Johanna had finally returned from her very lively lunch with two very lively people. Apparently, Haji calling Fran a friend was a good show of verbal irony. As it turned out, the young archeologist could hardly stand being anywhere close to the winged elf and made his objection quite clear. While she had felt guilty for aiding Haji into using social pressure to get them to join their table, she would be lying if she said she didn't find Fran's reactions quite funny. He seemed to have a very harsh attitude toward the fortune teller, but when he spoke to Johanna, he was quite pleasant. Again, this was a strange behavior she was still unused to. Generally one was not to actually voice their opinions of someone to their face, especially in public. Haji was able to keep his temper and was quite friendly, down right playful even. It made Fran come across as a childish and unruly to her, though she also didn't know the context of their interaction. Perhaps there was a history between them that had caused such a rift.
The dark haired mayor was once again in her elegant, yet functional, office where she continued her work. However, she could not keep her mind away from wandering back into her encounter with the beautiful male elf. It was difficult not to think of him. His piercing eyes was what really stuck in her head. They looked like the kind of eyes that could see into a person's soul, but were still gentle. She also liked his smile. He reminded her of a fox, or at least a fairy tale version of one. Lifting the pen from the paper, she stared at the hand he had read during lunch. She absentmindedly stared at the so-called 'romance line' Haji had told her. "Do I truly not desire romance?" She pondered, closing her fingers around her pen once more and returning to her work. Whether or not she wanted to spend more time thinking about the fortune teller and his readings, she still had last minute plans for the festival tomorrow that needed to be taken care of.
Hours passed her by in what seemed like minutes when she finally got her mind on her work. She was very efficient when she could put all her thoughts on one subject. She stacked the papers neatly in her 'OUT' box that the secretary could come pick up after work. She reclined back in her chair and found herself staring up at the white ceiling. No longer distracted by paperwork, her mind shifted completely to Haji and his beautiful face. Usually when someone as handsome as the elven fortune teller would actually give her the time of day, she would rationalize their actions as simply trying to get something out of her and so was hesitant. However, she didn't get that feeling now. Johanna was determined to believe that her interaction with Haji was for actual interest in one another.
"I want to see him again..." She thought smiling to herself as she continued to stare up. "Soon."
