They're desperately trying to make it look "cool" and bring back the extreme market shares that they have lost to Chrome and Firefox.

Yeah, hearsay also has it that in Windows 8 or so they're going to only allow the use of IE by default. I'm not sure about the validity of this though.

all links open in IE, and in full screen. you can install other browsers, but if you check your email and click a link, it opens in IE, in full screen.
