What would it be? To be honest, in Alice In Wonderland, Alice should go around murdering everyone and taking over Wonderland, but that's only my opinion cat_4laugh

Well as I was growing up, a fairy tale is sort of like a fantasy, and Pirates of the Caribbean is a fantasy isn't it?

Well as I was growing up, a fairy tale is sort of like a fantasy, and Pirates of the Caribbean is a fantasy isn't it?

But it's fairly modern. Most fairy tales have a bit of age to them. Also, they tend to be a bit low-key. Usually about a single individual dealing with a problem that happens to involve fantastic circumstances. Like a little goblin threatening to take her child. Or being locked in a tower by a witch. Or dealing with a frog who wants to make her his bride. Or the individual is a pig whose house is being attacked by a wolf.

There's usually a moral behind it though.

Ohhh changing fairy tales, where to start? Hmmm I prefer the originals to many stories and have spent a lot of time looking into them. I think if they replaced the Disney stuff with some of the real stuff, it would be more bad a**. Did anyone else want to see the evil stepsisters in Cinderella have their heels and toes cut off and their eyes plucked out? Sign me up!

For any fairytales that use True Love's Kiss, give it a justification for why it works, like maybe love being the antithesis of magic, and destroying all magic good and bad instead of being a magical cure-all for your problems.

About classifying fairytales, there are a lot that don't have fairies (Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, etc). Generally anything written by the brothers Grimm, Perrault, Andersen, and works that are similar. Disney doesn't equal fairytale, though many of their films are based on them.
