Well I wanna talk about Steampunk lifestyle in general but it seems were just arguing over whether or not it is a lifestyle. And I'm well aware of what Steampunk is.

Well I'm not sure I'd consider it a lifestyle, but I do consider it a hobby. Though when taken far enough, it is considered a lifestyle, even if it is rare to find someone who dresses it that often. Most people, as I understand it, don't do it daily, or often enough for it to be a lifestyle.

I'd say people like SPG would make it a lifestyle.

I read in Steampunk Bible its fast growing subculture.

That doesn't exactly mean it's big enough to be considered a way of living in general. It's still a hobby that a lot of people have, but don't adopt as a way of living.

Also, a quick google search of steampunk will bring you to wikipedia, where it states that it is developing into a lifestyle. So if you trust wikipedia, it still isn't a lifestyle just yet.

I like some outfits, although a lot just look ridiculous, but you can say that about any type of fashion. I read on here once that there's like a post-apocalyptic type one, but it doesn't seem to be as popular, which is crazy, because post-apocalyptic stuff is the best stuff.

Does Wild Wild West count as Steampunk? Because I rather enjoyed that film.

Steampunk is lovely. <3
I'm fairly certain there's a steampunk thread somewhere in the Real Life Fashion and Style forum, but it deals mostly with the fashion. Nice to see that there are more people out there who are interested in more than just the neat clothes.
I'll probably make a longer post in this thread in the morning, I'm too tired to type coherently at this point in time. xp

Oh god.

I always ask steampunk people if the thing their wearing or carrying actually works. They always say no. I would be astounded if these people would even bother to just make the gears turn. WHY WITH THE HOT GLUE? WHYYYYYYY. sad
