The Battlestar Prometheus (BattleStar Galactica RP)

Story and Info

This will be a ongoing RP and will last as long as people stick with it

This Role Play is based on the new BattleStar Galactica series but takes place on another BattleStar named Prometheus but does not havet to follow the exact same story arc from the point after the war. BattleStar Solaria was destroyed in the atack on Coloniel fleet and the 12 colonies, the crew escaped to man BattleStar Prometheus and with 5 other civilian ships BattleStar Prometheus's new crew escaped destruction. We start our Role Play after the take over and destruction of Picon (one of the 12 colonies) and find our selves being chased around the galaxy by the Cylons who we know have done the same to all 12 planets includeing Caprica. The ships commander and crew now face some serious problems as they fight on to survive and keep what they believe are the last human survivors alive. Among the many hundreds of problems you are facing, you continue to be attacked by Cylon ships as they continue to find you where ever you may jump, you face food and water shortage and there is no room for failure as this is do or die time for the Human Race. We start our Role Play in no imediate danger but 4 days after escapeing the atack. To begin with I will want peoples characters to get situated befor anything major happens.

CIC - The Combat Information Center, or CIC, is the heart of a battlestar where all tactical and navigation operations are monitored and directed.

CIC is located deep within the forward section of the ship. There are three bulkhead exits that are closed during action

The Situations Room - The Situation Room is a tactical planning and strike operations center, located close to a battlestar's CIC.

The Situation Room has two functions: Monitoring and controlling large-scale operations which cannot be fully monitored or controlled from the CIC without interfering with shipboard operations, and providing a dedicated planning and briefing center for the development of and execution of special operations under the control of a battlestar.

The Situation Room comprises a large electronic map table that can be configured for a variety of uses, supported by a number of information-relay consoles. The walls of the Situation Room can be used to project images to assist in the planning of strike or other missions. Blackboards are available to create pilot rosters for missions.

Around a dozen personnel staff the Situation Room during an operation, in addition to any command staff that may be in attendance.

Sick Bay - Sickbay is the medical ward on the Battlestar Prometheus. The attending physician is Doctor Galen, who is assisted by a small medical staff.

Sickbay possess all the equipment of a basic hospital. Some of the equipment may seem dated due to Prometheus's status as one of the original battlestars of the Twelve Colonies, but it has everything that is needed to care for the wellbeing of the crew.

Pilots Ready Room - The pilot's ready room is used by the CAG for pre-flight briefings. It has several rows of chairs for pilots and a podium for the CAG. The roomsalso serve as a classroom for nuggets (pilots-in-training).

Hanger Deck - The hangar deck is where a battlestar's fighters and support ships, such as Vipers and Raptors, are stored and maintained between missions. It is located under the landing bay of each flight pod.

Astrometrics - Prometheus has an astrometrics area that is equipped with spectroscopic instruments, as well as optical and x-ray telescopes. These instruments are used in FTL navigation to acquire star fixes for jump computations, and to search for celestial objects that can be used as resources to keep the Fleet supplied with necessary goods such as food and water.

Crew Quarters - Crew quarters (or bunk rooms) are located throughout the ship. They are composed of several recessed bunks (or racks) for sleeping, and rows of lockers where individuals can store their personnel affects and uniforms. There is also a large table located in the center of the bunk room where crew members can socialize. Each bunk room holds up to ten individuals.

In addition to these bunk rooms, command level officers and VIP's are delegated their own private quarters of which only a limited number exist.

Fireing Range - The firing range is a facility on Prometheus that allows the crew to maintain their small arms proficiency.

Routine firing exercises are held for all crew members on the ship, including viper pilots, marines, and deck hands.

Armory - The armory plays a duel purpose on Prometheus: to store and guard small arms and ammunitions, and to create additional munitions as needed for combat situations (for both vipers and Prometheus's flak guns).

In addition to the armory, there are numerous small arms lockers located throughout the ship that can be accessed by authorized crew members in case of an emergency.

The Brig - A brig is a jail aboard a ship.

Prometheus has several brigs. One has several small cells with bunks for the priosners, and a desk on the outside where the marine guard can monitor detainees and manage visitors.
The second brig, used to house high security prisoners, has just one large cell.

Human Vehicles

BattleStar

A BattleStar is a Colonial capital ship that combines the functions of aircraft carrier and a battleship. The flight pods are mounted on either side of the hull and contain a battlestar's Vipers and Raptors. During normal operations, they are extended away from the main hull. During FTL jumps, the pods are retracted against the hull, concealing their open ends and making launches and landings impossible. Each pod comprises two main decks for flight operations: the upper landing bay, which extends the full length of the pod, and the lower launch bays, which provide some 40 launch tubes per pod.

Weapons wise a BattleStar has:
24 large antiship gun turrets
514 smaller point-defense turrets
Multiple nuclear warheads deployed from 12 launch tubes mounted in the main hull
At least 4 squadrons of 20 Viper space superiority fighters
Numerous Raptor multi-role vehicles

The BattleStar also servs as a home for most of its inhabitants with a place for almost anything onboard. From the pilots bunks or crew members quarters to a bar/club plus places to get food.

Mark II Viper

The Viper Mk II was originally introduced into Colonial service shortly before the outbreak of the Cylon War where it served with distinction throughout the war. It was subsequently retired and replaced with newer models. By the time of the renewed Cylon attack on the Twelve Colonies, the Mark VII was the standard front-line model

Mark VII Viper

The Viper is designed to operate in both space and atmospheric conditions.
In space flight, the Viper is highly maneuverable, dangerously so in inexperienced hands.
Being a single-seat craft, it mounts three forward-facing kinetic energy weapons (KEW). In addition, it possesses hard-points beneath the wings for mounting missiles, munitions pods and other ordnance

Raptor

The Raptor is a vehicle utilized by the Colonial military. While it is designed to perform multiple roles, the Raptor most commonly takes part in reconnaissance and scouting operations. The Raptor is usually operated by a crew of two and can also be used as transport for several people. Raptors are normally unarmed as they make for a poor general-purpose fighter but can make dangerouse support vehicles.

Cylon Vehicles

BaseStar

A basestar is the most prominent example of the Cylon military presence. The shape of the newer basestar reflects its name, with two Y-shaped hulls attached at their centers by a single pylon, the warship has a distinctive "star" shape. Basestars operate a fleet of small fighters, known as Raiders, and are capable of deploying hundreds of these ships simultaneously. A basestar is capable of launching conventional or nuclear missiles from 220 turret launchers mounted throughout the arms and central axis that pivot to allow the basestar to fire in any direction.

Raider

The Raider is the primary aerospace attack craft used by the Cylons against the peoples of the Twelve Colonies of Kobol. Though Raiders are self-aware, their intelligence level is less than that of a humanoid Cylon and more like a trained animal. Nonetheless, they are capable of independent thought and action, and can refuse to follow orders if they choose. It is armed with conventional and nuclear missiles carried in internal wing bays and two pairs of kinetic energy weapons of different calibers mounted under the leading edge of the wings. Curiously, the only times the Raiders have been seen using their missiles are during the Fall of the Twelve Colonies and the Battle of The Colony. This may indicate that Raiders are not normally armed with missiles.

Heavy Raider

A Heavy Raider is a Cylon dual purpose attack and transport spacecraft, nicknamed "turkey" by the Fleet's military units. The main armament of the Heavy Raider seems to consist of a barbette of six cannons mounted under the cockpit area of the vehicle. These cannons are capable of an extremely high rate of fire. The Heavy Raiders are also capable of launching missiles. It is also used to send boarding partys of Centurions.

Resurrection Ship

A Resurrection Ship is a large vessel specifically dedicated to the "resurrection" of humanoid Cylons who are killed. Normally, upon death, their consciousnesses are downloaded into new identical bodies on the Cylon homeworld, but for humanoid Cylons located farther and farther away from home - such as those hidden within the human refugee fleet - this is not possible, as the download range of a humanoid Cylon is limited. For this reason, when the Cylons began pursuing the Fleet, they incorporated a Resurrection Ship at the center of their pursuit force, to provide their agents with a fallback position; if they were killed, their consciousnesses could be downloaded to new bodies without concern. Without that ship, a killed Cylon would truly die, as their consciousnesses also would be cut off.

Centurion

This is not realy a vehicle but I thought I would include it anyway. The Cylon Centurion is a fully armored, metallic automaton that functions as the basic foot-soldier of the Cylon ground forces. Modern Centurions serve a variety of functions within the Cylon hierarchy, acting as guards, soldiers, executioners and even gardeners. "Bullethead", "clanker" and "chrome job" are common Colonial nicknames for these advanced and deadly Cylon constructs

5. This is a realistic Role Play and keeps to the Battle Star Galactica series lore so no superpowers or anything stupid.
6. Be as Literate as you can be so don't join if you will only be leaving one liners
7. Try to spell corectly but it isnt a big problem unless people cant understand you.
8. Only Join if you watched the series or have gained knowledge in another way about the series or are willing to at least learn as I want people to know what they are doing
9. And no general a** hatery

He is fair and tends listen to those under his command. A consummate professional, he does his job with little flash or ceremony and prefers to let his actions speak for him. His tall, dark stature and quiet, yet powerfully commanding presence are at both times comforting to those who follow him, and un-nerving to those who stand against him. He also has a strong competitive streak in him.

Bio: Jake comes from a familie with a long military history. His father always pushed him to better and to try harder. The result was that when he went to the military academy he was the top student. Especially when it came to combat tactics. When he graduated from the academy he served on various ships. Eventually he was sent to the solaria to serve as the X.O.. Unfortunatly during the destruction of the Solaria he sustained a head injury that knocked him out. Some crewmembers managed to drag him along and he's been in coma ever since. However... lately the doctors have noticed increasing brain activity. He was almost ready to wake up and serve again.

He went through pilot school with Alexie and followed her to her station. Though they are twins they live almost separate lives, he will defend his sister when necessary, he stays out of her business as he doesn't want to be associated with her fiery temper.

Bio: Rogue had a normal life for the most part. Everything changed when he turned 16. He was recruited by the Caprican navy and drilled to be a pilot. Because of his talent he was assigned to black-ops missions. He's actually on the Prometheus by sheer luck. He was watching it when the attack started and was dragged inside by the fleeing people. Once inside he reported to the admiral and told him who he was. He hasn't told anyone else and asked the admiral not to. All in all he's actually pretty high ranked but he doesn't make use of it. Black-ops are afterall a thing of the past with the colonies destroyed.
John layed asleep soundly as he dreamt of his home planet Picon, he could feel the sun on his skin and the breeze brushing up against him. John was walking down a path which led out to his house, John heard a noise and looked up to see missiles raining down on him and sudenly all around him was engulfed in flame.
"Ahhh" John woke up and lent forward quickly hiting his head on the bunk above him.
"Frak" John shouted out as he rubbed the top of his his head while breathing heavily with sweat driping off of him. John got up and lent over his bed with his head in his hands befor looking at a clock on the side.
Three mezely hours sleep
He thought to him self as he began to stand up.
All the other pilots where sleeping and John walked over to the shower area and towards a sink he then looked in the mirror befor runing the tap and splashing water in his face, he then grabed his toothbrush and began brushing his teeth. John finished by washing his mouth out begining to run the showers.
John turned off the shower and then dryed himself with a towel before starting to get dressed in his Uniform. He was going to be taking some of the pilots out on a test run today to test maneuverability and combat tactics, it had been tuff times for all and he knew everyone needed to expect the unexpected. John finished getting dressed by sticking his Captain pin through his collar and leveling it out.
Alexie tossed and turned in her bed all night long, sleep was eluding her, how did it come to this she contemplated as she stared at the darkened walls. She never really slept, to most that would have been a curse, but not to her, she didn't need to sleep much plenty of time to sleep while i'm dead
She decided to get up, she quietly rolled off of her bunk and tip-toed into the latrine so that she wouldn't wake the others as they slept, she flicked on the lights and started at herself in the mirror and decided it was time for a shower. Alexie pulled off her tank top and underwear and threw them onto the laundry pile then walked over to the shower and turned it on
John noticed Alexie walking into the showers.
"Nice and early Firefly" he says as he walks past her and towards all the Pilots bunks.
"Right Guys Get Up Lets Go" John started shouting as he claped his hands. All of a sudden the Pilots began wakeing up.
Alexie walked under the running water and let it rush down on her head, she closed her eyes and tilted her head back letting the water run down her body. She ran her finger s through her hair and proceeded to wash herself, she let the water clear her mind and she zoned out
John's voice jars Alexie out of her trance and she figured it was that time again, she turned off the water grabbed a towel and returned to her bunk, she walked over to her locker and pulled out her clothes. She pulled on her under clothes and then her uniform. she pulled her hair back into a bun and then put her boots on, before she acknowledged John "Ready" she said as she looked up at him
