the STORY


WE ALL KNOW THE STORY OF TRIS AND CHICAGO, BUT WHAT OF DETROIT? BEFORE THE FALL OF THE BUREAU THERE WAS ANOTHER CITY WHICH RIVALED THE SUCCESS OF THE CHICAGO EXPERIMENT - DETROIT. THE DIVERGENT POPULATION BEGAN TO INCREASE, THINGS BECAME BLEAKER, AND AS YOUNG ADULTS BEGAN TO CROSS THE LINES FROM FAMILY TO FACTION WITH INCREASING REGULARITY TENSIONS BEGAN TO RISE AS WELL. DEEP IN THE LAYERS OF FACTIONAL LEADERSHIP ATTEMPTS TO STOP THESE DISLOYAL THOUGHTS TOWARD FACTION BECAME INCREASINGLY DANGEROUS AND DARK. DIVERGENT ARE CONSIDERED NOT ONLY A PROBLEM, BUT THE PROBLEM; THEY ARE DANGEROUS AND CAUSE DISSENT. A SMALL GROUP OF YOUTH, DIVERGENT AND NOT, WILL HAVE TO FACE THE RISING STRIFE AND EVENTUALLY THE BUREAU'S ARRIVAL TO END THEIR EXPERIMENT.

DETROIT FACTION LOCATIONS

GRAND TOWER
Once known as the GM Renissance Tower, the Grand Tower is the home of the Dauntless. They survey and work in the large tower itself and live in a cement tunnel system underneath the complex, the outside buildings that surround G Tower and make up the rest of the complex are falling apart, some have training rooms but most have been 'abandoned'. The train's skyrails pass one of the buildings allowing for the ritual of jumping from the roof of choosing day.

'MANSION' DISTRICT
Just outside of the city gates lays the Amity faction. They have planted around the large abandoned mansion which they have restored to house many families per house. They have also built up greenhouses and cabins large enough for everyone to meet at once - which is often. The empty space between these buildings is filled with fields of crops and orchards.

WAYNE COMPLEX
Wayne complex is a collection of buildings that seem rather arbitrary, old brick mansions, square glass buildings, and a large library all make up the complex that is home to the Erudite faction. Once it was a University, now it is the only think tank of the city - or rather society. Statues of dancing girls and other items that serve little purpose can be found around in the overgrown grass patches throughout the complex.

GUARDIAN TOWER
Home of the black and white truth loving Candors, Guardian Tower towers deep in the center of the city. Blocking in shape, the inside is filled with cracked tiles whose once vibrant colors have faded into many ironic shades of gray. Most business with the Candor occurs in this tower or the surrounding areas.

ABNEGATION DISTRICT
Abnegation has set up shop in the small square houses just outside of the long abandoned industrial district. Square houses next to large plots of empty land and blacktops which are now often used to set up temporary shelters for those in need with holey tents and pavilions.

INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT
These old falling apart factories are a known location for the factionless.

OTHER LOCATIONS IN THE CITY

THE CIRCLE
This circle is now surrounded by a mural to represent all five factions, being restored over the generations as it fades. It is surrounded by a glass dome with doors on all 'sides'. And underneath the arch are where they set up the five bowls. Then there are the five factions spread around one side like a crescent moon. This is the location of the annual Choosing Ceremony.

THE HUB
The Central Train station of the city, this is where all trains pass through at some point in the day. Although they are mainly traveled by Dauntless, others have been known to be used for daily travel of all factions when on the tracks closest to the center of the city.

THE SCHOOL
This old hospital is now the school of the city, located fairly centrally in the city. All faction members attend until their Choosing Day when they are sixteen.

THE BALLROOM
Clearly this was once a very fancy place before everything went wrong with society. Hints still linger in this old Vanity Ballroom. It has become a hangout for the younger members of society when the adults aren't look.

THE BAY HOUSE
Other old hangout, although this was once a fancy boating club. Now the Dauntless use it for dares to swim out into the lake and slid into the empty pool. They have also been known to stage large capture the flag games in this area.

I RECOMMEND THAT YOU LOOK UP THE LOCATIONS - SOME OF THE PICTURES ARE PRETTY NEAT AND CAN ADD CHARACTER. ALSO IF YOU FIND SOMETHING YOU WANT ADDED - LET ME KNOW.
