I started listening to classical on the radio a few months ago, but haven't acquainted myself with any particular musicians or songs. What are the titles of some of your favorite songs?
The answer depends entirely on what you're looking for. Classical isn't a genre. It's both an umbrella term for most music pre-1900 and some art songs and specific genres of music post-1900 and a period of music between 1730 and 1820 with its own set of rules. You'd have to be more specific.

Did you hear something instrumental and want to hear more of that? A symphony? A string quartet?

Did you hear an aria from a famous opera? Mozart, maybe?

Or did you want to listen to beautiful Romantic period art songs? Like Franz Schubert's many Lieder?

When it comes to classical music, you don't think in terms of musicians and songs, but in terms of genres and composers. What sort of music got you interested in classical music?

It really is always nice to see someone unfamiliar with classical music become interested, so I don't want you to think I'm talking down to you about it. It's just hard to suggest music for someone without knowing what they're interested in.

I answered a similar question a while back here and I still stand by that post - I feel it's pretty representative of most genres/styles, so it's a good place to start. If you give those a listen and let us know what you liked best from that, we can give you more specific suggestions smile

Pieces, compositions, works...Not songs.

I'm partial to some Mahler, I love a good Soprano so his Symphony No. 2 is a good one for me.

Beethoven's Symphony No.3 "Eroica" is one of my personal favorites as well.

I had recently come across Uuno Klami's Symphony No. 1, which is also great.
