That's alright. I've got the story for my poem. Just hard to put the story into the stanzas.

The power of stitches
is a curious thing
One might think even that
With a tightly pulled string
One could accomplish
Great and horrible things.

And it just so happens
That this tale has to do
With all of the powers
That a needle can accrue

Well, to be particular
It begins late at night
When sensible people,
Turn out their light
But poor Lydia kept her candle
Burning all the night long
And that's where dear Lydia
Went wrong.

Flames are quite nasty
When left unchecked
They can cause great mischief
To those who forget
And little Lydia was
as absentminded as they come
And that's how the poor girl
was undone.

Now make no mistake here
The whole town grieved
And cried all day long
They felt rather cheated
They felt despicably wronged.

Now it just so happens
A young magician passed by
And seeking to earn his bread
Asked why they cried

In embittered, and most afflicted tones
They told of the misfortune
That had befallen
Poor Lydia's home.

They expected him to moan
With eyes full of tears
But he simply smiled
It was he wanted to hear.
For others can make money
Off the misfortune of a town
And they find it quite funny
When everyone frowns
For it means they are in business
Which makes them seem mean
Rather like a clockwork machine.

He took poor Lydia's body
And said with a smile
He'd restore her to life
It would only take a little while.
He said he'd be done in three days
If they gave him a place
To work, sleep and shelter
And fix at his pace.

So reluctantly they gave him
The lonely house on the hill
Holding him to his word that
He'd make Lydia well
He dashed off with a grin that
Bespoke of something bad
But what could they do now?
Nothing. How sad.

Three days and three nights passed
With no sign or word
From the house on the hill
Had poor Lydia been cured?
