Can someone please justify to me homosexuality in context with Christianity? It's not that I'm against homosexuality, it's just that... I'm a Christian, and I want to know if God and the Bible feel that homosexuality is okay... ty

Well according to some parts of the Bible 'for man to lay with man is a sin and an abomination and some such and whatnot' yes I'm paraphrasing but seeing as how it is arguably one of the most altered, translated, and reworded texts in history then I would think if God is the writer you should look at who the editors were.

The point is that with a literal interpretation homosexualtiy is a specifically ennumerated abomination. I'm not sure how you would justify it while still recognizing that section though...

Personally, I take the Bible with a grain of salt. The Good Book may be considered the Word of God, but that Word was taken down by the hands of men, over hundreds, (possibly thousands?) of years. And since it is the nature of man to be falible, I feel that the Bible may be falible. I also take into account the context the book was written in. The section that condemns homosexuality also includes such things as the treatment of slaves, the proper amount of livestock to be given as a bride's dowry, and how long after menstration a woman remains unclean. Yeah, I'm part of that 'The Bible is not Aboslute' branch of Christianity. Do I believe some of the stories are more metaphores used to prove a point than actual events? Yes. No one can really know for sure what the will of God is till we're dead, and by then it'll be too late to do anything about it.

I know, and I'm glad. I wish there were more gay people. Hell this planet's full of too many people, there's going to need to be a winnowing sooner or later and maybe the gays can provide a more humane way of lowering the population. And enough with the binary it's hard to read.

I believe the problem that most people against homosexuallity have is that it goes against pro-creation. Homosexuallity does not support this principle, there for they see it as wrong.

I see no problem with Homosexuallity, if a people love eachother, why deny them? The world is becomming over populated as it is, and the gay people I've known are a lot nicer than some straight people I've met!

Homosexuallity has been around for centuries. Some people in history were gay, I mean, Alexandar the Great was (I believe it was him)! The huge issues with being gay started becomming prominent when Christianity came about, or at least that's what I can tell from my limited knoledge. Not everyone has problems with homosexuallity, and in my opinion, I think the big spike in people turning gay is because of the increase in population. Moving on with pro-creation when there already is too much of it is asking for trouble.

The Bible DOES say homosexuality is wrong. But, God/the Bible say that if you believe in Jesus/God, you'll be forgiven. I think there is no problem with homosexuality. I am capable of my own thought and I do not need to rely on the Bible for what is wrong or right. Anyone who CLAIMS they are Christian but then says, "GAYS WILL BURN IN HELL!!!One!!!eleven!!!!!!111!!!11111!!!" is stupid and should die and really contradicts themselves, because by their claimed belief, God is forgiving and loving and yay. Besides. Some peopl can't help being attracted to the same sex. :/ Some people might just fall in love with someone, and they HAPPEN to be the same sex. If God really can't forgive people who do that, I'll be atheist. Really. I believe in this subject that much, I'd forsake my religion for it.
