Will the canon Senshi be available in this shop?
No. Only one figure from canon will be appearing in this shop, the rest are presumed dead/not in this time-space continuum. The canon character will be an NPC.

Can I import characters from other shops?
Yes. However, please use OUR forms for the characters and adjust the locations, etc. We have no problems with characters from other shops, but please change look and outfit if the art is not yours (we will not be copying the exact same costume!) because we don't want any art-theft going on here, kaaayy?
This goes for cannon events etc. Every shop is different; please do not bring events from one shop into LOS.


Are there *leader* or special senshi?
No. All constellations and zodiac signs are on the same level as every other senshi. In this, every senshi is special; you do not need to bow or owe allegiance to any one particular senshi. All characters start out equal and end that way. No final stage character will be higher in status than any other without actual RP events putting them there.


How many characters can I have?
As many as you can carry home. But keep in mind, too many characters can mean some get neglected. We may also end up running 'fresh faces only' events if we find too many hoards and not enough players.


How do the laws of reality affect your shop?
Real.... ality? J/K. Actually we ascribe to the laws of anime. You can read them here. What this means for the shop is basically; any colour of the rainbow is a perfectly normal hair and eye colour. Everything Explodes. Everything. And the human body is fully of blood, often pressurized. We would prefer you keep it within semi-realistic bounds (a single punch won't bring down a building, for instance) but physics has a very 'loose' hold on anime and manga, and that's what this shop is all about

Why won’t you be having the canon characters for sale?
Primarily this shop doesn’t want to focus on what we have seen in the anime and manga, we don’t want to repeat the same experience that you can get from watching Usagi saving the day in the series, we want you, the players, to create your own experiences. Part of the fun is building your own heroes and villains and making your own story, your own legend. By removing the canon characters, we feel the floor is left open for your protagonists to shine.

But there will be one character from canon as an NPC?
Yes, only one, and that character will be a minor building block.

If I don’t play my character for six months, will they be rehomed?
Probably not. If a character has not been played in a long time we will just ignore it for the most part. Your character won’t grow, and we will be less inclined to offer you other characters as a result, but only you may apply to have your character rehomed.

Why no guardian animals?
As playable characters, no, there aren’t any guardian animals. There is one guardian animal in this setting, Selene, who controls the Moonlight Garden, she is an NPC that can be controlled by anyone, however. There are rules to controlling Selene, so please keep those in mind when running scenes with her in it.

Will there be corrupted/evil Senshi?
It is entirely up to the player. Senshi are not innately ‘good’ or bad, it is what they do and how they act that defines what side of the fence they sit on. Although Discord can infect a Senshi with her chaos energy, turning them to her will and corrupting their essence, this can be undone by a Senshi with the right healing/purifying powers. The choice of which path a Senshi is travelling is entirely up to that Senshi.

What are utility powers and how do they work?
All characters have 2 powers; a combat ability and a utility ability. A combat power can only be used in their powered form, but most utility powers can be used in civilian form. Final stage characters get a second powerful utility ability when they reach that stage. Like any power, the utility power should relate in some way to the character's themes but it is completely up to the individual as to how this works out.
Some example utility powers for Acolytes: short-ranged teleportation, sensing energy, making youma, mild mass hypnosis (room of zombies at their command), cursed/corrupted objects.
Senshi utility examples: pretty disguise make-up (as per the cannon-Moon), Luna-P hypnosis (cannon-Rini), dream visions (canon-Mars), Light (as per the lvl 0 arcane spell), hammer space, energy restoration.
Sprite utility examples communication with plants, communication with animals, water/land purification, energy restoration, minor healing, disguise as a plant.

So what exactly is the Starlight Wand? What does it look like?
Oh no young grasshopper, you will not learn that secret just yet. The Starlight Wand is supposed to grant wishes. Supposing it was made by the Senshi who watches over the space cauldron, or perhaps it is a relic of the universe itself; it is supposed to grant 3 wishes to whoever holds it and wishes with all their heart. Two of those wishes have already been used up, only one remains. When it was stolen, the Fairies hid it somewhere, maybe on earth. But no matter what you do, the fairies won’t tell you even if they know about it.

Is there a certain number of posts that need to be done for a PRP to count? And same with solos do they need to be a certain number of words?
At least 4 posts each in order for an RP to count, so 8 posts brings us to an RP that can go toward completions for both sides. We will not have a word count on this, currently, unless people take advantage of this. For solos, we expect at least 400 words (that's two paragraphs) for a solo to count. ORPs with 3 or more people will need 16 posts in order to count toward advancement.


Do Senshi need to be given their henshin wand from Selene to transform?
Yes. ....HOWEVER, for their very first initial awakening, they do not always need their henshin wand. Perhaps the wand is locked inside them and emerges when the circumstances are right. In these instances, normally Selene draws the wand from the senshi, but sometimes it must come out on its own.
In all other circumstances but their first awakening, they must have a henshin wand.


How do Acolytes awaken?
Basically, awakenings for Acolytes come when they are 'sworn in' to Discord once more. Their powers are granted to them by her. They do not have to be physically in front of her, as long as they acknowledge her and accept the power from her. This is easier if they have their memories at the time, but the transformation into their 'true self' brings out those memories as well.


Who summons youma? Can acolytes summon youma?
Youma wise: Discord sort of summons/births them
other acolytes can summon them if that is their utility power/one of.
Power wise for discord: utility; summon youma and consume energy. combat: turns people to stone with her eyes (like medusa)


How are the gardens found?
the gardens can only appear outside in nature. (so maybe in a pinch in a park in the middle of the city) but typically in actual garden-areas. The pathway is only recognisable to senshi and acolytes most of the time (though random civies have been known to stumble upon them accidentally) the first 'part' or portal is always a staircase leading up or down (direction is irrelevant) out of sight, swallowing into mist or just blurring the air around them until suddenly the garden is around them. The steps are never very consistent either; could be three steps and into the garden or three-hundred.Campus grounds; the gardens might appear in the campus lawns and lead off.


What do the uniform color's mean?
White uniforms are for students who have either recently transferred into the school, or young first years who age between 13-14.
Black and grey are students who are 15+ and have attended the school for over a year.

Let us begin with the words that will put you most at ease as we spin our tale. For you will need what comfort you can gather as this tale unfolds.

Once upon a time, there was a War; unlike any war before or any war after. The War could not be called big or great, it could not be called glorious or terrible because it was all of these things and so we called it The War.

It did not start in just one place, nor was it between one single group or another. The seeds of this War touched every land and every heart; for it was a War between Love and Destruction. The War lasted a long time, stars were snuffed out and whole civilizations perished as The War waged on. Until finally a Pink Rabbit found a magical wand made of stars and wished for the War to end.

When the smoke cleared the Pink Rabbit saw that both sides were joyful to finally stop the fighting for they had long ago forgotten why they fought. Warriors were weary, so, She wished again that the weary lay down and sleep sweet dreams with no shadow of the violence they had faced for so long. These two, selfless wishes, made the Pink Rabbit for those she cared for with all her heart. And then the Rabbit saw the destruction and the debris of The War that had raged across so many worlds and so long a time and her heart grew heavy for the Starlight Wand had only one wish left.

She had wished The War to end, and now there was peace. She had wished the warriors to rest and now they slept in joyful dreams. The destruction caused by The War could be cleaned up without a wish wasted, surely. Hadn’t she done enough for everyone else? The Rabbit thought, couldn’t she have this one, last wish as a reward for all she had done?

The Pink Rabbit raised her arm to make her final wish—but the Starlight Wand was snatched away from her by her most beloved and trusted ally. The Wand was taken from her hand, secreted away and hidden by the fairy of dreams. For among her many allies, only he had seen what the Rabbit would wish, and what would happen if her wish should come to pass.

And so people cleared the rubble themselves and rebuilt their worlds, and slowly life in the universe continued and renewed. The Fairies guarded the Starlight Wand and the Pink Rabbit was remembered as a hero who had ended the long War.

But nothing lasts forever, not even a wish.

Selene the Watcher has awoken; drawn from her peaceful slumber that had kept her all these years because of one terrible ripple that she could not block out.

The wish of slumber has broken.

Once a general in a vast army, Selene must race to gather the Warriors of the Moon and is now faced with a decision that weighs upon her heart. To find the Starlight Wand and make a wish that will last or gather a force strong enough, mighty enough, vast enough, to withstand another War.

And if the wish of slumber is now broken, soon the wish to end The War will undo.
But Selene is not the only one to awaken, Discord, General of Chaos, the Seven Headed Dragon God, has also broken from her long slumber. She works to mount her forces so she might overwhelm Selene and her followers before the Moon can muster their army. Discord will take the wand for herself, with her own plan to bring about a final end to the conflict.

Reborn as you are, you must choose whether to honour old alliances or forge new ones. It lies to you, Warrior, to bring about a true resolution to a long nightmare. Will you use the power you now hold for good or ill?

And what wish could anyone make to continue peace? What Sacrifice will you give for the sake of others?

The Starlight Academy
One of the most important things to know about Starlight Academy is that application to enter the school is virtually meaningless. Only those who are invited to join this highly prestigious school are accepted. Every year invitations are sent out to those who qualify. There are no fees associated with the school (save those of getting there) and there are no restrictions on where one might come from to arrive at the school. Often, teens do not know what about them qualified to enter this place, but with its excellent education standards and strict rules, it churns out some of the most influential and famous individuals in the world. It is said, by entering the Starlight Academy, all your dreams can be realized. Some parents’ dream of sending their children to this place, even those who live in Starlight City do not automatically qualify. Only the mysterious Dean of the school can illuminate just how and why students are chosen as they are, and the school board does not appear to have much influence on these invitations.

The school was built by a Senshi or other powered individual to attract ‘potential’ and powerful souls. It resonates strongly with those imbued with star seeds and seems to have a magic all its own. Rumours, especially those about haunted rooms, are plentiful. In mystical terms it is built on a vortex of gathered energy, and this energy seems to have infused the very buildings themselves with a sort of life.

But to the mundane it is still an exceptional education facility. An international school, it teaches four languages and has several cross-language classes. With over 3,000 students, dorms and forest track for riding horses, three swimming pools and four sporting fields, it is a self-contained town. There are two main cafeterias with six unique and different canteens between them, all with different, rotating menus. The dorms hold two per room; each room has its own shower and toilet, modestly furnished with a bed for each student, two writing desks for study and a television. Teachers and Prefects all have a single room to themselves. There are three libraries at different ends of the campus, although few dare venture into the East Wing library because it is haunted by the ghost of a dead girl who is said to attack anyone who makes a noise above the faintest of whispers.

School Rules
xxOO1.Curfew is 9PM, all students are to be in their rooms by this hour, no later. Any student found wondering the halls after 9PM will be disciplined.
xxOO2.While on campus during school times, students are to wear the school uniform at all times when not in their dorm.
xxOO3.Girls may not shorten their skirts more than 2 inches.
xxOO4.Students of opposite sexes should not be in the other sex’s dorms after 9PM. Violations of this rule will be met with discipline.
xxOO5.No bullying or fighting on campus. Any students found to be disobeying this rule will be disciplined.
xxOO6.There is no such thing as ghosts, magic or disappearing gardens, any student found to be spreading rumours about these false horror stories will be given yard duties for a week.

Starlight City
Starlight city grew from the school, small, as far as most cities go, with 4 million residence and a happy, complacent atmosphere. The mayor is a former graduate of Starlight Academy and donates heavily to keep the school running as good as it was when he was a boy. The city is young, but one of the fastest growing in terms of population, some of that population is transient, families that move to Starlight City while their child is enrolled, but there is always less than two or three degrees of separation between the Academy and most jobs.

The Garden of Serenity
A beautiful rose garden, it holds many extinct and lost species of roses. A passageway leads from the mundane realm into the mystic, the path always leads upward, a slight hill marked by antediluvian marble stairs engraved with Greek myths mark the passage of ascent until it reaches a quaint, modern white picket fence gate. The gate is often open or ajar for those the Garden has called forth. Here swells a large stone temple, plain white marble pillars lined in silver and gold embossing. A water fountain trickles with moonsilver liquid to the east and the scent of roses is almost staggering. Petals litter the ground everywhere and the time is always early evening in the Garden. It is warm, but a cool breeze plays against the skin. Inside the temple walls are lined with nine beautiful women, each statue is holding a crystal that represents a sailor crystal. One crystal seems to have been shattered and remade into the shape of a flower. A pool takes up a large portion of the back wall of the temple, steam rises from it. This bathing pool is always accompanied by two thick white towels on a nearby bench. A small doorway leads to another room, through which entry is not permitted.

The Garden of Discord
It is a dark and dangerous place, filled with beautiful but deadly plants. It mirrors the Garden of Serenity in layout, with black obsidian carved temple in the centre. The statues in the garden are failed acolytes whom Discord turned to stone with her powers. If you stand close enough to them, you can still hear the screams.
The garden is permeated with the smell of rotting vegetation like a swamp and the small insects and animals that lurk in the dark shadows there are nothing friendly or kind to innocents. It is believed that at the back, behind the temple, there is a large muddy mire, wherein Discord bathes.

Senshi

Sobriquets;; Seishi, Warriors, Lights, sailor scouts, do-gooders

Description;; Every part of the universe has its defenders from those that would conquer or destroy. Those who stand for love, justice and peace. These are warriors who have fought for a long time under the pain and heartache of their sorrows. Countless lifetimes, countless stars and battles. They bear the heaviest burden that any soldier can know.
Not all senshi have been reborn on earth, but many went 'to sleep' there. They have spent a long time, several life-times in completely mundane forms, they have had perfectly normal, happy lives. And even though those lives haven't been exciting, some are downright slumber-fests, they have been without battles, without the weight of worlds upon their shoulders. Now, the memories and the responsibility is back, a pressure to do what their sworn duty is, to defend the innocent, love and justice and peace. Some forgot that duty long ago, during the War, others want to forget it now.

Stage Description;;
Senshi: you have just been given your henshin pen and your memories have flooded back in. Your ready to fight evil and make some friends and rekindle your past alliances and violence.
Super-Senshi: Your outfit is starting to look fancier, shinier and your powers are more kickass, you are starting to get a feel for your path in life and you have some experience under your belt.
Eternal/Princess: PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWER! Itty bitty package. You can now travel to your own castle in your homeland, possibly see all those people you left behind so long ago and crossing you is not a wise choice in combat.


View of Others;;
Sprites: They are pretty rare to see unless something is wrong, and they won't work with you unless they've screwed something up, so they rely on our powers a lot when we do see them. They are powerful allies if you can prove to them you're worth their time, but their motives and their moral compass can be... different. Their leader has the Starlight Wand but they claim he's missing; pretty convenient if you ask me. The whole universe is about to erupt in fire and they don't care? There has to be a way to convince them to help us for the greater good!

Acolytes: Had to know that the Seeds of Chaos would spread once more. They are evil, opose us at every turn and would turn Earth into a crater if given half a chance. Like those that strip-mine a lush rainforest, they have no respect for life, love, freedom or this world. The sooner we can end this war, the sooner they can be purified and become better people.


Sprites

Sobriquets;; fairies, goblins, elves, spirits
Description;; Sprites come from a pocket dimension of flowers, dreams and pixie dust. Since the War they have cut themselves off from the human world by closing most of their portal gateways in or out. Only a few Sprites have snuck through or remained stranded in our land. These powerful few search for the King of Dreams, their lost leader who is thought to be in possession of the Starlight Wand. While they have their own battles and reasons to fight, most Sprites have been raised to assist those in need, and the energies that Discord's minions gathers would serve as an excellent means to re-opening a portal or two back home or help them find their missing king.
It takes a strong warrior to live in the metal jungles so cut-off from their origins and it takes them a while to acclimatize, thus they do not access their full power until they are used to this world.
Sprites are named after flowers but many take on a "human" name in order to fit in without causing a stir. Their human form makes it impossible for them to use their magics, so they must change back into their natural form in order to combat with their powers.
Sprites traverse the mortal realm mostly with mundane methods, however, they are able to tap into the 'ripples' left in reality by the Gardens shifting location and 'hitch-hike' in the mystical waves of these ripples. Meaning they can follow both senshi and acolytes to various locations across the world. They can sense the movement of the gardens, not necessarily the energy that might be at the end of the journey.

Stage Description;;
fairy: Weak from entering this realm of metal and easily confused by some of the stranger technologies, it is hard to use your full powers here.
Daione: A warrior once more, you have gotten used to the drain and differences in the world and you are able to fight through it.
Aes: CALL ME QUEEN! You have the sort of powers that only royals gain. This makes fending off monsters and people who want to steal your 'pixie-dust' a little easier at least.

View of Others;;
Senshi: They forget we are not children like them and they are full of childish reasoning. Senshi are good allies but they attract trouble like pollen to the bees. They might be sweet, but there is always a sting somewhere in the future with them.

Acolytes: Clumsy, arrogant and dangerous. They're worse than senshi because they don't have all those rules to keep them in check. But they do half the job for us, so thank them when you steal the energy they've collected for you.

Sobriquets;; Seeds of Discord, Agents of Destruction, Servants of the Darkness, worshippers of Discord, Fallen Warriors, youkai

Description;; Warped with the negative energy of chaos and destruction, these Servants of Darkness serve their own selfish goals with their dedication to the Seven Headed Dragon. Rife with in-fighting and constant competition, they find it hard to keep a united front when left to their own devices, but the chance to gather energy and feed on life-force is also a chance to rise in status and power and strength, with enough strength, they might overthrow Discord and take her place as rulers of the shadow-forces.
Many of the Acolytes are former generals in a vast army of those who desire power or those who hold a great loyalty to Discord. They have been reborn on earth to mundane lives, never able to achieve their greater goals, or only ever tasting the placid regular lives of those who do moderately well. Hungry for the chaos that once gave them the power to rule. Those who have been corrupted or were born to this corruption can be purified but they never fully loose that darkness inside of them.

Stage Description;;
Acolyte: You have just received your first infusions of chaos and negative energy, still unsure how to use most of your powers and new to the hunger for more, you are low on the totem poll. Proving yourself and getting your paws on enough energy could help change this.
Master: Your power has grown and so too your standing, you control more underlings and you are now a force to be feared.
Paradigm: You have the power to challenge Discord herself, and no one can stand in your way! Now you can attain true power and rule these measly mortals.

View of Others;;
Senshi: Interfering little girls in ribbons and skirts. They have high and lofty views of themselves and can't see the trees for the forest. Moral objections and would-be heroes. Taking them down should be a pleasure and a chore. Sick of constantly fighting them for a slice of the cake.
Sprites: They might as well be senshi for all the trouble they cause, worse, they don't play by the rules and barely observe the tenants of the treaty. And they have sticky fingers.

Selene

Kind and gentle, graceful yet filled with an untold sorrow. She is unable to leave the Garden of Serenity because her essence and power sustains its mystical properties. Some believe she is a Princess, but while she is tight-lipped on the subject of herself, she is merely a guardian cat. She maintains her human form so long as she remains in the garden. She is unflappable and easy to forgive and forget; she is almost impossible to anger, and rarely raises her voice. She is not cold or hardened enough to be a leader in times of war as her policy is to turn the other cheek. Her long sleep has drained the fight out of her. She doesn’t take prisoners or torture or want to hurt anyone any more, Discord now takes advantage of this weakness. Selene is a player-controllable NPC, meaning you can write her into your solos or group RPs without asking permission, have her do things or give instructions, but there are four golden rules to using Selene in your RPs:
xxOO1.Selene will never, ever leave the Garden of Serenity in an RP. Stepping out of the garden seems to terrify her, and nothing short of knocking her unconscious and dragging her out will get her past the little garden gate. If your character /were/ to do this, you would find she turns into a slinky silver-furred cat outside of the boundaries of the garden. She would also probably have cause to strip your character of their Senshi-dom if they do this, so it is inadvisable.
xxOO2.Selene will never yell, be rude, or act cruelly to a Senshi, even if it would be ‘a spoonful of cement is needed’ situation. She babies, coos and leaves them to their own quiet retreats when they are distressed. She will only hug if it seems appropriate. She won’t get angry at impertinent questions and she doesn’t yell unless someone is far away and walking up to speak to them is unlikely.
xxOO3.Selene can sense ‘energy’ and auras of locations, that is how she sends the mystical tendrils of the Garden all over the world. It is how she locates negative energy wells and chaos-energy formations. She can sense the disturbances in the force. Some might be hidden from her, but she will generally feel ‘uneasy’ and send Senshi to investigate. However, the Garden can only be in one place at a time, so she cannot send one person to Tokyo and one person to New York through the same doorway—in game-play terms this means that in the same RP, you cannot have characters in two different cities if they both left at the same time. One character must wait for Selene to move the garden to the other city (This can happen in a single post, but just keep it in mind for consistency.)
xxOO4.Selene cannot be bullied/coerced or forced to move the garden so that a girl can go shopping in Milan or get a coffee in Belgium. Characters can grab food/do whatever when they are in a city, but she will not willingly let the teleport system be abused. If your character somehow tricks her, fine, but Selene isn’t dumb, and she will be pretty upset about it. Enough to not send that Senshi on missions for a while.

Discord

The Seven Headed Dragon, General of the armies of Chaos. Sharp like a battle axe and prone to mood swings she is unpredictable, arrogant and deadly. She has a refined speaking pattern and rarely uses contractions; she does not take kindly to those who use slang or poor grammar around her. The Seven Headed Dragon feeds on the fear, anger, and chaos that her minions harvest for her from mortal energies. The feeding allows her to make more minions. Although she styles herself as a God, even her powers have limits and she has yet to locate the Starlight Wand. When she does find it, she will use it to end the War, a battle that even she grows tired of fighting.
Discord is a player-controllable NPC, meaning you can write her into your solos or group RPs without asking permission, have her do things or give instructions, but there a few rules to using Discord in your RPs:
xxOO1.Discord will rarely speak in a vulgar manner, she is a consummate ‘lady’ and will act relatively refined unless someone angers her enough. When she is angry, she will usually lose the human ‘meat suit’ and take on her true form. Most people don’t like to argue with a dragon for they are squishy and taste good with ketchup.
xxOO2.Discord does not ‘do’ errands or leave her Garden. She will always send others. While she can leave the Garden, you better hope it’s not to save some idiot from being skinned by the Senshi, because she will probably turn them to stone herself just for the inconvenience.
xxOO3.The Seven Headed dragon can sense energy and the build-up of energy. She also senses prime-real-estate for harnessing such energies. It’s sort of like a smell to her. She needs this energy to feed, she needs to feed to create more of her ‘children’ and corrupt more souls. She needs them to feed her and raise her army; so really, she’s always hungry. She controls her Garden to send her Seeds where they can gather the most energy. However the same rule applies to Discord’s Garden as the Garden of Serenity; only one place at a time (see above.)
xxOO5.Discord does not like her children wasting her time, abuse of her generosity in letting them serve her by using the Garden’s teleport for their own ends /will/ get them punished. But… if they happen to be going to Milan for a new pair of shoes, they could always buy her some and hope it appeases her wrath. Also, bring her back some delicious energy and she will forgive you. Most of her thoughts are on feeding and attaining the Starlight Wand, so if it is not to this goal, you are hindering, not helping.

The Dean of Starlight Academy

There are some who say that there is no Dean, that rumours about the Dean were spread to keep people in line. There are many mysteries that surround the key share-holder and controlling faculty member of the school. Since very few have seen her face, these rumours persist to the levels of ridiculous. Some students that are almost nearing graduation recall a speech over the school intercoms congratulating one of the basketball teams for winning an international award, say that the voice was a woman's voice; but the film and audio clubs have no record of this speech made by the Dean, perhaps the recordings just went missing...
Whatever the case, those students who know what the Dean looks like are not telling, and those that are curious might be so for a very long time. She has a strict routine and established route from her room to her office, and seems to be off at strange hours. Her doors are locked with very hard-to-pick codes and Prefects patrol the hall near to her room. The Dean seems camera shy as well and often issues statements for other teachers to read on her behalf. Perhaps she's hideously deformed and hides away in the dark for this reason?
The Dean is not a player-controllable NPC.
