Johanna had finally returned from her very lively lunch with two very lively people. Apparently, Haji calling Fran a friend was a good show of verbal irony. As it turned out, the young archeologist could hardly stand being anywhere close to the winged elf and made his objection quite clear. While she had felt guilty for aiding Haji into using social pressure to get them to join their table, she would be lying if she said she didn't find Fran's reactions quite funny. He seemed to have a very harsh attitude toward the fortune teller, but when he spoke to Johanna, he was quite pleasant. Again, this was a strange behavior she was still unused to. Generally one was not to actually voice their opinions of someone to their face, especially in public. Haji was able to keep his temper and was quite friendly, down right playful even. It made Fran come across as a childish and unruly to her, though she also didn't know the context of their interaction. Perhaps there was a history between them that had caused such a rift.

The dark haired mayor was once again in her elegant, yet functional, office where she continued her work. However, she could not keep her mind away from wandering back into her encounter with the beautiful male elf. It was difficult not to think of him. His piercing eyes was what really stuck in her head. They looked like the kind of eyes that could see into a person's soul, but were still gentle. She also liked his smile. He reminded her of a fox, or at least a fairy tale version of one. Lifting the pen from the paper, she stared at the hand he had read during lunch. She absentmindedly stared at the so-called 'romance line' Haji had told her. "Do I truly not desire romance?" She pondered, closing her fingers around her pen once more and returning to her work. Whether or not she wanted to spend more time thinking about the fortune teller and his readings, she still had last minute plans for the festival tomorrow that needed to be taken care of.

Hours passed her by in what seemed like minutes when she finally got her mind on her work. She was very efficient when she could put all her thoughts on one subject. She stacked the papers neatly in her 'OUT' box that the secretary could come pick up after work. She reclined back in her chair and found herself staring up at the white ceiling. No longer distracted by paperwork, her mind shifted completely to Haji and his beautiful face. Usually when someone as handsome as the elven fortune teller would actually give her the time of day, she would rationalize their actions as simply trying to get something out of her and so was hesitant. However, she didn't get that feeling now. Johanna was determined to believe that her interaction with Haji was for actual interest in one another.

"I want to see him again..." She thought smiling to herself as she continued to stare up. "Soon."

Lucien had to bite his tongue when the wench purposely ignored his warning. He was a bloody archdemon! His words struck fear into the very hearts of creatures that crossed him...Sadly his threats were completely hollow in this form. The fact that Anya was rubbing in this fact was not helping his mood. He didn't like reminders on how far he had fallen from grace, his shadow linked it's fingers with his own as they waited. Lucien glared at the carefree entity, then at Anya who was chittering about cookbooks to the silly witch. The demon fumed just feet from the wench, he even felt dizzy, gripping his shadow's hand for support. It steadied him with little effort and tilted it's head in a silent question.

Lucy glared and shook his head. Finally Anya turned to them. Claiming her request was merely a suggestion, as if that would redeem her foolish decisions. "I may look like a child, but I do not require a nap time!" He snapped, his face felt hot, the very thought of Anya deeming a nap necessary was infuriating and insulting. He turned on his shadow next, it knew it was coming yet didn't even flinch, "And you! A suggestion is not an order! You needn't heed anyone but me, you dolt!" It shrugged it's shoulders and skipped up to Anya. Hugging her around the waist. Lucien stormed off to his aisle to work. He was royally pissed off, and Anya was refusing to acknowledge it. He gripped the bookshelf as another dizzy spell hit him, his shadow skipped around the corner to help him work. It paused as it noticed it's masters strange behavior, crossing it's arms it began tapping it's toe. It's way of demanding an explanation. Lucien looked at it and growled, "It's likely nothing...I did stay up stargazing most of last night. You were there. Now pass me the 'h' books." He grumbled. The shadow shook it's head as it went to do as asked. Lucien proceeded to mold the bookshelf's shadow into a step stool. He never required a step ladder, not that he could carry it over. His natural ability would work out nicely. It probably only worked so well because his ability was rather advanced when he was actually this size. One of the very few silver linings of his situation.

Instead of feeling better, he was starting to feel worse as the day progressed. Most of his energy was put forth hiding this fact from Anya and his boss. His shadow did most of the work, as Lucy leaned heavily on the library cart. Soon the day was done, it seemed to drag on and on, he had even transformed. Which didn't help at all, the experience was terribly disorienting on a good day. Lucien had stumbled back and knocked over his whole cart as the curse's hold loosened. Sitting in the pile of books he looked up to see his shadow crouching before him. An inky hand went up to Lucien's forehead, "Yes alright, so it may be a little more than sleep deprivation..." he put his own hand to his head, he did feel pretty warm. Which was not good, demons didn't get ill on a regular basis. He looked up as he heard Anya leave without him. "Clean this for me?" His shadow's arms split into eight arm like appendages, making quick work of the mess of books before helping his master to his feet. Lucien managed to walk out of the library with little trouble, managing a grumbling departure to his boss lady who waited by the door to lock up.

The cool evening air felt like ice to the feverish demon, with much cursing and stumbling he somehow made it home. Slipping past the witches bedroom and into his own. Anya was holed up once more, for once it worked in his favor. He refused to let the witch know how weak he was...He slipped into his own room and slipped on his favorite shirt, the one he traveled with, the large zippered collar and long sleeves...it used to be enchanted to keep his body temperature just right, but the curse stripped the cloth of it's handy tricks when it sealed away his form. He sat in his room and tried to make out what ailed him. Which was rather difficult considering his dizzy spells and rising temperature...

His head snapped up when noise from the kitchen caught his attention. Had he fallen asleep? He got up with some difficulty and shuffled down the hallway, using the wall as support. His shadow morphed into the shape of of anya. An inky featureless anya with a ruffled apron to match. Soundlessly skipping into the kitchen. The food smelled great, though Lucien had little appetite he was very thirsty. He felt overheated, he took a breath and slipped into the kitchen, securing a chair before he could stumble. What he didn't realize was his face was flushed, he leaned his chin on his hands as he watched his shadow tap Anya. He smiled as he awaited her surprise... his head tilted as weariness washed over him. I'm thirsty...

tab Mitsue kept eating scoops of the fish head soup as she listened to Aquarius talk. "Ah, I see." Mitsue said in reply to Aquarius talking about his life back with his family. It seemed like such a stifling place to her, but all that strictness was probably in place to protect the merpeople, however oppressive the society seemed to her. Mitsue continued to finish her bowl of soup as she thought about all Aquarius has said. Glancing around, she watched as Cocoa wrestled with the fish skull, a small smile grew on her face. The lull in conversation was nice, both Mitsue and Aquarius, who had gotten himself a bowl of fish head soup, were simply enjoying their meal without much distraction.

tab Getting up from her seat when she finished her bowl of soup, Mitsue took her wallet out to pay for the meal. "I hear from the villagers, tomorrow is the Foliage Festival. Maybe I'll see you there." Mitsue said to Aquarius with a grin and a hand full of money. Afer handing it to him, she turned and went to the chair to pick up her scarf. Winding it around her neck once, Mitsue walked to the door, and when she reached it, she turned and waved bye to Aquarius and Cocoa. "Thank you for the wonderful meal and company. I hope to come in again soon!"

tab Mitsue had closed her shop at 5 pm, the last customer had picked up her order a little before closing time, and Mitsue was now in the back of the store cleaning the greenhouse. After returning from the hour or so long lunch break, Mitsue finished planting all the seeds she wanted. Only returning to the front of the shop when a customer can to pick up their order. During the rest of the time the newly planted seeds were checked up on, and while there wouldn't be results just yet, Mitsue was hoping the plants would flourish. When she finished, she went to the front of the store, tallied up her day's revenue, and wrote them into her books, keeping a handle on her accounts was just good sense. Now that she was finished with planting and accounting for the money she earned, Mitsue decided to get clean before thinking whether or not to eat out once again.

tab Since moving into the town, Mitsue hasn't left her shop for long, except to buy some food or to go eat at the restaurant in town. There had just been too much to do, between moving all her items into her rooms, unpacking, fixing the shop up, and fulfilling her customer's orders. Going upstairs to her room, she grabbed some clean clothing and got her bath ready. As she filled the bathtub with warm water, Mitsue thought about her past few weeks in town. Short of a handful of people, she hadn't talked to many of the towns people, and now that she was all settled inside her home, Mitsue felt a bit more free to go out and meet others.

tab Mitsue relaxed into her lovely hot bath and decided she would visit some of the other shops and businesses soon. Maybe she'll go eat breakfast at the inn or take a bath at the bathhouse, for sure she'll need to pick up a book or two from the library to read during the down times in the shop. There wasn't much to do when waiting for orders to be picked up. And maybe she'll go to the shrine to give thanks to the Harvest Goddess for this town and the opportunities set in front of her. Mitsue scrubbed herself clean and after drying herself, dressed in one of her long sleeved shirts and a pair of long skinny jeans.

tab Thinking of going to eat at the restaurant, Mitsue grabbed her blue scarf, looped it around her neck and left her home, only pausing to lock it. Walking to the restaurant was a path she was familiar with now, often too tired to cook herself a meal, Mitsue would trek over to the restaurant and order something to eat. Reaching the restaurant, Mitsue looked curiously at the lack of customers. 'Hmm, is the restaurant is closed?', Mitsue thought as she peered into the restaurant from the window. Taking a glance at the sign on the side of the door and her watch, she realized with a tiny frown, "Ah, that's right. It's 8 pm already." A grumble came from her stomach, as if it was protesting the fact that there would be a delay in it receiving food.

███ ` LOCAL FORTUNE TELLER
Link | Town Hall | Johanna | Content

The rest of the day seemed dull in comparison to that afternoon he'd shared with Johanna and Fran. The young archaeologist seemed to grow more angry with him, which only fueled the elf's lust for tormenting the poor boy, but did so discretely. Johanna seemed to catch on to the fact that Haji and Fran didn't actually seem to get along, but whether she cared that the elf was teasing the other male wasn't clear. Haji would of enjoyed her intervening as any point, any reason to tease the mayor as well was welcomed. She was such a calm, collected person, Haji desired to break that wall of calm she had up.

Lunch didn't last to long after Fran had joined, to the elf's disappointment, but everyone had a place to be, and a job to do. The mayor especially was probably a very busy women, Haji made sure to walk her the the inn's main entrance/ exit, the two parted with a promise to meet again later for dinner; Haji had apparently sparked an interest in the mayor. After she had left Haji had gone back up to his room, there were already people waiting at his door when the fortune teller returned, regular customers, as anyone who came to see him knew they could only come in when invited; people who felt they had a right to just waltz into his his domain were turned away.

Haji put more care into the afternoon fortunes, he was now running on a full belly, and he was in a good mood; he explained in great detail to his visitors all that he say, what everything meant, and even what item to carry on their person as a "lucky item". In time it had grown dark out, though it being fall just meant it would grow dark out sooner than in the summer ,still Haji saw to his last visitor, then promptly locked his door, a signal for everyone else to go home, they'd just have to try again tomorrow. With time to spare the elf began to make himself presentable for his "date". After dressing, and selecting a coat he hoped would keep him warm the elf left, not making for the town hall at first, he went to the flower shop, taking careful consideration what he selected. In the end Haji purchased a dozen light, peachy colored dahlias surrounded by little while baby's breath. Dahlia's had always been a symbol of elegance and dignity while baby's breath was a symbol of innocence, Haji felt that explained the mayor pretty well.

The elf made his payment to the owner of the flower shop just before closing time for her, and hastily walked to town hall; the cold was starting to bother him. At town hall Haji found a young secretary working at the front of the building, "Pardon might you tell me where Mayor Johanna's office is?" The secretary was taken back by the tall elf, but managed to stammer out some directions for him. Haji headed down that way, stopping at an impressive looking door, the elf lifted his arm and knocked three times in an even pressure on the door.

███ ` LOCAL LIBRARIAN
Link | Home | Lucien and Shadow | Worried

Anya hadn't heard Lucien and his shadow until they were in the kitchen already, moving things around. Anya kept her back to him, if he wasn't going to say anything, then neither would she, call it being stubborn, but the normally docile and shy girl couldn't help but be annoyed with the demon that kept constantly blaming her for what happened to him. In the back of her head Anya did believe her behavior to be childish, and there were times when she'd just let Lucien say whatever he wanted without getting upset, or running off, though after a while it had started feeling like she was back at school, being bullied daily by her peers, for being different, and being interested in strange things; Anya had run away from that place, and she was starting to do the same here. The only thing that kept her from abandoning Lucien were the facts that she'd made a promise to help break the curse she'd accidentally put on him, and she actually really loved her home here in town, she didn't think she'd ever find another place so wonderful, and accepting again. Lucien could be a decent person sometimes too, she'd seen so, but only with other people; Anya sometimes wondered if he'd act more pleasantly towards her if she did manage to break the curse.

Curse aside, Anya cleared her mind of it in order to check on her lasagna, it was cooking nicely; it was then that she felt a tap on her shoulders. There was a different feeling that came when Shadow touched her, it didn't feel like human skin, though it didn't bother her; just indicated that it was Lucien's shadow that was trying to get her attention, and not the demon himself. It took a great deal of effort for the girl to smile, though she genuinely enjoyed the company of the shadow, her smile quickly faded when she turned around, and saw Lucien almost slumped over where he was sitting. The demon had a flushed appearance too him, almost sickly, "Is that even possible? do demons get sick?" the girl pondered to herself; it was probably a little silly to stand there and think about while Lucien was probably not feeling well.

It was always like walking on thin ice with him though, Anya only approached after careful consideration, and cupped his warm face between her two hands. There was such a stark difference between his child and adult form, that it always astonished Anya when he did change back, he was almost as tall as her even though he was sitting down. Anya moved one hand carefully from his cheek up to his forehead, though his whole face was equally burning, "You've got a fever" she simply stated, at that moment her brain attempted to come up with a way to help.Fevers were a response to infection or illness in the body, they were a sign that the immune system was working just fine, Anya knew many ways to treat it, but that only applied to humans, were demon illnesses somewhat the same? She wasn't sure how much time had passed since she'd laid her hands on his face, but Anya quickly dropped her hands, "Lets move you to the couch, i'll bring you some water, and medicine, do you still want to eat?" Anya ask, taking the opportunity to switch off the oven, if she was gonna be nursing Lucien, she didn't want the food to burn. "Can you walk?" the librarian inquired, taking off her apron and going to his side. "Shadow please help me" she spoke, hoping he wouldn't make another fuss about her telling his shadow what to do.

                                                                      Lovely Leatrice

"Aw come on, you know you like hanging out with me! If you didn't, you would of ditched me a long time ago!" without even thinking, Rose had blurted out that little bit in response to her friend's usual snap. Her mind tried not to think of the possible answered that could come out of his mouth if he decided not to let it go, it would only feed her inner anxieties. It wouldn't be the end of the world if he did say something, the woman acknowledged. It was Ash! He's known her for years. The redhead reminded herself that if he ever had a real problem with her, he definitely wouldn't have any issues telling her. His honesty was one of the reasons that kept her around despite his attitude sometimes. What were the other reasons? Rose couldn't quite say without possibly embarrassing herself.

Enough of that, the petite woman was thinking way too much in their friendship out of the blue like that. She needed to relax for goddess' sake! The man's birthday was coming up literally the day after tomorrow. Rose needed to figure out what all she had planned for him. 'Hm, can't do too much or he'll get upset. I already bought him his gift, but... agh I hope he'll like it!' as she sat there, Rose flashed Ash a small smile in an attempt to lighten the mood. Her head perked up at him mentioning what she could make him for the special day and she immediately gasped with excitement. "Lamb, huh? Mixing things up this year, nice! I wonder what I should make. I gotta make it perfect, nothing less! There's roasted leg of lamb, lamb tartlet, thigh of lamb with radicchio and onion, oh---" her amber eyes returned their attention back to her friend sitting in front of her then let out an awkward chuckle. "Sorry, you know I get a little excited when I think of a new recipe for you to try, heh heh. Uh, well, besides the lamb, are you sure you don't want any sort of cake? I mean I know you don't like sweets very much, but... I can make one with low sugar so it's not so sweet."

Surprisingly enough, Ezekiel himself had made an appearance at their table to hand them their meal, along with a few complimentary goodies. Rose's eyebrows raised at the unexpected visit by her (self-proclaimed) arch nemesis, chiming softly, "Yo Ez! What's shakin'? Huh?" her body turned to face him directly, "For real? You remembered? Aw man, thanks a lot! That's really sweet of you!" the petite redhead excitedly rubbed her hands together before digging into her food. 'Oh no.' she thought, 'It's... It's delicious! Damn it, I'm gonna have to step up my game!' in spite of her mental protests at her cooking rival's appetizing sweets, Rose simply couldn't help herself while eating and obviously enjoying the flavors. Chewing her food with much gusto, the young woman managed to ask after swallowing, "Hey Ash, you wanna head to the bar later tonight? I wouldn't mind a few drinks myself! There's a few Fall cocktails I've been dying to try." her voice grew into a more mellow tone as she talked about her plans, her hand gently patting her stomach after she had finished her plate. The pasta and cake were to die for! Rose's stomach now satisfied, she stood up and looked over at Ez. "If you want, you can come with us Ez! As fun as it is running this place by yourself, I'm sure even you could use a break." the redhead smiled at the two men and teasingly blew a single kiss in their direction before chuckling to herself. "I'll see you guys later then, I've gotta head back to the inn and finish my chores. Catch ya at the bar!" and with that, the petite woman strolled out of the restaurant toward the inn to finish up her work for the day.

                                                      --Several hours later--

The sun was beginning to set due to the shorter autumn days. Rose could feel herself becoming more and more excited as she watched time march on in the nearest clock. Sumia had told her she too was planning on going to the bar for an evening drink, so they decided to go together. Once it was time, they both left the inn arm in arm. The redhead had talked on as the tall blonde quietly listened at her friend's eagerness.

"Do you have anything planned for his birthday?"

"Well, no. Not exactly. He doesn't like it when I make it a big deal."

"Do you know if he's planning anything for you?"

Rose laughed, "Ash? Plan something for my birthday? I dunno, I'm not expecting much. I'm fine if I can get him to at least say happy birthday to me! Oh, and smile while he said it!"

"I still fail to see why you find him so interesting. But... I think I can help you out. I've got something you can give him on either of your birthdays." Sumia said with a suspicious smirk on her lips. Rose arched an eyebrow, gazing at her boss for a few concerned moments before her attention now placed on their destination; the bar. She burst through the doors, her long hair and skirt fluttering right behind her as she made a bee-line for the bar table. "Woo hoo! First drink's on me Sumia! What'll you have? I think I'm gonna start off with a Baileys Caramel Appletini." she took a seat on one of the stools, patting the seat next to her for the blonde to take.

"I'll just have a shot of whiskey on the rocks to start."

Rose giggled as she used her fingers to twirl a few locks of her hair. "Startin' off hard, eh? Will I have to take you back home tonight if you reach your limit?" the blonde merely scoffed, but the petite girl was clearly enjoying herself. It was only after they had received their first drinks that they began to really relax and converse with each other until more people showed up.

My honey you look amazing in that outfit ^_^

When the night snuck up on him he was so excited. It meant he could finally leave the shop without blinding himself half to death. He was a pureblood vampire so he was able to go outside during the day but he had to take percautions by using a parasol and wearing dark sunglasses to keep himself from getting burned or blinded by the sun. It had been about six when he shut the shop for the night and decided to take a walk until the bar opened up for the night. He had spent his time off wandering the forest slightly until it came to that time of day where he could make it to the village bar and enjoy a nice delicious bloody mary. He usually took his with real blood but it wasn't like he drank from people without their permission. The blood was actually pigs blood and even though it wasn't fresh like feeding off the real thing he still enjoyed a nice glass to ease himself up after a long day of helping people look fashionable.

Upon entering the bar he smiled when he spotted Rose and Sumia sitting down and enjoying a drink themselves. "Evening luvs. How did your day go you two." he asked curiously as he took a seat down a few stools away from them and ordered himself a nice bloody marry. He usually took it with a little vodka mixed in with the drink but usually it was about ninety five percent pigs blood. When his drink came he sipped it silently as his cheeks flushed a bright red at the delicious and relaxing drink. There was an array of vampire safe drinks that he had been able to get the bar to use but even so some vampires perfered the stuff straight from the vein. He didn't care either way. he just wasn't rude and fed off people on a whim. If they were alright with it then he would reluctantly take a bite but if they didn't want him to then he wouldn't.

Reaching into his pocket he smiled as he pulled out his camera and offered it to the girls. "I just took picture of my fall line back at the shop. If you want you girls can take a look and see what you like. I know its getting to that time of year where its getting chilly so its best to make sure your nice and warm and not walking around freezing yourselves due to the fall weather." he said gently as he smiled at Rose and Sumia.

Pulled suddenly away from staring into space by a knock on the door, Johanna nearly fell backward. She clamped her hands down on her desk, stopping her chair from tumbling. Quickly standing and smoothing out her skirt, the mayor quickly walked over to the door. She opened it and saw the handsome features of Haji standing just beyond the wooden frame. The dark haired woman smiled at him, giving him a shallow curtsy as a greeting. "Good-d even-ning." Standing up straight again, her violet eyes spotted the flowers the tanned elf was holding. It was a bouquet of dahlias and baby's breath. Just before they had parted at lunch, the two of them had decided to meet later that day. With Haji so close to her now and without the invasion of food, she could smell a lovely scent on him that smelt like an exotic tea. "My wor-r-rk-k is-s f-finis-shed, s-so we have t-the r-r-res-st-t of-f-f-f t-the night-t t-t-to our-rs-s-s-selves-s."

She beckoned him with her arm to leave the office, shutting the door behind her before they continued down the hall. "Have a g-good even-ning." Johanna said to the secretary as the two of them exited the building. The night air was cool, far different than summer evenings. The street lamps lit the town, guiding the way for those who still wandered about. The sun had set by this point, but the moon had not made its entrance upon the night sky yet. Stars twinkled in the dark blue ocean above them. Johanna turned her gaze toward Haji, wondering what he was thinking at that moment. She wished sometimes that she could be a mind reader. "S-so," She started turning her gaze elsewhere. "Wher-re would you lik-k-ke t-to go t-t-tonight-t?" Honestly, she didn't care where they went, so long as they went together. They could sit outside and watch the stars, go to get drinks at the bar, have a nice warm meal at the inn, there were many things they could do.

"I wonder what sort of music he likes to listen too..." The dark haired woman thought to herself. Maybe he would enjoy an evening drinking wine or tea while listening to some of her records. They could talk about their interests, maybe find things that they had in common. She did want to know more about Haji and his special talents in fortune telling. A sudden strong breeze washed over them, trying to drag anything loose with it. It sent shivers down her spine as the sudden bite of chills made itself known on her skin. She straightened her dress out before turning to the elven male again. "Perhaps-s we s-s-shouldn't-t d-dilly dally." She suggested, hooking her arm in his and walked briskly down the paved streets.

It was around three in the afternoon when Yuuki finished up her daily chores. It was normal to go this long. She spent most of her day tending to the animals before doing anything else. And at the moment she was craving a nice stawberry cocktail and maybe seeing if Rose or anyone else she knew were there as well. She hoped Leona would be there. THem being the two only werewolves in the town kind of madei t lonely sometimes. Especially when you were use to being in a pack. Either way she liked the blacksmith and enjoyed her time hanging out with her.Getting ready to head off the ranch she then finished feeding the cats and the dogs she had on the ranch before heading off towards the main gate that boarder the ranch and the outside world.

Once outside the ranch her tail fluffed up slightly as she let herself get all stretched out before heading off in the direction of the town and the bar. Yuuki wasn't much of a drinker but she did like strawberry cocktails. they were so sweet and yummy. And they made her head feel funny. Which was sometimes a delight when she was stressed out a lot. As she walked she hummed a soft tune as she carried her umbrella in her hands. The ends pointing out to each side. She usually carried an umbrella when she left the ranch. You never know when the sky would start to cry as she would say. She was so excited to have a nice night to herself and she hoped to see some of her friends at the bar as well. Maybe Rose her friend who made such delicious meat dishes. Or even Leona. Oh how she hoped to see her blacksmith friend. Her tail seemed to wag excitedly at that thought. She was even making soft growls of happiness as she walked. Her heels clicking slightly on the brick walkway into town.

Sitting outside on the other side of the road on a bench was the green haired Seer of a school teacher. He was currently fiddling with his scarf as he tried to figure out what to do. He did this every time. Every night when he wanted to go to the bar he would procrastinate weither he should enter the bar or not. His fingers gently tapped on the cover of a book that he had been reading today as he watched people enter and leave through the bars door. His eyes showed his fear that if he entered he might get frightened due to the rough people inside. He had seen Miss Rose and Miss Sumia enter as well as Mr. Rosekk but he didn't know who else might be inside.

His feet started to twitch slightly as he tapped his feet on the brick pathway that was the side walk. His eyes scanning over everything as Cherry sat on the back of the bench fluffing her feathers slightly. She let out a sqwack of protest as if telling him to man up and get in there but he felt so nervous. He knew she would be hard to handle sooner or later so he took an intake of air into his lungs and stood up from the bench. "O...Okay..l...lets go inside..." he said gently as he held the book close to his chest while Cherry climbed up his arm that was extended to her and sat on his shoulder as she gently cooed to him.

Mara took slow steps over to the bars front door and kind of froze. His hand only a few inches away from the door knob as he stared at it with such intent and fear. He hated this. He love the bar. It had a nice lady working there and even if she scared him she was nice enough to give him his space. Plus he didn't feel like reading his book in the dark out on the bench again like last night so he closed his eyes tightly and quickly reached for the door knob before turning it and pushing the door forward. Once inside though he opened his eyes and saw that not a lot of people were inside. That was slightly a relief.

Taking a few more deep breaths he looked around at the people inside and decided to wave to them before making his way to his usual table and sitting down. He had to take a few deep breaths before Cherry climbed down his arm and onto the table as she fluffed her feathers up and went to work nibbling on the bowl of assorted nuts sitting in the middle of the table. This was what she usually did. She adored the salted nuts that the bar offered for a snack with your drink. Mara took this time to sit there and readjust his mind to keep himself from freaking out when and if people started to talk to him.

                                                              Cocoa...??...Cocoa...where did you go...??

It had been just a little bit ago when Aquarius closed the shack down for the night. Cocoa was wagging her butt like crazy since she knew what that meant. A nice walk around the village at night was something that Aquarius liked to take Cocoa for every time the shop closed. She enjoyed sniffing the ground, marking her territory and making new friends with the animals around the village. Once Aqua made sure she had on her harness he picked up her leash and latched it onto the back of her harness as she started to jump up and down happily while pawing at the shacks front door. It made Aquarius smile slightly before he pushed open the door and let her barrel out before she stopped as the leash had stopped her in her tracks.

He then took this time to shut the door and lock it before pocketing his keys and headed for the path off the beach and up into the grassy areas's of the village. As he walked Cocoa around he took the time to inspect the trees that had different leaf colors to them. It interested the young merman deeply as he saw the different leave colors as if they were foreign to the world. He even reached up and touched one of the leaves as if expecting it to crumble under his fingers. But when they didn't he tilted his head slightly to the side as if trying to figure out what was wrong with a tree to make it do such a thing. Yes Mitsue explained it to him earlier but those words confused him and didn't quite register in his mind at the moment.

While touching the trees trunk he gently ran his fingers over the bark before he heard Cocoa whimper. Turning to look at her he smiled when he saw she had wanted to continue the walk. Nodding he turned and let Cocoa lead him as she walked down the path ways wagging her butt left and right as she tried to only wag her tail. It was cute. He had noticed she did it a lot and it was so adorable to him. She reminded him of one of those seals that he had met in the ocean before who swung their back fins to get places. It was so funny to remember such a thing. But he tried to ignore his desire to laugh as he focused on letting Cocoa lead him around the different areas in town.

Lucien frowned when Anya didn't even jump at his shadow. The shadow in question took it in stride, merely starting to copy all of Anya's actions, which was very entertaining. Since it looked like her already-wait...where there normally 4 anya's? Curse this...whatever it was! Lucien's eyes narrowed at the gang of witches that were staring at him. His shadow, copying anya to a tee, watched as she walked closer to him. Suspicion washed over the demon's sickly mind. Was this the chance she was waiting for? He had almost started to think the curse was actually an accident, now would she pounce when he was at his weakest? His breathing quickened as she stopped before him, hands coming up to his face. Fear jolted through him, and he tried to form a barrier out of instinct-earning himself a throbbing headache. He flinch at the pain and closed his eyes as she touched his face. Too tired to even back away...he waited for something terrible to happen.

Her hands felt cool upon his heated face, and no pain came with it. A nice surprise, he opened his purple eyes as he felt that hand travel to his forehead. "You've got a fever" she stated simply. "A...fever..." his shadow didn't seem surprised, then again his brain wasn't internally on fire, so he likely knew exactly what was wrong with him. "St-stop touching me, I'm fine." He snapped at the shadow(s) and anya(s) "Shut up! All four of you!" He lurched to his feet, he banged his horn against the door frame, setting his balance off as he went to the living room. He wasn't sure why he went to this room. It seemed like a good plan. The impact reminded him of his headache as he rubbed at his temple. Stumbling more than once, he finally made it to the couch.

"I've been like this all day, I'm sure it's nothing." His breathing was heavier than usual, undermining his words. His shadow was still copying all of anya's movements in her shape. He turned his head to glare at her when something within burned-

Shadow froze and gripped at his chest before his shape wavered, it fell to his knees as Lucien cried out. Clenching at his own chest as he writhed on the couch, the pain faded a moment later. Leaving the demon laying on the sofa completely out of breath. Shadow wavered, once...twice, it reached out to anya and - lost it's shape. Falling into an inky puddle it returned to Lucien. The demon shuffled to fit better on the sofa, seemingly unaware of his surroundings...Pain...he was so hot...like he had swallowed the sun. "Owowow...it hurts..." he gasped. Looking around he saw...there was someone missing. "where is...tch!" He flinched as his head throbbed. Shivering he looked up to the girl, "Can you help me? I'm so warm..." His eyes fluttered as he searched the room for something that was missing, he couldn't place it just then.

Why was he so weak? He shouldn't be in such a state, his tired violet eyes landed on the girl. "Why do you wear that? Your eyes are stunning, foolish girl..." The girl in question was wearing an eye patch. There was an eye under there, he had seen it on rare occasions. Once when anya was late for work, the other few times was when she was heading to or from the shower. "...magical even..." His own eyes closed as he took a deep breath. Talking was even getting hard...his throat was so dry.

It was 6:00PM before Lincoln started stirring in his bed. The room was dark from his black curtains which he kept firmly over the window to block out as much light as possible, but it always seemed to find its way through. The sun was hell on his hangovers. Today's hangover wasn't that bad, the constant headache he had after a full night of drinking plagued him though. Link threw his arms out on either side of him, realizing that lady from last night had already let herself out. He just didn't know when. He had slept all day again so there was a large window of time she could have left. He was sure she had told him her name, but link made an effort to push his one night stands names out before the night was over. He put his pillow over his head and let out a loud sigh. He knew he should get up and start getting ready to open the bar... Plus he had that dinner date at Sheryl's place. Maybe tonight would be the night she actually let him in her bed. or his, if she didn't mind walking back to the bar.

Link finally decided it was time to get up. He rolled off the bed with a "huff" and the blanket wrapped around him, I guess you could call that getting up. After another few minutes he brought himself to his hands and knees before getting to his feet. His body was bare from last nights fun, which made him glad the air conditioner was off. He stumbled his way to the bathroom, using the walls to keep himself up. This hangover was growing worse and he needed a cold shower and lots of coffee to cure it. Finally reaching the bathroom he turned the cold faucet all the way up and stepped in. He let the water wash away all of last nights filth and any memories he had of it. I guess you could say it was his daily ritual. He finished up and stepped out, lightly drying himself off before throwing the towel back over the shower door. He took his bare self back to his room and threw on whatever clothes he could find. Looking at the clock now he was five minutes late to open the bar. he slammed the drawers of his dresser shut and rushed down stairs to the bar. This wasn't the first time he was late and it wouldn't be the last. He turned on the "Open" sign and unlocked the door. None had shown up yet so he took his time to wipe down the counters and set the chairs on the floor. Still no one. He let out a sign, his head hurt too much to just wait around for people. That's what he paid Fuu to do. With a huff he gave up and climbed the stairs to his flat. In the kitchen he set the coffee maker on and slouched over the counter to wait. Now that he got the chance to look around he realized it was actually pretty messy in here. But hey, what could you do? With how busy he was running the bar and with how many hangovers he got he had no time to worry about such stupid things. --He never used to have to think about that kinda stuff... When he got home from work Lauren had already made the house spotless and set dinner out for the two...-- Lincoln bit his tongue, scolding himself for bringing up such memories that had brought heartache. He ran his hand through his still damp hair. "I thought I told you to kill your emotions?" Link decided to say ******** it and dump the coffee out and go straight to the rum in his kitchen cabinet. It didn't matter anyway, he would end up drinking sooner or later, so why not sooner to save some trouble?
After drinking about half the bottle the buzz from it started to take over his hangover and relieve him of his headache. Finally the bustle coming from downstairs caught his attention and he took it as a sign to join in on the fun. Only tonight couldn't get too fun since he had to stay sober enough to socialize with Sheryl at dinner.

Lincoln tucked his alcohol away in the cabinet before finding his way downstairs where a good amount of people had started to gather. More than usual for a weekday. But what did he care? It was always more fun for him when the bar was full, plus the good income it brought was nice. Lincolns attention was pulled to the cute Inn owner and her chef. Those two girls seemed like they'd be entertaining enough to pass the time before Sheryl showed up. Link put on his best attitude and made his way behind the bar where he took over making the drinks for them from Fuu. "Here you go ladies, baileys caramel appletini and whiskey on the rocks." He turned to the young man sitting with them and flashed a smile. "Good evening. I hope my lovely Fuuko made your drink to your liking?" He gave the man another smile then let his eyes wander. It appeared that Rose's brute of a boyfriend wasn't here yet. He let his eyes fall to Rose and smiled again. "So, Rose, where is Ash if I might ask? Hes usually here by now, drinking up all my booze." He said the last part with a pleasant tone, trying not to sound rude. He really did enjoy his regulars, even if Ash wasn't the most pleasant person in the world. It still gave Link people to look forward to drinking with.
A green haired man awkwardly came into the bar and it caught Links attention. He casually waved back to him and called out; "welcome." before turning his attention back to the girls in front of him.

███ ` LOCAL CARPENTER

Ash resisted the urge to snap at Rose down after she'd countered that he would of ditched her long ago; Ash would admit she knew him and his mannerisms very well. The carpenter gave her an angry glare, but couldn't come up with any excuse for why he hadn't left her yet; it was all a big mystery to him too, at least thats what he told himself. There was an insufferable nagging in the back of his thoughts that kept wanting to admit that he enjoyed her, but the stubborn man kept shoving that feeling deep down. She was such a weak person, Ash had always held respect for people who could stand up to him, maybe not necessarily a physical fight. Rose always took his verbal abuse, sometimes trying to play it off like a joke, sometimes trying to rationalize his actions, Ash had wondered when they first met how long she would stay with him before ditching him for a more friendly companion.

Ash listened to her ponder out loud what kind of recipe she should use to make him the "perfect" lamb. The carpenter listened, though for the most part everything sounded like a tiny bird chirping in his ear, a little red cardinal, flapping its feathers at him, and singing its little songs. Ash rested his cheek on his hand while listening to her, some semblance of a tiny smiling twitching at the edge of his mouth; one would wonder if it would of turned into a full smile if Rose hadn't stopped her chirping to apologize for getting to excited about trying something new. "I don't want a cake" Ash replied bluntly in regards to her offer to bake him a cake that was low on sugar.

Before Ash would have to hear anymore about the cake, Ezekiel showed up at their table, the chef was a good person in Ash's book, but that was probably because most of the times they'd met the man had something for Ash to eat. It was rare for Ash to actually like someone, but he wasn't some heartless person who never desired companionship, its just most of his options annoyed the crap out of him. The chef knew Ash's eating habits, he'd brought something sickeningly sweet for Rose, but spared him, instead bring a meat dish for Ash to eat; even after eating his lunch he could definitely put away more food. "Thanks Ez" Ash spoke, almost sounding pleasant before diving into the new food placed in front of him. In between bites the carpenter was drawn back to Rose, who for a while was distracted by her "cooking rival" as she often referred to the man that worked at the restaurant. She was now asking him if he would like to joined her at the bar later. Ash shrugged, he was going to go to the bar whether she invited him out or not "Whatever" the male replied; finishing off what remained of his meal, then rose from his seat. The carpenter dug into his pocket, and fished out an old, leather wallet, dropping enough money to cover the meal, plus a small tip for their waiter. He nodded at Ez before leaving directly after Rose has made her exit.

Ash spent what remained of that day busying himself with his work; though after his encounter with Rose there were random intervals where she would creep into his mind; each time the carpenter would grow more angry that he couldn't stop thinking about her. Eventually he gave up, and took a break; retrieving a cold beer from an electric cooler he had plugged into one of the corners; most probably wouldn't think it was responsible to drink on the job, but one beer wasn't gonna get the tall man anywhere near drunk, and also ******** anyone that tried to tell him how to do his job. Even with the alcohol in his system he still couldn't stop thinking about her, what was so great about her anyway? She was weak, never shut up, a complete klutz, kind, warm, inviting...tolerated him. [******** HELL GO AWAY" Ash shouted in frustration, unfortunately his outburst had caused him to crush the still half full can on beer, spilling the liquid all over his shirt, and pants.

The Carpentry shop had closed somewhat earlier than usual that evening, anyone that had a problem with it would have to deal with him. Ash headed home quickly, and changed into some clean clothing that he would also wear out later; for the time being the carpenter prepared a snack, and read one of the books he had checked out from the library; a hobby most people would not expect in the grumpy man, but fiction was sometimes easier to deal with than reality. Time seemed to move a little more quickly than usual, Ash wasn't sure he was ready to see Rose again, he sighed, grabbing his leather jacket, and headed towards the bar. Upon entering Ash spotted the red head; really that hair of hers made her so easy to spot, and the bar owner. Ash would of really liked to get along with the owner of his favorite place, but the smug b*****d was always hitting on someone, trying to take advantage of their drunk state and poor judgement; the way he eyed Rose always rubbed Ash the wrong way.

The Carpenter heard the bar owner speak his name, inquiring about his whereabouts. in response the tall man headed to their location, slamming his hand onto the bar "Right here you b*****d" if the carpenter could sound anymore feral his response could of been considered a downright growl. He took the stool next to Rose "Get me the usual beer, or get the hell out of sight" the tall man spoke, sounding slightly less hostile, he glanced at Rose, "And you if this a*****e is harassing you, you should walk away instead of sitting there with that dumb look on your face" Ash snapped at her, turning most of his body to face her.
