Final Fantasy VII: A Hero Emerges

It has been two years since the events of Advent Children, two years since Cloud defeated Sephiroth and faced his inner demons, two years since the cure for Geostigma had been found. Peace has reutnred, and the wild monsters have begun to settle down as well, everything seems to be going very well, and Cloud and his friends can finally relax without a worry in the world. Unfortunately, this peace is about to be shattered by none other than the one winged angel himself...

Cloud soon received news that frightens him to his very core: Sephiroth has returned once again, and he is not alone, Kadaj, Loz and Yazoo have also reappeared alongside him. Suddenly, Aeris and Zack find themselves living among Cloud and his friends once more, the dead are returning back to life, and the reason behind this strange phenomenon is an even greater shocker: the Lifestream is falling apart. Apparently, due to Sephiroth’s mergence with the Lifestream it has become unstable and will continue to deteriorate, and unless Sephiroth is finished off once and for all, the Lifetstream will collapse and all life on Gaea will die.

As Cloud and the rest of the others, who have all gotten over the shock of the reappearance of Zack and Aeris, prepare to face Sephiroth once more, they come across another problem that comes in the form of a prophecy. According to the prophecy, while Sephiroth can be killed by anyone, as demonstrated by Cloud on several occasions, the death of Sephiroth would only be temporary as his spirit finds some way to reform his body. Furthermore, the only way for Sephiroth to be put down and never come back is if both his body and spirit are destroyed. However, only one individual has the power to kill Sephiroth in both body and spirit, a Chosen One who has been predetermined to be the one to end Sephiroth’s reign of terror.

What comes to haunt Cloud and the rest of his friends is the identity of Sephiroth’s would be killer: Sephiroth’s own secret apprentice. Professor Hojo apparently worked on something called Project Ultimate SOLDIER, where he created what he hoped to become the ultimate being, a monster just like Sephiroth himself, and whom would care less if the world burned. And to make matters worse, an extremist faction that claims to follow Sephiroth is chasing after the Chosen One, what their intentions are is a mystery to all but them, however it cannot be assumed that they want the Chosen One to kill Sephiroth.

Now Cloud, Tifa, Aeris, Zack, Barret, Vincent, Yuffie, Cid, Nanaki, and Cait Sith must find the Chosen One and complete the next-to-impossible task of convincing them, a heartless being with the blood of thousands on their hands, and whom could care less if Sephiroth destroyed all life on earth, into doing the right thing by killing his master. They will be aided by many unexpected allies and opposed by equally unexpected enemies, as they try to save the world yet again from utter destruction. Be prepared, for when a time of peril arises, a hero emerges.

2. I want you people to post in size 9 font as well as some unique color, I don't care if it makes your posts look smaller, but it also looks more elegant, and we want to show those terrorists we mean business, right? Oh sorry, getting off topic there...
3. You must post in third-person point of view, and no using ( ) or * * or some other stupid symbol to denote actions, you will type out actions or I will not allow you to participate. When your are speaking, you will use " " to denote speak, and when you are thinking, use ' ' to denote thoughts.
4. Romance is encouraged, but if you try cybering, I will be forced to take drastic measures, and you don't want to find out what those measures are.
5. Cursing is allowed, just don't make it into a habit, after all we not all like Barret or Cid, are we?
6. I want active RP'ers, that means I want a post at least once a day, that is unless you have some sort of situation which you will have to explain to me so that I will not have you booted. If you do not post after a while, I will investigate and possibly have your character killed off.
7. No godmodding or autohitting or whatever it is this kind of rule is supposed to be about.
8. I am the God of this RP, so I can do whatever the hell I want when it comes to bearing judgement on you or making changes. Anybody I appoint a moderator is a sort of demi-god and will have special privileges that I will make up later when I'm not so lazy. Fragment of Eternity is a limit break that commands the very elements of nature to go wild, and deals tremendous damage to many opponents, or gargantuan damage to a single opponent.

Background
History: Hateshi was destined to become the ultimate genetic experiment, a being that would grow and surpass all others that came before it, and all this was determined before his birth. Hateshi’s parents, when he was conceived, were scientists who worked under Hojo, who at the time was working on Project Ultimate SOLDIER. Project Ultimate SOLDIER was a classified work, meaning only those who worked on it knew of it’s existence, and this was sometime after Hojo’s work in the Jenova Project. Hojo’s work on Project Ultimate SOLDIER was based entirely on the discovery of a flaw in the Jenova Project. Sephiroth, the subject of the Jenova Project, became what he is by having his own cells fuse with the Jenova cells that were injected into Lucrecia’s uterus when she was carrying him.

However, despite that Jenova had the greatest amount of influence over Sephiroth than any other being that received Jenova cells, Sephiroth’s growth rate, which would seem off the charts, did not agree with Hojo’s original calculations and expectations. Hojo researched this phenomenon and learned a starling truth: injecting Jenova cells into Sephiroth and then having them fuse diluted Jenova’s overall influence over Sephiroth. In other words, the injection of Jenova cells into a being, no matter at what stage in their life, was an inefficient and crude method of attempting to create a Jenova hybrid.

After doing countless amounts of research, Hojo hypothesized that the best chance of creating a true Jenova hybrid was to work at the most basic level of life: DNA. To be precise, Hojo planned on injecting Jenova DNA into a single celled human, thus not diluting Jenova’s influence over the being at all. Hateshi’s parents offered to use their recently conceived child as Hojo’s specimen, but for what reasons remain unclear to this day. Hojo accepted the offering with grace and immediately had the single-celled Hateshi extracted from his mother, and then injected the single-celled Hateshi with Jenova DNA, before re-implanting Hateshi in his mother.

At around this time, Hojo was also working on a side project that he did not have a name for at the time, but it involved the recent discovery of three beings that rivaled the power of the WEAPONS, of which Hojo had named Gernia, Agathion, and Newdoria. Each of these three beings possessed cells that exhibited extremely unusual traits, traits that caught Hojo’s interest (for more info on them and the strange properties of their cells, read the post on Races). Hojo worked vigorously in an attempt to create a unique cell culture by creating cells that had the traits of G-cells, A-cells and N-cells, in other words creating a hybrid. His efforts were rewarded when he created a cell culture that was made up of cells that were one-third G-cell, one-third A-cell, and one-third N-cell. Hojo named this cell culture B.A.G.A.N., which stood for Biological Amalgamation of G-cells, A-cells, and N-cells. However, attempts to create a creature using these cells proved impossible, as the cells seemed to refuse to cooperate with each other in any way.

When Hojo learned of Lucrecia’s implantation of the Chaos gene and then the Protomateria into Vincent, he was astounded to say the least, and soon he came up with a brilliant idea: he would implant the B.A.G.A.N. gene into Hateshi, thus giving his other project ‘form’ in a sense. Hojo also expected something like B.A.G.A.N. attempting to take over Hateshi, which would succeed unless there was some sort of medium to prevent such an event from occurring, and thus had the Cryptomateria was created, which was designed to and was powerful enough to prevent B.A.G.A.N. from taking over his specimen.

When Hateshi was born, Hojo immediately injected the B.A.G.A.N. gene into Hateshi, and as expected B.A.G.A.N. began to try to take over Hateshi, so Hojo implanted the Cryptomateria into Hateshi and that stopped B.A.G.A.N. from taking over. Hojo then decided to take a gamble, and had Hateshi infused with such a large amount of raw Mako that it would kill even most SOLDIER’s with G-cells, however thanks to Jenova’s influence over Hateshi as well as the more powerful B.A.G.A.N. being part of Hateshi, he was able to survive. When asked why Hojo did this, he explained that the earlier a subject was exposed to raw Mako, the larger their Mana reserves would grow as they themselves grow older. Hojo also theorized that since Materia were created by condensing Mako Hateshi, who was infused with such a gargantuan amount of raw Mako would attain some properties of a Materia, and would be able to perform a feat that nobody would have ever thought possible: the ability to use magic without Materia.

Hojo then began to perform experiment after experiment on Hateshi, increasing and enhancing all of Hateshi’s physical attributes (yes, even that attribute, Hojo after all wanted a superior specimen) and altering him. The scientists of Project Ultimate SOLDIER began to see a drastic change in Hojo, especially when it concerned Hateshi. One odd behavior was that Hojo only took his experimentation of Hateshi so far, as he did not wish to stunt his growth or weaken him in any aspect whatsoever, almost as if Hojo expected Hateshi to be as perfect as possible. Those who knew Hojo understood that he might act this way since Hateshi was his masterpiece, the final culmination of all his efforts to create a being that he believed, in all his madness, could one day challenge a god.

By the time Hateshi turned 3, he showed more promise than any SOLDIER First Class ever did, in fact Hateshi showed even more potential than Sephiroth himself. While this can be explained by a lot of things, one of which was that Hateshi was a ‘superior’ hybrid than Sephiroth was, another of which was that he had B.A.G.A.N. while Sephiroth did not, and another reason was the way that he was raised. Hateshi was, of course, not raised like most children, however he was not also raised like a soldier like many others were including Sephiroth, in fact Hateshi was raised as a weapon, a being that existed for one purpose and only one purpose: death. Hateshi was taught that emotions were nothing more than a hindrance and would only serve to hold him back, and thus his emotions were all but erased from him.

By this time, the Jenova DNA in Hateshi gained enough influence over him to create a connection between his mind and that of Jenova’s, which came as a surprise to Hojo. Even more shocking, the cells of B.A.G.A.N. were able to manifest a consciousness inside Hateshi as well, making it two minds that existed in Hateshi. Hateshi’s intelligence skyrocketed as he would often be instructed by the two minds that coexisted within Hateshi, as they taught him so that he could realize his full potential.

As Hateshi turned 6, Hojo met with none other than Sephiroth himself and informed him of everything there was to know about Project Ultimate SOLDIER, about Hateshi, about B.A.G.A.N., about Jenova’s DNA, about the two minds that inhabited Hateshi, everything. Sephiroth was beyond intrigued, and wanted to see Hateshi in a battle, so Hojo set up a battle simulation for Hateshi. Sephiroth has this to say: “I watched the scene unfolding before me with a mixture of anticipation and surprise. The... child, for what else could I call the boy within the room, is a genius of a fighter, that much was for sure.

Never once in the simulation battle that I had witnessed, did the child show any sign of irritation, fear, excitement, or any other emotion that could disrupt one’s judgment. The boy fought with the precision and calculating pace of a SOLDIER First Class, and the mercilessness of a killer born. Each of his blows was designed to cause the maximum harm to the opponent, or to give himself the greatest advantage. Never once in the battle did the child give in to the battle lust I have known so well. This is not just a killer, I realized: this is a machine of war, an emotionless, unfeeling creature bred for destruction.”

So when Hojo requested that Sephiroth train Hateshi as his master, he was more than surprised when Sephiroth accepted the request. The first thing Sephiroth did was to take Hateshi to the forgery that contained Shin-Ra’s technology and all of the designs of the weapons that they used, and after which Sephiroth had Hateshi choose the model for his wepaon. Sephiroth was surprised when Hateshi chose a nodachi, even though it would have made training him easier since the nodachi was so similar to his own, when asked why he chose it, Hateshi responded, “Strength, speed, accuracy.” These few words showed Sephiroth the extent of just how far Hojo’s experimentation could go when he was allowed to have full reign over a powerful specimen.

Under Sephiroth’s tutelage, Hateshi truly began to become what he was designed to be: a harbinger of death. His rate of growth in terms of his skills and power astounded even the mighty Sephiroth, who had never been able to develop so well when he was his age. Hateshi also unlocked many abilities, the most surprising was one that Hojo actually predicted: Hateshi was able to use magic without the use of the materia, granted it exhausted him much more than it would with them but it was the principle that mattered. Another skill that Hateshi learned was the ability to use a perfect mixture of magic and his weapon, as most SOLDIER fought mostly using one of the two, Sephiroth himself preferred his nodachi over magic, however Hateshi was that one individual who could balance the use of magic and the use of his weapon.

By the time Hateshi was 8, the war with Wutai was well underway, and seeing the perfect opportunity to test his pupil, Sephiroth unleashed Hateshi upon the Wutai forces, and the results were beyond satisfying for the master swordsman. Many of the battles that Sephiroth was claimed to have won were in fact accomplished by Hateshi, however due to Hojo’s fear of what would happen if President Shinra learned of Hateshi’s existence, Hateshi’s accomplishments were named in Sephiroth’s honor, and only Hojo, Sephiroth, the SOLDIER’s that found under Hateshi, and Hateshi himself knew the truth. At the war’s end, Hateshi had slew thousands of Wutai warriors, and as peace began to settle Hateshi resumed his training under Sephiroth.

Some of those who knew of Hateshi’s relationship with Sephiroth believed that they shared a deep connection, and that Hateshi was the one thing that prevented Sephiroth from descending into madness. Where Hateshi was when Sephiroth lost his mind, nobody knows, although some recall Hateshi accompanying Sephiroth, Zack and Cloud on the mission to Nibelheim, only adding to the mystery of the Nibelheim incident. Hateshi was also believed to have had a sort of relationship with Zack and Cloud, who knew Hateshi before the Nibelheim incident, although apparently they don't remember him.

And many years have passed, and Hateshi, whereabouts are unknown, making the search for him beyond difficult, as the only person who knows Hateshi’s whereabouts at every exact moment is Hateshi himself. What his intentions are towards Sephiroth, if there are any intentions to begin with, are unknown as well, although those who know of Hateshi feel he holds no ill will towards his master.
Other: Hateshi has a pet Dark Dragon named Kuroi. How he has managed to tame such a large and dangerous creature is anyone’s guess.

Background
History: Llyud, does not really come from the same place as the others who are involved in all of this. In fact, he is not even supposed to be there. Llyud comes from a hidden sky continent, called Lemurés, that has been hidden away, and been protected by a barrier for thousands of years, in order to protect the Aegyl who lives there. They're a completely unknown race, as no one has seen one for as long as anyone can remember. They, have all, pretty much just lived their lives, completely isolated from the world below.

Being locked away in their own little "world", they began to refer to the world below as the "Underworld", and anyone from there are referred to as an "outsider". Of course, they have never actually had outsiders in Lemurés, as it's protected. But, there have been gaps in the barrier from time to time. But rarely, anyone have taken advantage of that to enter their hidden continent.

But, as for the latest gap, Llyud, who is quite a curios guy, has taken the risk to venture outside their protected home, for the sake of exploring the "Underworld". (Curiosity is a rare thing among the Aegyl, as they are mostly seemingly emotionless and socially withdrawn.) But, as he made it out of the barrier, protecting their home, he was caught up in a strong wind, blowing him far away from the area, and eventually, getting him completely lost. And to make matters worse, even as he did manage to land in the "Underworld" in one piece, he broke a wing, leaving him stranded in the large and unfamiliar world, with nowhere to go, and no clue of what to do. Seems as if his curios nature has gotten him into trouble once again.
Other: The Aegyl resemble Humes, except they have large wings on their back. These wings can come in different colours, from brown to red to black. These wings allow the Aegyl to fly with no problems. However, the strain they put on their body means they have the shortest life span of any race, only living for forty years.

History: Yuki has no recollection of her past, her earliest memory being that of her discovery. Some time before the incident of Genesis' escape, the body of a young girl was found floating in a pool of Mako during maintenance on the Nibleheim Mako reactor. Much to the surprise of Shin-Ra’s scientists, the girl was in perfect health. Because of this she became one of their test subjects until they discovered her physical capabilities were higher than even the average SOLDIER.

Yuki was immediately enlisted into the ranks of SOLDIER after which she swiftly rose through the ranks. Eventually she had attained the rank of SOLDIER second class. It was not long after that when the incident at Nibleheim occurred and her superior, whom she had grown attached to, went MIA. It was because of this that she too left the ranks of SOLIDER for good.

Human

This is your basic run-of-the-mill human, nothing very notable about them, and that’s not to say that they are boring, but rather there is nothing that sets them apart from any other intelligent race, apart from their bad habits and their prejudice against non-human sentients. They are the most common type of sentient being, inhabiting nearly every part of the known world. Humans are descendants of the Cetra who have lost the ability to commune with the planet. Almost all SOLDIER were humans that were injected with either Jenova Cells, G-cells, A-cells, or N-cells and then had an infusion of mako. Many genetic creations started out as humans, but as they were experimented on they lost most if not all their humanity.

Cetra

The Cetra, otherwise known as the Ancients were the beings that preceded humans, and in actuality humans descended from the Cetra, the difference being that while the Cetra retained their spiritual connection to Gaia, humans lost their connection to Gaia as they began to think selfishly. They were nearly made extinct when Jenova arrived on Gaia, however they managed to stop Jenova before Jenova destroyed all life on Gaia. Nowadays, very few of the Cetra remain alive, most of them separated by vast distances.

Seirekami

This is the race of beings that Nanaki and Seto both belong to. They are known for their high intelligence, their ability to speak, and their heightened senses, the first two you would not expect from them at first glance. They are known for having a strange flame at the end of their tail, although the significance of this is not understood.

SOLDIER

SOLDIER are elite warriors that served under Shin-Ra and fought in the war with Wutai. They aren’t a race per say, but they are classified as such because once they are infused with a certain type of cell and then given an infusion of Mako, they are considered only partially the race they once belonged to. Most of SOLDIER is composed of humans, although there are some non-human SOLDIER’s that existed within the program. SOLDIER’s are ranked as either First, Second, or Third-Class SOLDIER’s with First being the highest and Third being the lowest. SOLDIER’s are classified depending on what type of cells they are injected with.

Jenova Cells

Jenova was believed by the researchers at Shin-Ra to be a Cetra, although this was eventually proven false. Nevertheless, researchers began to use Jenova’s cells in experiments, and at one point they began infusing strong humans with Jenova cells, noticing that the Jenova cells negated the damaging effects of Mako to a certain extent, thus creating the concept of the original SOLDIER, where they were infused with Jenova cells and then had a Mako infusion. The injection of Jenova cells later on, in secret, soon fell out of style as with Hojo’s discovery of G-Cells, A-Cells, and N-Cells, Jenova cells seemed much more ‘tame.’ However, even after the discovery of these new types of cells, many SOLDIER’s were still injected with Jenova cells despite the stranger and more appealing affects of the other types of cells.

Hojo, while working on Project Ultimate SOLDIER, had another project that he didn’t bother naming for the benefit of secrecy, but it involved the recent discovery of three beings that rivaled the power of the WEAPONS. These three beings, which Hojo had named Gernia, Agathion, and Newdoria, possessed cells that exhibited extremely unusual traits, traits that caught Hojo’s interest.He attempted to have subjects that were going to be SOLDIER's be injected with one of these three new cells called G-Cells, A-Cells, or N-Cells. Most of those who were injected died, however the surviving few showed strange abilities that made them even more valuable SOLDIER's than the SOLDIER's injected with Jenova Cells.

G-Cells

The cells of Gernia, also called G-Cells exhibited strange abilities, the most notable of which was the resilience of the cells to survive the exposure of and absorb enormous amounts of raw Mako, which would kill even most beings that were injected with Jenova cells. Hojo hoped to use Gernia’s G-cells to create SOLDIERs that could be infused with even more raw Mako than SOLDIERs with Jenova cells, thus making more powerful magic users. However, many of the individuals who were injected with G-cells were killed by the exposure of such large amounts of raw Mako. It was discovered that only a few were able to successfully integrate the G-cells into themselves, due to the genetics of these few individuals, and were thus able to avoid dying.

A-Cells

The cells of Agathion, also called A-Cells also exhibited abnormal abilities, the most notable of which was the incredible properties of the cells. A-cells not only divided at a rate faster than the eye could track, but they also had the ability to transform into another type of cell, and they lived indefinitely. Hojo knew that SOLDIER’s with A-cells would not only be able to live without dying of natural causes or age past their prime, but they would also be able to not just heal but actually regenerate damage. However, most of the subjects who received A-cells died from an autoimmune disease where the body mistook the A-cells as invaders, and eventually began attacking their own cells since the A-cells could mimic other cells, and ended up killing themselves. In a manner similar to the G-cells, only a few individuals were genetically capable of fully integrating the A-cells into their system and thus avoided this fate.

N-Cells

The cells of Newdoria, also called N-cells as well exhibited bizarre abilities, the most notable of which was the actual strength and resistance of the cells, as demonstrated by the difficulty in being able to kill one of these cells. Hojo believed that SOLDIER’s with N-cells would be living tanks, being able to withstand and dish out large amounts of damage, laying waster to their enemies, which is more than most SOLDIER’s with Jenova cells could ever hope to accomplish. However, a large majority of those who were given N-cells were unable to handle the increased strength and damage resistance, often killing themselves by overstraining their bodies. Just like the G-cells and A-cells, only a few were genetically predisposed to integrate the N-cells properly into their bodies and thus avoiding death.

Limit Breaks: Terra Hex: a limit break that only works in places with out any thing covering the ground and strength depends on the location. He stabs his sword into the ground and causes six spears to shoot out of the ground. Solid dirt will create harder spears but soft soil creates softer ones.

Background
History: Origanly Taeyo was an orphan adopted by one of SOLDIER's training instructors but became an A-cell test subject against the instructor's wishes soon after. It came as a surprise that the A-cells didn't kill a skinny, undernourished kid. Seeing this the research team looked into his ancestry and found that he has a few Cetra ancestors and that might be why the A-cells didn't kill him.

He grew up around other cell test subjects and gained a competitive streak against them causing him to train in any way he could to out do them. While this was good his teachers felt his skills would be better suited for other area's. When he was 12 he started receiving training in medicine, scouting and survival with intent to make him a field medic capable of easily running about the battle field giving aid to the wounded. To help him better understand medicine he studied the physiology of other creatures which led him to a love of reading about people and creatures in various myths and legends.

When trouble started among the higher ups of SOLDIER his teachers took him to a base away from Midgar to continue training along with a few other test subjects. When the destruction of Midgar came his training was ended and he became a mercenary. Because of the way he was raised he never keeps more than he needs and any extra supplies are either sold or given away to those who want them. The only exception to this are candies and pastries due to a sweet tooth. On occasion he does work for the remnants of Shinra.

Other: Even though he could get to a location faster he doesn't like riding machines. If he can help it he'll walk or ride a Chocobo. When asked why he can never give a reason but some of his instructors believe it has to do with the small amount of Cetra blood in him. When drunk he becomes loud, emotional and affectionate towards women.
