I'm trying to find some information on a couple of creatures of east-Asian origin. I know one is Japanese, and the other I'm uncertain of. I would appreciate any help figuring out what these are called.
The first one is something that happens when a person has brought harm to another, and they are resentful and want revenge. In the middle of the night, shadowy hands and eyes will appear out of the walls, as if grasping at the wrongdoer.
The second is one that I saw in World of Warcraft's newest expansion. Here's a pic:
When I first saw this, it was so incredibly familiar. I couldn't put my finger on it, and I have no idea where I must have seen it, but I know this is based off an old folktale.
