts. Which she wouldn't mind, more credit for her.
