Have any of you ever used the app Yik Yak?

I had it for a while and deleted it a few weeks ago because where I live, the yaks were nothing but slow posts about racism, ignorance and how every woman is a ho. And me on the other side of that yak responding in defense of how their views are so-close minded.

And the yaks were always asking about needing to ******** someone in the area.
-shudder-

But then the moment I go into Manhattan, it becomes the clever and witty posts I favored on tumblr. But I couldn't take the ignorance anymore and deleted.

What have your experiences been like if you own the app?

I use it a sometimes. There are some racist post but they usually get called out on it and/or the post gets downvoted. I find people trying to meet up for sex and the ignorance funny so I guess that's a matter of perspective. I also have slow yaks where I live but I'm at school often so there's more going on there.

i enjoy the posts on twitter from that app though.

My area just has a bunch of sports crap about the college near by

my campus is pretty big on yikyak so it's good to keep up with everything but at the same time we're very racist
