How do I get one?

Since every Genome is unique and not colored premade templates (except the Seed stage), only one or very few will be available with each sale.

Seeds will be available mostly through auctions and RP events. RP-contest like flatsales are a work in progress.

+ No bid retraction!
+ Bids start at 50K plat
+ Only bid what you have! Bidding and not paying later will get you a one way ticket to the blacklist!
+ No item bids. Cash only.
+ Auctions run for 3 to 5 days
+ Minimum bid raise is 1000P
+ If more than one Seed is available, always write on which one you are bidding on! (Simply state the seed color)
+ Snipe Guard will be 15 minutes. If more bids are made, the time will be pushed back 15 minutes from the time of the last bid.
+ Auction end time will be stated in GMT and Pacific time because the Operator lives in Europe and the thread monkey is somewhere on America's west coast.

+ Flatsales will usually have some sort of RP element to them, be they personality contests, or mini events. Rules will always be posted before a few days before an event starts for questions.
+ The basic cost for a flatsale is 50K platinum
+ We will not do straight up speed flatsales

If they are still Seeds when up for sale, how do I know how they will look like?

Simple. You don't.
However, the color of the seed may indicate some of their later features. I.e. a red leaf will most likely mean the child will have red hair.
And of course you will know if it is a boy or a girl. :3

A long time ago, a technical advanced human race lived in outer space, controlling a huge region and inhabiting a lot of different planets. They were a peaceful race, set on exploring and developing new technologies and collecting knowledge of any sort.
However, one day a quarrel between the rulers of two of these planets started, soon throwing the entire race into war. For years and years they fought on, but no side seemed to be able to gain the upper hand.

Until one nation developed a new kind of weapon. Genomes, artificially bred humanoids that excelled them in strength, intelligence and resilience by far. They grew fast and were easy to train into perfect soldiers.
The war raged on, but it was no longer those that started it who fought it. A spy from the other nation managed to grab the information on how Genomes came into being, and soon they were building up an army of their own, making them fight each other.
And so, the war was on even terms again, and many more years passed.

With their superior intelligence, the Genomes slowly began to question their creators' motives.
Then, one day one of the Genome leaders, Aren, who had been among the first that were created, stepped up to his brothers and sisters and asked them if they knew why they were fighting their creators' war. None of them knew, and it became evident that not even their creators' knew any more.
Aren set up a meeting with the opposing sides Genome leader, Zeal, which resulted in a peace treaty between them.

For a while, there was peace.
However ... the ancient race was not willing to accept the Genomes as equals, as they were their creation and never meant to be independent. Slowly, they began to fear and antagonise them, leading to numerous disagreements and quarrels between them.
While the Genomes wanted nothing more than peaceful coexistence with them after knowing nothing but war and fighting for all their life, the humans were afraid that they would seek to control them.

Eventually, their fear led to another war, as they turned against their creation, seeking to destroy them now that they were no longer needed.
But it was a war that they could not win. Although far greater in number, they had created the Genomes to be weapons, and they exelled at that. Together, the former enemies Aren and Zeal led their brothers and sisters in the fierce struggle for their survival.
During the final days of the Liberation War, as it would later be known, Zeal fell. In his blind rage over his companion's death, Aren destroyed their creators homeworld along with every other remaining settlement, eventually leading to the human's extinction and the Genome's freedom.

Combining their small battleships into a few huge colony ships, the remaining Genomes split up to find a place to live in peace and create a society of their own.
Aren named an Operator for each of the ships who would pose as a leader of the group that would inhabit it. He then installed each ship with the system that was originally made to create them: Mother.

Bidding farewell to each other and their painful past, the Genomes set out into the vastes of space.


A small world sleeps peacefully amidst the sea of stars, oblivious and ignorant to the perils of deep space, the endless darkness that lies beyond it's borders.

This nameless world, small as it may be, is full and vibrant with life. Lush forests and wide plains overshadowed by mountains and enclosed by crystalline lakes and rivers and the glittering ocean far on the horizon.
Countless unknown creatures inhabit these unexplored lands.

It is one day that the peace is disrupted by a bright light, a shooting star that falls from the sky and crashes into the western woods.
But it's no shooting star but a spaceship, damaged, straying from its course and crash-landing on the only inhabitable planet within range. A colony ship, the faded letters on the hull reading 'Utopia'.

The ship is void of life but for four survivors that step out of the broken vessel and into the bright sunlight of what is to become their new homeland.

Genomes are artificially created humanoid beings that once were made by a technologically advanced race long forgotten. Their origin and homeworld are lost to them as well as the knowledge if other colony ships are still out in space or on other planets.

Genomes have three basic stages of growth and can ony be created by Mother, the colony ships mainframe. She uses the energy of the ship and DNA codes stored in her memory banks to turn them into seeds.

Natives are spirit breeds originated from Utopia. Noone is quite sure where they come from, not even themselves.
Certain is one thing:
Sometimes a spirit chooses an unborn animal, i.e. a bird and merges with it. The child is then born as a sentient, humanoid being that possesses traits of the animal it was supposed to be before.
On more rare occassions, they are just created by the spirits on a whim and are born from the elements themselves.

Seed / Egg
A Seed is just that: it is very small and fragile and similar in looks to a plant seed, hence the naming.
This is the first stage of a Genome. Seeds are created by Mother from DNA code and pure energy.
The Seed is then placed into one of the ships growth tanks and guarded by Operator One.

Natives, unlike Genomes, hatch from Eggs.
This is the first stage.
Eggs are randomly found around the planet and taken to the colony ship to hatch.

You can't RP in this stage yet, but Operator One highly advises you to follow what's happening around here in the meantime, stick around in the main thread and prove that you can be active.

The development to a child takes 3 to 4 weeks at most.

Child
When the growth is completed, the newborn will awaken to the world. It is a child in body and mind and requires a lot of care and guidance.

Like all children, they are innocent and curious at this stage, so it is advised that they find thier strenghts and talents and invest in them.
Most children like to stay together for protection, since they are still physically weak. Because of that, children can't venture beyond the shield barrier of the colony ship.

RP is possible from this point on.

Children start off with the mind of a human child somewhere between 8 and 12.
They know about certain things instinctively, just like they know how to speak, walk, read or write. it's kind of imprinted in their dna.

The growth of a child into an adult takes a minimum of six moths. If you are fairly active, it may grow just then, but it may also take longer if you only hang out once in a while to fulfill the RP requirements.

Adult
The final stage of any Genome or Native. They are physically grown now and can venture out into the unexplored lands of the world they inhabit.

Adults can utilize weapons and finish mastering the skills they started to learn as a child as well as take on a profession buiding on those skills to provide to the growth of the community. They can also create offsprings.

















Elder
The stage of evolution.
This is not a basic stage of growth and thus may or may not be available for your character. Evolution is a whim of fate.

Other than other Adults, Elders can master more skills and reach higher positions within the community. Because of their evolved DNA they can, in theory, produce more than two offsprings.

As the Elder stage is not something promised, it is only - if at all - available to very dedicated players. Meaning: only Genomes that are RPed a lot and thus have a very high level may be considered.

The planet, dubbed Utopia by the genomes, orbits around one of 2 stars in a binary star system. The planet has a 24 hour rotation cycle. As it passes between the two stars, the days are warm and bright. There is no true 'night' in the warm months, but just a brief period of dawn and dusk lasting roughly 2 hours each as one star sets on the horizon, and the other rises.

As the planet passes from between the two stars, and continues orbit around the primary star, the days become more defined, and night begins to fall. With night comes winter. Utopia cools and snow is not unheard of in some parts of the planet. In winter, nights last just as long as the days.

For now, the only accessible places for children are the colony ship and the area inside the shield dome. Adults can venture out and explore the continent of Bareshir. The Great Wall can not be passed by anyone. More will be available later.

The Colony Ship

A huge part of the ship has been destroyed during the crash, but the center part is still intact. These include Mother's chamber, the growing chamber and the remains of the bridge, but those are off limits to the Genomes. Only the Operator may enter here.

However, a part of the living quarters is also still intact. This is where the Genomes live until a settlement has been build. Genomes with an affinity to science tend to keep a quarter inside the ship permanently, but are not required to.
There are 40 quarters available in total that you are free to choose from as long as they are not yet taken. Quarters may also be changed at any time and can host one or two inhabitants, in rare cases even three if a young offspring chooses to stay with his parents until adulthood. Again, this is not required, as children can choose for themselves.

The main area also includes a community meeting hall, a kitchen and a food storage that will hopefully hold out until the children are more or less self sufficient.

The Shield Dome

An area of about 4 kilometers in diameter around the colony ship that is protected by a force barrier. Only adult Genomes can pass through it and it serves as a protection to both the children and Mother.
Inside the dome there are various places to go.

The Basecamp is a small clearing on the front side of the ship where the first small settlement will be build. It is surrounded by a lush forest on two sides and a river on the third.
Beyond the forest is a clear lake ideal for fishing and swimming, like the river, and around it and beyond the dome are vast green fields.

On the backside of the ship is a small mountain range that is partly accessible because the force field of the dome cuts right trough it on some parts. So there may be even more and steeper mountains beyond it.

Mother

Unlike the others, Mother is not a Genome. She is a partial android body build for visual purposes only. Beyond that, Mother is an artificial intelligence, the main computer of the colony ship.
However, she is programmed to have the option of free choice in many ways and is able to at least partially simulate emotions.
Mother is very important and worshipped by all Genomes, because she is the only one able to give life to them and prevent them from going extinct.

Aren

He is the supreme leader of all Genomes and also one of the oldest of their kind. The colony ship's Operators such as Ghost were hand chosen from his elite and serve as his substitutes in his absence.
Originally being a quite kind and caring nature despite the fact that he was created to command one of the two opposing fractions and not supposed to have any emotions at all, he turned into a cold and ruthless warrior after Zeal's death, committing genocide by wiping out their creator's entire race in his fury, leaving none alive.
Still, by the Genomes he is worshipped as their liberator and hero, and they look up to him, even though is whereabouts are currently unknown.
Aren was last seen taking off with the colony ship 'Blackbird' the day the Genomes split up to find new home-worlds for themselves.

The Travellers

Not much is known about those two. As treasure hunters they stranded on this world from a parallel dimension.
They have explored a lot of the continent Bareshir and provided Ghost with a map. Their homebase is currently in the abandoned town of Saresh close to the great wall.

Affinity

There are three different types of affinity a character can have. They are defined with birth and can not be changed. So choose wisely.

Science
Most older Genomes that were born before or during the age of war have this affinity. However, even in the present colony age, children are born with the affinity for science.
Characters that possess this are skilled with all things technical. They learn fast, hold a great thirst for knowledge and can even invent things when studying enough.

Nature
Since the colony age and settling in a rich, green environment, more Genome children are born with the affinity towards the nature surrounding them.
Naturally those children feel drawn towards the outside world and tend to live there, choosing tents and cottages over the ships quarters.
They also hold the ability to understand nature better, are good at cultivating plants and raising animals and tend to have a soft, caring character.

Force
Force is the affinity towards spirit power. Not much is known about this trait yet, but characters that hold it may develop all kinds of uncommon skills. Some were even said to have been telepaths.
(This affinity will also be the only one that will allow a character to learn magic later on when discovered.)
However, Genomes with the Force affinity are mostly either very withdrawn due to their natural empathy or erratic and extremely easy to provoke.

Skills & Jobs

Children can choose which way they want to develop their skills, but can't master them yet.
Only adults can master skills, which often takes a long time. So please keep in mind when RPing that your Genome will not be a master combatant just because you choose to become one one day.

Skills can be either scientific, combat, natural or force skills.
You would also do well to remember that skills and jobs should always go hand in hand and fit to their natural affinity.

A job profession can be chosen as soon as your child grows into an adult.
Your job defines the settings of skill points for battle, but more on that later.

Leveling
(under construction)

Your character has two different levels.
Levels will raise with RP and Combat.

The more (quality) posts you will make while RPing, the higher your characters RP level will go.
Posts are counted by the Operator on a regular basis and level ups will be postet in the guild.

Your combat level raises with battling.
Higher levels will give you the ability to use better weapons, certain boni etc. in the future when your character reaches the adult stage.

The level does not directly affect growth. You don't need a certain level to reach the adult stage.

To become an elder however, you will need both RP and Combat Levels on 10.

Genomes are artificially created humans that were meant to be weapons. As such, they are infertile an can't have children the usual way. However, thanks to Mother they can have offsprings, genetically creating them the way they were made by their creators ages ago.

Because of this, same gender breeding is possible and not uncommon for Genomes.

Natives of opposite genders can have children the natural way no matter their spiritsoul. They can, however, ask Mother just like Genomes. This is required with same gender breeding or crossbreeding with a Genome.

So, if two adults fall in love with each other and wish to have a child, they can make a pledge to Mother to grant them one. If Mother choses to comply, both parents will donate their DNA, which is then combined and used to create a seed.
In very rare cases, the combination of two DNA codes result in two seeds.

Each Genome can donate his or her DNA two times at most (with the exception of Elders), meaning they can have at least two, in rare cases three if twins are born or in very, very rare cases four offspring.
Natives also can only breed twice, unless they are elders.

A pledge to Mother can be made whenever a breeding slot is open. And you can fulfill the following requirements:

+ both parents must be adults or elders
+ your pledge to Mother must be made via RP. If more than one couple applies for the slot during a given time limit, mother will choose one. You can see this as a contest.
+ both parents must be able to donate DNA. If one parent already has donated his or her DNA to mother twice, a child between those two is not possible! (again, Elders are exceptions from this rule as they can donate more than two times)
+ You need to be able to pay a fee of 50K plat per seed. You may split this between the two parents' owners or have the one who decides what will happen to the seed(s) pay the whole fee. That is entirely up to you.
+ You must decide what happens to the seed before you apply! If you can't name who you want to give it to if you are chosen, it will go into the Operators care. You can not name a friend as an owner after you have been chosen for the breeding slot and the seed is made, so be careful.
+ Make sure whomever you want to give the Seed to is able and willing to follow the rules and has made him or herself familiar with them before applying.
