Not a particular genetic disorder, but I do hope to find a way to correct genetic disorders. Right now gene therapy is being tested, but it isn't as successful as scientists hoped. DNA is quite difficult to alter in humans. It isn't like we can use a needle and inject corrected DNA into our bodies - our immune system is much to efficient. Perhaps I will find a new gene therapy technique that works or maybe even a way to cure cancer. Fun fact: cancer can live forever because it contains telomerase. As we age, our chromosomes shorten when they divide. When cancer divides, the telomerase repairs the shortened chromosomes. In other words, if we could find some way to prevent telomerase production in cancer we might just be able to make it vulnerable. 3nodding
