Well, Human is only 99 cents, as are all of Charlene's songs, so it's not terribly expensive. Still, if you don't have a credit or debit card, or if your parents won't let you use theirs, it's not even a matter of how much money they are. It's just not possible to buy them.
But, just because you can't buy any of those songs or donate to the Trevor Project doesn't mean you can't still give a nod to those things.
Mention the Trevor Project to friends or family. Maybe they haven't even heard about it. Raising awareness about that organization is just as important, if not more important, than actually donating money to them. After all, if kids don't know it exists, they can't use it.
Listen to some of Charlene's music if you haven't done so already. (I suggest
Mad Tom of Bedlam or
Magnolia Wine. Those two are my favorite. Also, itty bitty Darren is in the music video for the second one. He also sings and appears in the music videos for
Dress and Tie and
Skin and Bones.) Send the links to friends via facebook and let people who may not have heard about her get to know her music. Or just enjoy her music on your own.
Have you heard any of Meredith's stand-up routines? If not,
go check some of those out. Or maybe listen to some songs from
Jim and the Pavolos.
And if you're still looking to do something directly for Darren, why not tweet him a happy birthday wish?
