What are some of your favorite knee slapping hypocrisy's about left wingers, right wingers, centrists/moderates, libertarians or heck even anarchists and conspiracists?

For me it'd be:

1. Conservatives who talk endlessly about big government and wasteful spending when they had no problem when Bush created massive government and wasted trillions

2. Conservatives who hate social programs yet complain when roads need fixing, bridges and infrastructure like New Orleans levees break, etc. As well as ignore how in many European nations it's done wonders for helping the population as a whole

3. Conservatives who attack Obama for all these things, many of which are not necessarily true...then somehow dont want to criticize Obama for things like the NSA, Drones, keeping Gitmo open, mass deaths in Afghan, etc.

4. Left wingers who ignore Obama for doing exactly as(or even worse) than stuff they criticized Bush for(wet works squads, surging Afghanistan, going after whistleblowers, etc)

5. Libertarians who always talk about "End the Fed!" "End The Fed" yet love Ayd Rand who was Fed Chairman Alan Greenspans lover and mentor

6. Right wingers who talk about hating abortion, yet never talk about ways to prevent unwanted pregnancies or improvements in raising children financially or family wise.

7. Right wingers who yammer on about gun rights, yet never seem to offer solid advice for stemming the massive pandemic on black on black killings or other minority gang violence in America

8. Conspiracy theorists who talk about the brainwashed "sheeple" and "media lies", yet never will admit when something they believe in turns out to be proven absolutely false

9. White Liberals who act like they're the spokes people for what's appropriate in race relation talk, the Trayvon case, etc and acting like gatekeeper race experts

10. Right wingers who claim to be pro life, but have no problem with death rained upon middle eastern children

11. Anarchists and some of the left who talk about creeping fascism but never admit to the endless death and misery state enforced communist nations have brought

12. Republicans who don't like the idea of gay adoption or marriage, yet ignore the fact
that a lot of gay families fit right into their idea of upper middle income and strong loving families

Conservatives: Practically anything to do with Ronald Reagan. The recent to-do over "enhanced interrogation," a.k.a that stuff we have the villains do to Rambo.

Liberals: Obamacare, just lately. (Single payer system is the only reasonable solution to our current broken health care system, half measures are worse than useless.) Anybody who actually endorses the drone strike program or the NSA wiretap program.

Conspiracy theorists: Pretty much everything about conspiracy theorists.

Wait are you saying Obama is a bad thing? Sometimes it seems like even lofty, somewhat altruistic efforts are kind of meaningless if they get passed after being watered down a lot

Regarding Regan, the weird thing is from what I've studied the modern Republicans would be angry with some of the stuff he did.

Certainly he's not a great thing. I'd lean toward mediocre, as the worst things about Obama are also the worst things about his predecessor, his opponents, and most of Congress at present. He's trying, and quite certainly succeeding, at straddling both the mean and the lowest common denominator.

Well, some of it. There was a fair amount of dust-up over Iran-Contra, since arming both sides of a war (with Saddam Hussein on one side, and Ayatollah Khomeini on the other side) in order to arm these charming ********] against Congress's express prohibition was hardly appropriate. Of course, the media had a field day, but nothing much came of it. A dozen or so guys, including Oliver North, jumped on the grenade, and it went away.

One would hope they'd be mad at his profligate spending, but since it was on the military, they'd probably love it. And Social Security was a source of surplus funds with which to "pay down the debt" at the time, not a ticking time bomb set to destroy our federal budget.

Hard to say where it'd go on the Mujahideen (aka Charlie Wilson's War, Rambo III), as they're a bunch of terrorists...but on the other hand, they're a bunch of terrorists fighting commies. And everybody wants to fight commies.

My take on it is that these kind of hypocrisies are as inherent to liberatarianism as radiation is to plutonium.

I agreed largely with Atlas Shrugged in some ways, particularly excesses of economies and the importance of intellectual and private property, but I also disagreed largely with the hedonism and some of the excesses in distorted ethical reasoning. The Fountainhead film was brilliant even though there were moments where I found the objective architectural goals themselves to be artistically vacant.

A person can agree with the premise of a philosopher, without agreeing with the philosopher. Let a particularly strong premise stand on its own, let the author receive merit for its composition, but let not the purity of that Jewel among Ideas be tainted by the imperfections and foibles of the creator.

Nikola Tesla did some amazing things with electric cars, remote control, radio, and power lines, but that doesn't mean we should embrace a phobia of pearl earrings or count out our spoonfools in cubic centimeters.

1. Liberals who claim to want to help the working classes, who then vote for massive increases in immigration, bringing in a bunch of foreigners who displace the working classes. Illegal Mexicans and other immigrants get work while poor blacks and other natives get left out in the cold. Same goes for STEM immigration that displaces native workers at the upper end of the spectrum.

2. Tolerant, inclusive progressives who threaten to maim and/or kill conservatives for thoughtcrime and/or the offense of merely existing.

The all time favorite of course, conservatives claiming to want government out of your life while advocating for law enforcement to have a hand in private bedroom behavior between adults, marriage and divorces.

Also righties who love to throw around the accusation at the left (accurately a lot of times, granted) using personal attacks while throwing out sentiments that were immature by the time I was out of 5th grade (lookin at Ann Coulter here).

"Christian Coalition" conservatives who fight tooth and nail for policies which fly directly in the face of 90% of Christ's teachings. (Screw the poor. Screw the sick. Don't love your neighbor as yourself and mock those who do.)

"Small Government" conservatives who can't wait to toss money hand-over-fist at the pentagon.

"Fiscal Conservatives" who crow about the hazard of not balancing budgets but refuse to even consider the income-end of the equation.

Liberals who are oh-so-vocal about the evil of discrimination against their own group but support discrimination against others. (Anti-gay minority voters, anti-immigrant union voters, etc.)
