i helped make paper cranes to be sent to "Paper Cranes for Japan". for every crane they received, they donated $2, which doesn't sound like much, but they raised double the amount of money that they expected to. the three Japanese classes at my school ended up donating about 3000 cranes, generating about $65,000. c:
