It's one of my favorite Shakespeare plays. Probably one of his best tragedies.

So....did Hamlet really see a ghost? or was he just insane?

I think he saw it, because horatio, marcellus and reynaldo/other guards all did too, and I don't think his insanity would have brought him to the conclusions that the ghost did...
