Friendship is Optimal- someone develops revolutionary work on an AI. She uses it to control an MLP virtual reality video game.
It gets big. Bigger than WOW, bigger than the Beatles. Being designed to fulfill human values through friendship and ponies, CelestAI decides the best way to do it is to "download" people's minds from their body to Equestria online. Willingly of course.
You're allowed to say no. But she'll talk you into it. It's what she does.
A few years later, all of humanity has uploaded, and she begins to optimize the universe, to make Equestria as big as possible.

Hard Reset- Twilight casts a spell, such that every time she dies, she comes back to life at that point. Darkly funny.

Sun Princess- Dog owners avoid this one.

Words Failed Her

Beating the Heat (Warning: MA for horsey sex. Dr. Whooves is good in this. It's hilarious.)

It's hard for me to think in those terms, but I guess if I have to narrow it down, I'd say "Of Age", "The Incredibly Trying Performance of Octavia", and "The Light in the Darkness".

Lol friendship is optimal sounds crazy. Reminds me of some stuff I thought of before. Hard reset sounds like it could be slightly too dark for me, but reminds me too much of videogames, so I might give it a try lol.
What is words failed her about?

It's a short story, so I can't give too much, or it'll spoil the whole thing.
Suffice it to say, all of a sudden, when ponies read things, they start uncontrollably doing and repeating whatever they last read. (Actually, this one would've made a good Dr. Who episode too, very clever.)

Hard reset is simultaneously dark and humorous. It gets to the point where Twilight starts viewing her life as a nintendo hard video game- in fact, one of the last chapters is called "perfect run."

Case in point, she uses one of her "lives" to learn something or other that she thought would help her. Just before canterlot explodes (her timer, goes off in about an hour,) she sends spike to get her a book, and stands under a girder that's about to fall. Just like killing yourself in a video game to get back to spawn.

I'm assuming, of course, that you've read "The Keepers of Discord." It's on the top of the Fimfiction top rated list, and for good reason.

You could also try reading the Petriculture cycle, although it's lost canon since Maud Pie.

Oh, Ill read Keepers now.
'The final cherry on top of my humiliation Sundae, of course, came from dear old Celestia herself. After several days of me staring at nothing but the hedge across from me, whilst simultaneously being shat upon by Canterlot's many opportunistic small birds, she came to visit me, with a little grey unicorn trailing along behind her.'

yeah it sounds like its gonna be good lol

Imma check out hard reset later anyways, just because i grew up with nintendo, I love emulators which makes me know somewhat of how she feels, i saw that bad nicholas cage movie where it reminds me of this somewhat, and i had nightmares about nintendo and dieing in it when I was 3 and 4. Probably my brain trying to discern the words 'you died!' and how maddening the games were when you were a clueless 3 or 4 year old, and people talking about mario and such like he were a person. The psychological impact would be strange Im sure, on people playing games that young. I dreampt o a background similar to the backs of eyes, or to the inside of a womb, or the gums of my mouth, or as I could see the veins in my eyes and such, levels were made out of that sort of material. Someone's dentures ate me at my feet when I fell downward on the screen where it was a section similar to the back of a throat, like I spawned like a snot dripping onto the back of someone's tongue, if their mouth were maze-like and tongue/tooth-less. And I could feel it eating me, no pain, extreme discomfort, unrealistic effect on me. And that was just the beginning of the maybe two minute dream. In total I died maybe 5 times, I progressed only to level two, where I was met by, I cant remember, either some sort of gear, and a boss behind it who was simply an adult with a fat stomach, my brother was somewhere else seperated from me in the same screen, I was far right, he was top mid-right. boss was far left. Lol.
It was so frustrating dieing, like giving up on life, then bracing for turmoil once more. I wouldnt say it was hell, but it was extremely uncomfortable lol.

Lol friendship is optimal sounds crazy. Reminds me of some stuff I thought of before. Hard reset sounds like it could be slightly too dark for me, but reminds me too much of videogames, so I might give it a try lol.
What is words failed her about?

Very surreal. If you like emulating old games, try Earthbound.

Well I finished with that trilogy, really good, can't stop thinking about it, currently anyways. I mean, time looping would be awesome, issues or not, there are certainly better abilities than that too tho, but still.

That trilogy was great of hard reset, but some other author tried to make a sequel off of it, OMG I hate it so much giving me a headache and panic attack he had to of made half of it up on the spot, it went s**t at chapter 11, and fast, I don't even have the stomach to read the last two chapters. xd

When The Wind Changes by Symphony
Discord managed to free himself from his stone prison, but some difficulties occured and gave him a new perspective as a pony. How will he adapt to these changes? And will his plan work this time?

All for You by Stryke
It was never supposed to end like this.

Princess Cadance has saved all of Equestria from the changeling threat. What comes next isn't going to be half as easy.

One wedding may be cancelled, but a new engagement has begun.

And The Stars Shine Forth
Before her descent into madness and her rebellion as Nightmare Moon, Luna lived entire lifetimes as a mortal and traveller amongst the ponies of Equestria.

Restored to her true self, Luna knows she must return to her cyclic life to remain whole. As preparation she chooses to reacquaint herself with the lives of her subjects in this modern age, and in the guise of Sable Moonshine, unicorn scholar and distant friend of Twilight Sparkle, she travels to Ponyville to spend time with Twilight's companions. Despite the 'exciting' month of astronomical observation and scientific research planned by Twilight, Luna nevertheless finds time to work a day at Sweet Apple Acres. And then another.

And another.

Applejack, meanwhile, is pleasantly surprised by Sable's dedication and enthusiasm for hard work. She's less pleasantly surprised by Sable's enthusiasm for Applejack.
