Need help finding a game guys! Please!

So my husband and I have been search through games, hes looking for a specific game for the PC, came out NO later then '99 (Old school I know)
Was a redish case with an undead guy on it.
It had overhead view like diablo, but a bit better graphics, know there was a mage class and that it had a hand pointer.
(no its NOT diablo LOL)
Had a short name maybe one word.

EDIT: NO multiplayer. VERY similar to Diablo 1 and Baldur's Gate

Sorry there is not much to go by here, curious if anyone has any ideas as to what it could be. I gave up searching through wikipedia and the 60000 lists. Nothing coming up like that.

It was a single player only game, no multiplayer option that we can recall
