My Gaia > Dress up
Then save your avatar again. This happened to me one time, and that's all it took. Though it's automatically supposed to do this, it might be a bug following after the new layout.

I suppose that's fine after you've bought the new hair style, but how do we preview it? I won't buy a new look until I can see what it will look like, and like KittySaysRAWR mentioned, when I hit the "Preview" button the pic doesn't show.
