Ok, I have a damaged sector on the HDD. Is there a way to quarentine the sector or make sure it is not used? Or is it junk?
I think if Windows recognizes it as "bad", then it should automatically ignore it.

Of course, I'm assuming that you're using Windows...
If you know you have a bad sector then you're all set. When Scandisk finds it, Scandisk attempts to recover the data off of it, then marks it as bad. *misses oldschool Scandisk*

Yeah, that was great. Unfortunately, I don't think either would work on an NTFS drive...

Even if it managed to run, it would probably rip the NTFS innards out and whirl them around, all the while chanting in tongues.
