What are the Manga Guilds

Are there any manga guilds on Gaia that actually do more then talk about manga, and actually combine to make some?

I would assume there is/are manga guild(s) here but never bother hunting for them. I figure this forum is or would be better than a guild...like, what can you get from a guild (information wise) that you can't get here. whee

You could always join a real live comic club like BAAU, UFO, Umbrella Studio, etc, etc, etc

My problem is I live in a real remote place. I am coming back from a accident and just starting to get back to normal. I like to write and I want to be a particpant in something meaningful. So I am looking for anything I can contribute to and be a meaningful member too. I enjoy manga and anime so I want to write and better promote that.

I am sure there has to be some people doing comics or manga. I just bet they are unwilling to show them selves cause they don't know you or what you can do. I did like your ravenside primer on the writing forum though.

there... those are three groups you can join.

Art Corner is...less than semi-active as a group. I met a few of them at Otakon, nice people.

Umbrella Studio is active, their main focus is on yaoi comic (guys on guys). Very nice people. I met a few of them while at Anime North. respect them EVEN if you're not into gay stufff!

Bay Area Artist Unite seems to me to be the largest group in North America. They have real meetings. I met a few of them, they seem nice.

BTW, what happend. Hope you are getting better. You could start your own local group of manga creators. You could always attend anime conventions and hook up with lots of like minded people like yourself.
