I still don't understand why so many people hate The Glorious Buden. Do they just have a grudge against Tim Owens?

It's sad to say, but that's the EXACT reason they don't like Glorious Burden. It's because of Owens' involvement with Priest that nobody is willing to give GB a chance. I personally adore that album. I've heard Owens' stuff from Priest, and I didn't mind it; but i'm as open-minded as can be, so I didn't mind.

It's sad to say, but that's the EXACT reason they don't like Glorious Burden. It's because of Owens' involvement with Priest that nobody is willing to give GB a chance. I personally adore that album. I've heard Owens' stuff from Priest, and I didn't mind it; but i'm as open-minded as can be, so I didn't mind.

I think he made Priest better.

At the time he joined priest they were diabolically awful. Stuck in the biggest creative rut ever. We were getting whole albums of filler and then BAM, jugulator!

There was a backlash because it wasn't the same old tripe that Priest had been doing for years. Balls to that, I say.

I was almost I'll when I saw how much time they had onstage, compared to Edguy when I saw them.

2 and a half hours for Dragonforce and half an hour for Edguy.

That's a crime.

Power metal is pretty much based off of Maiden riffs, along with Helloween. The symphonic elements and other stuff like that come in later.

The album before Jugulator was Painkiller. Painkiller was a MUCH more solid album than Jugulator with less filler. That wasn't Ripper's influenc either, as he only wrote one song. He was given material, told "sing this like Halford", basically.
