hey everybody. first time in the music threads here, looking for a lil help.

i'm depressed and one major side effect of it is that i can't listen to any good music without wanting to buy the main instrument and play it myself. which is kind of a cool/good thing and now i'm wishing i could start my life over from scratch and get involved, at an earlier age, on instrumental stuff.

anyway, now i'm hoping to get a violin.
i read somewhere that in order to get something good i'll have to spend upwards of 300 dollars and that anything less than 200 is pure garbage and not "good pricing".

so any experienced violinists want to weigh in here, help me out? thanks
i found a good looking one on amazon for 50 bucks. sorry if this offends anyone. this is not my intention and i have great respect for anyone who practices with this beautiful instrument.
