I hate to say it, but that sounds like a variation of the old standby, "I like you as a friend."

But you never know. I don't really ask guys straigt out whether they like me; I just talk to them and then if I'm getting a good vobe I try flirting a little.

it is kind of hard for lads cos once they get emotionally attached they dont really want to let go, that is why most guys try to block anyone from coming into there personal space of thought and emotion, if he already knows all you have to do is ask him out (easier said than done depending on what kind of person you are)
