I believe that it is unhealthy to do that because imagining being with your ex, doesnt help you move on. Moving on with your life is more healthy then imagining a relationship that doesnt exist.

I don't think imagining being with an ex is healthy because if your ex's now you need to move on! But fantasizing about someone you've never dated could be fun.
Many people probably imagine what it would be like to date someone new they met and like.

Imagining that you're dating your ex bf/gf however doesn't seem to be a very healthy thing to do, it's better trying to move on if there's very little chance that the relationship can get back to the way it was.

I don't think it's unusual to daydream about those things. I did so when I wasn't over my ex yet, before me and my current SO got together and nothing's going to stop me from fanboying over fictional characters I crush on.

As long as you can keep fantasy and reality apart, it's fine.
