S T O R Y L I N E:::::......

Air. Water. Earth. Fire. These four elements blend to create a harmonious balance within the scheme of nature. The human element, however, has always caused an instability in that harmony. Betrayal, lust, and a case of mistaken identity has caused the scales of the universe to topple over and the world erupted in a war so great that the harmony that once was, was all but forgotten. The air was thick with hatred and grudges that ran deep.

There was one safe haven, however. This city was called Valhalla, the city of the gods. What gods would choose to stay in this shabby city was questionable, however. It was little more than a barracks. With only a handful of match box apartment buildings, and a few small businesses in tow, it was not a number one tourist spot for sure. It was all that the refugees of the war had, though, and for them it was home, at least for a while.

Just outside the walls of Valhalla was a hidden Water Village. It was much like a museum in that way that it had retained its traditional caste system. Within its fantastical world of Elders and splendid water antics, a deep secret was buried. An artifact had originated there and was discovered by a young woman by the name of Alex. Unknown circumstances intervened and the woman's bones lay in a shallow grave in the nearby forest. Only the ancient necklace and her diary remained to tell her story.

The two objects were found by a Water using traveler by the name of Serena Hexum. She read through Alex's diary, learning of the young woman's travels and ideas about the mysterious city of Valhalla. Not long before she herself arrived in the city, she was confronted by Tabor Schwert, an Earth User with a personal vendetta against the Water Tribe. The two fought bitterly, nearly destroying the city block. Their fight was interrupted by a Fire User named Samiel Kalba and his Air User friend, Jeremy Grayson.

Another Earth User by the name of Lana Chu overheard Serena talking about Alex, and as it turns out, Lana and Alex had been acquaintances before Alex had disappeared from Valhalla. Lana set out on a journey to find her friend's body to gain closure, and was joined by Tabor and a hot-headed Fire User named Phoenix. The motive of the latter wasn't so pure, both Tabor and Phoenix were looking to destroy a Water Village, not so much out of some great revenge, but just because it seemed like a fun idea.

Eventually Serena met up with another Water User by the name of Amelia Gess and the two vowed to stop Tabor and Phoenix from killing people. Currently, they are in the nearby Water Village, waiting for battle to ensue. Lana, Jeremy and Samiel are on the way to the Water Village to find out more about Alex's necklace and what it means for Valhalla. Tabor and Phoenix returned to Valhalla in order to practice shielding their auras so that they too could get into the village undetected.

Events rushed by...Samiel was informed of the Water Users' position and sent a message to Tabor and Phoenix in Valhalla; it was time for the battle, once and for all. What happened exactly is hard to tell, but the city was left half in ruins. Buildings scorched by a flame so hot, it could have been the work of the Devil himself. Underground reservoirs of water were evaporated and crushed under tons of molten rock. The streets caved in and jagged expanses of rock reached high up into the sky, cleaving the village nearly in two. After all was said and done, there was not one left without injury of some sort. All that had been gained was a deeper tension between all involved and a few broken bones.

TO ALL WHO WERE INVOLVED PREVIOUSLY: Start your post with a personal description of the fight, maybe a blurry memory or something. I'm hoping this will allow us to accelerate the story since it's been going at such a slow pace. All I ask is that you stick to the "break even" storyline. Neither side won, everyone was hurt and the Water Village is suffering substantial damage. Add details; break friendships, gain alliances, betray your group, whatever you want in order to make it interesting. If you have any questions or concerns, PM me and we'll talk about it. We will be starting a couple hours after the battle, wherever you all individually feel like. Keep in mind the posting restrictions of a few of the members so don't trap yourself with a character that can't respond too quickly if you're looking to move forward. Alright, that's enough of that; now get to posting!

R U L E S & E S S E N T I A L S:::::......

.......:::::One thing that you MUST keep in mind is that is an Avatar inspired roleplay. I don't want to see any Tophs, Angs, Sokkas, Kataras, Iros, or any character names from the show. To keep you from going in that direction all together, your character pictures will be real or as realistic as you can get them. No ANIME. If you aren't sure if your picture qualifies, ask. I also don't wanna see s**t about "bending," or the " Fire Lord". Use Your goddamn creativity to find new ways to tell how you are manipulating the elements. When sending your profile, title your profile whichever element you will be playing. Send it to LOBOTOMYartist. And remember, no one is perfect. To reach the end of the Attacks list, in your profile, in your bio, it has to speak of training. Not just, "a freak accident" or "in the face of danger," and definitely not " he/she doesn't remember how she did it, it just happened and he/she was stronger than ever." I will kill you.
.......:::::Romance is encouraged, but no love-at-first-sight bullshit. Flirt it out first. Draw the creepy lurkers in, for Christ's sake! Once the clothes are off and the seducing begins, if you feel like you must satisfy your horndog needs, take care of it OFF GAIAONLINE. No one wants to read about you sticking your hotdog through a doughnut. Trust me.
.......:::::When it comes to fighting, be detailed and no auto-hits. That s**t makes everyone want to choke you! No God-modding. Ever. The second time someone complains, your a** is grass. No one is perfect here, there are no omnipotent characters, and you cannot be anything other than a member of the air, water, fire, or earth tribes. No goblins, no elves, no pixies, and no flipping dragons. Follow the Basic Powers and take nothing from Avatar. Use your ******** head. Or I will kill you.
.......:::::I am addicted to swearing. I just love the way it feels when my favorite word comes from my mouth. I tend to over do it sometimes, but I will tone it down for you sensitive critters out there. Swear if you want, but keep in mind other people. Insulting is nice too, but, the sensitive critters.... If you and another RPer don't like each other, don't argue in this thread or the Ooc thread. Take it to PMs if you feel like that's what you must do. At worst, quit. I'm sure your character will be missed no more than two days.
.......:::::Your posting will be pretty. Add some color, icons, photos, and other junk to make it nice and sexy. I'm not saying stretch the ******** thread! You can keep it cute and simple, nothing too fancy, and nothing too dull. No bright colors and no fonts smaller than 10. There is a two paragraph posting MINIMUM. No one liners. Period. I shouldn't even have to mention text talk. If I see it, I will kill you. Period. Two paragraphs is writer's block. One, is extreme. Don't make one a habit. I will kill you. If you leave for more than two days, warn someone. PMing and the OOC were made for a reason, use it or lose your place in our little family.
Also, send LOBOTOMYartist a 100x100 icon of your character along with the regular sized picture. I use avaguru, and you should too. Add the effect I have used in the character section of this thread. Having trouble? Scroll down the middle, and choose the effect with the plain rounded edges.

Added rules from the one and only, LOBOTOMYartist:
.......:::::CONCERNING POWERS: Everyone is limited to their own individual Elemental powers. These include manipulation of said Element in battle or in everyday life. The strength of the power is determined by the amount of training that one put into their Element. So if your character is 15 years old, he/she couldn’t POSSIBLY have had an adequate amount of training to merit awesome strength. Keep this in mind because over-powered characters really piss me off.
.......:::::AURA INFORMATION: The ability to sense another Elemental-user was something that MurdertheMasses and myself discussed and tried out, but it got a little out of control. From now on, the ability to sense auras is reserved only to Air Elementals because they are more defensive in nature. There are other ways to “sense” people, however. Earth Users can sense the vibrations in the ground from movement, Fire Users can sense body heat…use your imaginations. BUT! Do not overuse this ability. It is NOT radar and people cannot be sensed if they are too far away or if they describe the extra precautions that they have gone to in order to remain undetected.
TL;DR: Only Air Users can sense the auras of other people, but only if they’re close by. Other users can sense people, once again, only if they’re fairly close by. It’s not radar. ><

For all newbies who are terribly confused as well as the absent minded Vets among us

History Lesson:

The War
The Organization

Shrouded Pasts:
Phoenix Kanapima
Tabor Schwert
Lana Chu
Serena Hexum - was driven from her native Water User village when it was destroyed by Tabor. The natural tendency from then on was an extreme distaste for the Earth User

Items:
The Necklace - An item belonging to Lana's friend Alex (also the writer of Alex's Journal), which led them to Atla in search of its hidden meaning. The jeweler refused to yield details, though his reaction led the group to believe that it had some archeological significance. It was lost to the group after the destruction of Atla.
Alex's Journal - Found next to the bones of its owner by Serena, the journal gave insider details about Valhalla and eventually led Serena to the city itself. Alex knew more than she should have, thus resulting in her death.
Dragon's Tear - A device forged by Samiel in order to strengthen his power. It's corruptive nature, however, caused it to become lodged in his hand and has caused him physical harm as well.

The Elements (a 'brief' explanation)
EARTH

Associations: Responsibility, stubbornness, inflexibility, strength, pragmatism, empathy. Growing, nourishing, protecting, blocking. Scent.

General earth powers focus on rocks and soil. Tearing up stones, creating walls from the ground, shaking the earth to throw off an enemy's footing, and so on are techniques commonly employed by traditional earth users. Used internally, earth powers augment strength and endurance. The most common passive earth ability makes the user extremely sensitive to vibrations in the ground (earth or metal). Another might be to sense life itself, allowing an earth user to detect plants, animals, and humans by their animating force.

Metal is a subcategory of earth in which the wielder is more comfortable with ore than other rock. Those who specialize in it have a much easier time shaping pure or worked metal than other earth wielders, and can often alter subtle things like density, heat capacity, or conductivity. They also have a greater or lesser control over magnetism, and some can passively sense magnetic fields.

It has been theorized that a metal affinity arises when an earth wielder also has some affinity for fire.

Plants are a subcategory of earth in which the wielder can cause green things to grow, both unnaturally swiftly and to sizes they could not attain biologically, and move rapidly. Plant users can more subtly affect plants, causing changes in them that are lasting and will be passed on to their offspring, although it takes a longer time for changes that are not only permanent but self sustaining. Some plant users can passively sense plants, and use their powers to get an idea of an unfamiliar plant's properties.

It has been theorized plant affinities are a result of earth tainted with water.

The natural extension of this is that there should be some earth subcategory stemming from the influence of air. Control over animals seems a likely result of this. I would guess an earth wielder with an animal affinity would be able to communicate in a limited way with lower life forms, and possibly coerce or suggest courses of action to them; possibly they would form a particularly strong bond with a specific animal, giving rise to old stories of witch's familiars. We have yet to see anything like this in play.

Earth can also be used for healing, usually in conjunction with a plant (or animal?) affinity. Healing with earth is usually strongly assisted by herbs and poultices, and is not so much quicker than natural healing as better – more thorough, and more effective for even the most drastic wounds.

WATER

Associations: Adaptability, compassion, persistence, apathy, ambivalence, mutability. Changing, healing, calming, emotion. Touch.

General water usage focuses on the moving and shaping of water. This is best when a source of water is around, so great waves and jets of it can swamp or unseat and opponent, but any water user worth their salt can also condense water from the air in all but the driest of environments, and use the small quantity as a storm of tiny, high-velocity projectiles. Traditional water training generally includes enough practice in healing to deal with bruises, cuts, or first aid. Used internally, water magic is well balanced, increasing both strength and grace, although it is not as effective offensively as earth, nor as effective defensively as air. Passively, most water users are aware of any concentration of liquid near to them at all times, giving them an easy way to detect humans; however, water users raised to the old ways learn how to shield their blood from being sensed by other water users at an early age.

Ice is the water affinity that manifests most often, allowing a precise control over the temperature of water. Ice wielders can create much more effective weapons, which depend on keen tips as much as speed to penetrate an opponent's body. Ice wielders can also heat water, causing it to evaporate, and control the resulting steam, so 'ice' is actually a bit of a misnomer. Ice wielders occasionally manifest a fire-like ability to passively sense heat, although they are limited to the heat of liquids.

Ice affinities probably arise from a taint of fire.

Healing is the very broad water affinity theoretically resulting from a hint of earth affinity in a water user. In the most general sense, it is a tuning to living things; but unlike the earth plant or animal affinities, it is focused on the individual processes of a body rather than the whole. Most healers employ their skills for others. Water healing is the miraculous healing which can repair a grievous wound in a matter of minutes. However, a healer who uses their power internally is a nearly unstoppable fighting machine, since so long as they have magical energy, they can repair any damage they take almost instantly. So-called 'blood-bending' is usually another manifestation of healing, allowing a water wielder to manipulate the liquids within living things, although some approach blood-bending from another angle by simply refining their control over fluids other than water.

We haven't seen it, but theoretically a water user might have an affinity for 'emotion' or something similar, and be able to sense and manipulate, not coherent thoughts, but human emotions and feelings. This would be water tainted with air.

Weather control requires equal parts air and water, and is best attained with the aid of a fire wielder as well. Theoretically, any of those three might be able to exercise a very crude and imprecise control over weather.

An aside – water users often feel that the moon is related to their element, possibly because of its relation to tides. Whether the effect is psychosomatic or mystical, water wielders do seem more powerful and energetic when the moon is full, and less so during a new moon or lunar eclipse. Some say months with a 'blue moon' are best for complicated water workings, although others argue that's stupid, since months are a human invention and people ought to be on a more stringently lunar calendar anyway.

FIRE

Associations: Temper, passion, quickness, violence, caprice, wildness. Heat, light, purification, consumption. Sight.

General fire usage involves creating and controlling fire. Starting, shaping, and putting out flames allow for a wide variety of destructive attacks. Heat can also be controlled, an object being warmed (or cooled) without actual flames being involved. Using fire magic internally increases dexterity, granting the user an almost precognitive ability to dodge attacks and find openings to strike. It can also be employed to raise or lower the body temperature of the user, as a whole or selectively; fire users are very difficult to kill by their own element. The most common passive fire ability allows a fire wielder to sense the temperature of their surroundings, easily identifying body heat.

Electricity is the subcategory of fire thought to result, in various circles, from a tainting by earth or air. It can be used for anything from destructive lightning bolts to powering an appliance. Some electrically affiliated fire wielders claim to be able to sense and even manipulate the subtle electric fields of human and animal minds, but it seems as though that might be its own specialization. If it is, however, a mastery of electricity, then it suggests the electrical affinity arises from air rather than earth taint.

Illusion is another subcategory of fire, and involves the very subtle creation and bending of light. Illusionists can, at the most basic level, summon light in darkness, or create an area of darkness where there should be light. More advanced illusionists can create phantasms, although such creations, if purely made of fire, have no somatic or tactile components, being mere three-dimensional images; illusionists can also disguise themselves or others, altering hair color, facial features, etc. Illusion is probably a tainting of fire with water.

Fire can be used for healing in a limited way, by purging wounds of foulness or burning off infection. While it does not patch or mend directly, it can prevent things from getting worse, and sometimes provide the body with more energy for healing itself.

Fire is strongly associated with the sun. Most fire wielders consider themselves much stronger during the day, and consequentially, they prefer to wage war during the daylight hours. When fighting the fire tribes, one does not usually have to guard against an attack under the cover of darkness.

AIR

Associations: Intellect, irresponsibility, wit, flightiness, speed, inconsistency. Thought, motion, perception. Sound.

Air used externally is good for burst attacks; wielders are trained in shaping wind, either into large, flattening gusts or sharp edges. Moving air aside to create vacuums is sometimes used as a defensive trick, particularly against fire attacks. Used internally, air magic increases agility, although not quite to the level that fire magic does; it is, however, a more sustainable quickness, since it makes the wielder functionally lighter and oxygenates the blood, preventing them from becoming winded. More mobility and acrobatics, less near-prescient dodging and attacking. Air users can passively perceive 'psychic noise'; all can read the auras of elementals with varying levels of aptitude, allowing them to identify elemental affinities and strengths of other wielders. Most conventionally trained elementals, however, know how to contain or otherwise hide their auras when they are not actively using magic.

Since auras are not 'real,' all air users tend to perceive them differently. Most have a sense that they interpret auras as registering as; most see or hear auras, but some smell, feel, or perceive them in an even more abstract way.

Flight is not really a subcategory of air, but it comes naturally to some air wielders, and at great difficulty to others. It can either be achieved externally, by changing air pressures to lift you, or internally, by lightening and lofting one's body.

Telepathy / metamagic is possibly the most common air specialization, and so broad that some consider it to be two different subcategories. Telepaths are usually more passively sensitive to auras than other air wielders, and many can also passively sense other psychic noise, including that produced by magic in use, magical items, 'places of power', or even thoughts directed at them with sufficient intent. Telepathy mainly encompasses the entering of people's minds and reading and rearranging their thoughts; metamagic deals with containing, deflecting, or amplifying the magic of others directly (rather than the effects of that magic. Usually telepaths exhibit some metamagic capabilities and vice versa, although it is extremely rare, if not unheard of, to find an elemental who is strong in both.

More about psychic noise and whatnot in this mess:

Both earth and fire have been suggested for the influences that would cause an air affinity to bend towards telepathy and metamagic. It has also been theorized that telepathy is actually the basic form of air magic and conventional air shaping is a result of that being polluted, but very few circles take this seriously.

Sound manipulation might be another subcategory of air magic, a very precise creation and manipulation of pressure waves. It is the audible analogue of the illusions some fire wielders specialize in, although the most popular theory is that it originates from a taint of earth affinity in an air user, since some sound wielders can sense vibrations in gasses passively the same way earth wielders sense vibrations in solids.

Air Villages:
Mimir - An isolated city that prides itself on the wit of its Air wielding population. They have managed to stay out of the main throng of fighting, but they are confident that if they become involved that they can defeat their foes.
Vali - Located on the opposite coast of Mimir, Vali is more of a collection of small townships that work in a symbiotic manner with one another in order to survive and keep itself protected.
Vor - Vor is the only official Air village that was formed separately from the main claimed territory by the Air Users. They work closely with the neighboring members of the Water Tribe in order to try and secure a lasting peace in the North.

Water Villages:
Kafli - The northernmost Water Village. Users from Kafli are often especially skilled with snow and ice manipulation due to the climate.
Aegir - Located near the tip of the western peninsula, Aegir is an ideal training spot for many Water Users.
*Atla - The location of the Great Water Village Battle which tipped off the Organization as to the current locations of their subjects as well as their first real look at their true power and ferocity.
*Njordr - The largest Water Village that was leveled by Tabor during his five year rampage. Njordr was also the home of Serena Hexum up until the time it was destroyed.
Ragnarr - A mostly agricultural town that pools its resources with the neighboring Stori in order to stay safe and affluent.
Stori - An industrial town that had formed a trading relationship with the more agricultural Ragnarr to the west.

Fire Villages:

Forseti - The neutral influence of Valhalla and the Air Tribe has more or less mellowed this town to the point that there is very little fighting if any within its borders.
Syn - One of the more technologically advanced cities left in this part of the continent. They have a working monorail system as well as a steady supply of self-generated electricity within its boundaries.
Surtr - A mysterious town that is said to be very traditional and unwelcoming of outsiders.
Loki - A rogue Fire Tribe city that popped up in the Rhineland between the Earth and Fire strongholds. Though many attempts have been made by the opposing tribe to bury Loki, it stubbornly manages to hold its land.

Earth Villages:

Colossus - An isolated Earth Village, surrounded by land conquered and claimed by their race.
Vestarr - A very small town that seems backwards in its technology, most areas haven't had access to electricity or running water since its original founding.
*Tyr - Located on the Western edge of Earth User territory, this small town nestled in a valley is hardly known beyond the Earthen community. Tabor Schwert's hometown.
Bolverk - This particular northern town often clashes with the stray water encampments that pop up in between the defined territories. Citizens of Bolverk are very wary of outsiders, even of their own element.

Neutral Villages:
*Valhalla - The biggest neutral city to date. There is very little if any real fighting within its walls. It is controlled by a mysterious group of people, though no one will step up and take a real leadership role. There are several barracks on the outskirts of the town, this is where Phoenix Kanapima spent most of her life growing up.
Hallerna - Located between two vast expanses of Earth and Fire conquered areas, the 'neutral' village often finds itself torn by battles and has become something of a refugee camp.
Gudfrodr - One of the few cities left in this part of the world that still prides itself on the Classical studies. Jeremy's Alma Mater, St. Francis' University, is located in a nearby unaligned area near the former location of the English Channel.
Eir - Set in a very peaceful area, Eir is home to many neutral Elementals who try to live their day-to-day lives with no mention of the war.

"Serena! Serena wake up! Please wake up!" A little boy shook the girl's arm. Grogily, Serena sat, putting a hand to her forehead hoping it would ease the throbbing. No such luck. When she removed her hand she noticed that she was all scraped up. "Kolby... What happened?" The boy started to cry and his next words came out inbetween sobs. "They attacked the village." The moment he said that, she was brought back to what happened.

As fuzzy as the memory was, she knew what happened, and who caused it. Serena and Amelia were caught off guard. They were watching Kolby. No, Kolby was watching them mindlessly water bending. Then there were fire explosions. It must have hit close to them, because she remembers being knocked off her feet. She remembers getting up and seeing them attacking the village. She had tunnel vision. She went right at them, She whipped her signature water cannon was about to shoot, but she had the wind knocked out of her. It was definitely not by them. It was by someone else. Someone she knew? Who was it? Regardless, the person swept her from the scene and deep into the forest.

Serena was surprised that the little boy had found her, seeing that he wasn't with her when that person swept her away. "Kolby, how did you find me?" He had calmed down then. "Don't you remember? Kyle got me after he got you." Hearing his name was like getting hit by a train. Kyle. The man who betrayed his village and managed to help Tabor kill the entire village. Kyle saved them? The moment of nostalgia was replaced by irritation. They hardly needed saving. Serena could have protected them without help. She asked the little not if he was sure, and he only nodded a yes.

The trek back to the village was a short one before they smelled the ashes. What a sight to behold. It was destruction in it's purest form, at least the whole village wasn't in ruins, but it was fairly substantial. The villagers were picking up the pieces of their shops or stores slowly. The sorrow that was so clear in their face made Serena physically flinch. Her hand went up to the ruby necklace that the elders gave to her a few days ago. The necklace meant that she was a temporary guardian of the village, but a guardian nonetheless, and she had failed. She unclasped it and let it fall to the ground. Kolby almost immediately picked it up and started to fiddle with it. Moments later he handed it back to her, though there was no more ruby, instead he replaced it with an intricate clear stone. He looked up to her. "You're my guardian." She could have burst into tears with the look he gave her if it wasn't for the ash all around them, She grabbed his hand and the two walked through the village, as if facing a storm.

There had been much speculation about what really happened that day. Some said that the Little One and her team had stormed in and captured the village, but others, they said that on sight, the village attacked them. From Phoenix's memory, from just days before she and Tabor would make their way into the village, she remembered sitting on her brother's couch, drinking a beer and discussing all that had happened and planning what would happen. Her brother,Roger, the much more level-headed fire-user, had arranged for back-up, a supporting force for his sister and the people she grouped with. Roger had contacted their father and asked about the easiest most efficient and successful way to take over an unsuspecting village and got the information easily. It was as simple as playing dress-up. Aura-shielding, traveling in, surrounding, and down fall.

The plan, then, with Roger's advice had taken on a new life. Instead of murdering the villagers, they would destroy everything they had. Roger, though he was much more quiet and easy-going than his sister, was an entirely different case of sadism. He wanted to leave those waterbugs living with death hanging over there heads every single day.He wanted them to starve and live the lowly lives they were meant to live. He wanted death to be their only hope of escaping the hell they would create when they ransacked the village. He wanted them to blame each other. More importantly, blame Serena. He explained it all with a coolness that almost seemed uncharacteristic, if you didn't know his sister, that is.

The aura-shielding business went to work two days later. Samiel was the one who told them it was time. It was something about growing suspicions and out of balance scales of something philosophical that Jeremy mentioned. Phoenix and Tabor headed into the town, and a few eyebrows were raised. The village had been warned about a short woman with raven hair of the fire tribe, and a tall mustached man of the earth tribe. When the short woman and man arrived, both with blond hair, and the man without a mustache, the village warriors didn't worry much. The couple seemed to be newlyweds or something, word has it, traveling through local tribes to help protect against enemies. They were given those damned necklaces and lodging without. Around midnight, Tabor and Phoenix met up with Lana, Jeremy, and Samiel to trade information. At the break of dawn, Lana, Jeremy, and Sam, had been taken to the center of the village as prisoners. When the sun rose fully, Phoenix and Tabor joined the rest of the guardians there to watch. Serena hardly recognized the little Fire-user. One after the other, Tabor and Phoenix unclasped their necklaces and released the hold on their auras. They wouldn't let Lana and the other two be tortured.

Until Phoenix made her way to Lana, no one moved for a while. She had to get them free first. But at the feel of ice cold water running down her arm, she turned. Between the water hippies and Tabor, Phoenix , and the gang, a brawl broke out. When Roger and the supporting force joined, a hell broke loose. Phoenix managed to get one of them down and unconscious and went to work crushing the warriors with their own buildings. Tabor had sharp boulders coming out of the earth left and right. Samiel was kicking a**, and Jeremy...His face took on a look of an eerie kind of peace as he fought. He could have been Jigsaw's brother.

Phoenix hadn't known about Amelia, but she was quick on her feet. Amelia was good, she'd give her that, but not good enough to stop the real-live Human Torch from knocking her on her a**. She would have finished the job, but she hadn't any idea who the chick was or why she was so bent on fighting her. There was no joy in killing a stranger. She walked away instead. Trusting that the girl wouldn't attack her while her back was turned.

As she walked through the ruin, she lowered her temperature. Scuffling was heard here and there, but mostly, there was nothing. Smoking buildings, jagged rocks, cracked pavement. It looked as if a bomb went off in the place. There was a numbness in the back of her head, and she felt herself falling, and the searing pain working its way into her head. She couldn't to her feet in time to retaliate. Phoenix was about to push herself off the ground, when the pain intensified. Darkness followed.

Samiel Kalba
"Drip....Drip....Drip...Drip." Samiel lay floating face up on the water, he couldn't remember what had happened too well. He remembered being chained while the sun rose and then a deep burning anger that had filled his enitre being and sent him into a rage attacking all the water people he could reach. He had been dimmly aware of other fighting but he himself haad gained tunnel vission and coated his hands in magma punching holes through everything he could reach. The last thing he was aware of was an explosion so powerful it had whipped him away into the sky.

He felt some of the feeling return to his limbs and he raised a hand to his head, he was shocked to find his whole body covered in hairline scars only visable if you looked closly but what suprised him more was the Dragon's eye he had used now appeared to have fused into the palm of his hand. He could feel it with both his mind and his hand but it was different like an extra limb, groaning he attempted to sit up and pain arched through his bones indicating he had probably damaged something important. Using the little energy left in the gem he created a tiny fire sparrow and sent it to look around using it's eyes as his. The damage was incredable it looked like a meteor had hit the village with all the smoking ruin left behind.

Finding his location he found his body had washed up on the nearby shore and he was sure he would need help. On an idea he brought the bird back and converted it's energy to send a weak pulse of fire into the air above him hoping that a fire wealder would be looking or Jeremy. A small tear came to his eyes as he remembered Jeremy, they had got seperated in the fighting and he didn't know what had happened to him "What if I failed....What if I failed to keep him safe?" he thought quietly to himself as the tear rolled down his cheek.

"All we do crumbles to the ground though we refuse to see." - Dust in the Wind, Kansas

The darkness behind Tabor's eyelids was deep and spacious. It felt as if he were floating in a warm sea of nothingness, thought it was not an empty feeling. In fact, he felt surrounded by a familiar feeling as memories flooded in from his subconscious. Images moved in front of his eyes as if he were watching a movie that he was also a part of. Phoenix's whiny voice bounced off the inside of his skull as the shadowy figures in his mind sharpened and gained features.

"So explain to me again what we're gonna do? Holy s**t! Ah! What the hell is that stuff?!" Tabor's voice barked as the strong smell of chemicals became quickly apparent and he felt Phoenix's gloved hands run quickly through his hair.
She rolled her eyes and shook the bottle as she dispensed a small amount and rubbed it into his hair, "It's dye, Tabby. I told you, we need to be in disguise or they'll catch us right away. Or maybe I just always wanted to see what you looked like blond, it's a fetish of mine." The dripping sarcasm in her voice was nearly as intolerable as the stinging liquid she rubbed through his hair. He glanced up at the mirror in front of him, he looked like a new man though all he'd really done was shave. His transformation was nothing compared to Phoenix's though. She was barely recognizable as the sassy fire user he'd become so familiar with, now with a golden mane styled high like a cheerleader, she would easily pass for a stranger.

The scene dissolved and changed to a few hours later. Both Tabor and Phoenix were outfitted in clothes neither would normally be caught dead in. Phoenix wore a patterned dress that looked like something out of a 50's sitcom, and Tabor wore a striped button down shirt tucked into a pair of khaki shorts that rose up just a little too high for his liking. Neither of them made a fuss, they both knew it was to give them an advantage and keep their disguises true.
"They'll be expecting us." Tabor said sullenly as they made their way toward the Water Village. "I don't know how long they'll be fooled by a shoddy dye job and a change of clothes."
Phoenix glared up at him, her eyes piercing like a blade, "We'll be fine, just don't lose your cool."

The scene changed into something that looked like it was out of a war documentary. They separated almost at once when the fight started. Tabor stood his ground and sent powerful tremors into the flimsy foundations of the buildings around him. Most were damaged severely if not completely leveled. He felt a cold stream of water hit him square in the chest with the force of a fire hose, nearly knocking him over but he held his breath for a minute and stood against it. Multiple attacks were launched his way and though he managed to deflect some of them, a large well-aimed chunk of ice hit him straight in the back of the head. He bit his lip hard, breaking the skin. It distracted him long enough that an ice blade managed to make a deep cut in his forearm. He gritted his teeth, spat a stream of blood into the dirt and launched a large boulder at the group of Water Users who were teaming on him. They were knocked aside like bowling pins, at least one of them never to get up and fight again. The memory began to lose focus and fade, forces were staggering in numbers, streams of ice and water jetted passed, the searing heat of flame exploded like a bomb and the last thing Tabor remembered was being airborne for a moment before smashing into a stone wall.

The world outside his head flooded with light, and a bright hue of red illuminated his vision. Teetering on the edge of consciousness, he squeezed his eyes shut and groaned; he easily could have been a sleepy middle-schooler fighting the clock for five more minutes of peace. He was brought to full consciousness by the sound of hurried whispers and light footsteps rushing from the room. He opened his eyes slowly, allowing them to adjust to the sunlight that came in from a far window. It was a white room, he would've thought it was Heaven if he wasn't already pretty sure he was going to Hell.

Before he could say anything, he felt a hand clasp around his mouth and heard a quiet voice whisper harshly into his ear, "You need to get out of here before they come back, do you understand? I know you're hurt, but I also know that you're strong. Come on, quick quick!" His eyes darted toward the figure at his side, she was peering up from the side of the bed, a hood obscuring her features. Tabor didn't question her, honestly at this point he just wanted to get out of here and figure out what was going on. He ripped the IV needle from his arm and followed the woman out through an obscure back passageway. As they got away from the building, Tabor looked back and saw it was some sort of clinic but with bars on the windows.
"Oh s**t, they locked me up already? Figures, cheap bastards will take a man while he's down." He commented, though the woman didn't respond. The scenery was unfamiliar, the lack of rubble made it clear that they weren't in the Water Village but it was too rural to be Valhalla either. "Where are we going?"
"I can't tell you. Just keep following, you'll find out soon." The woman's words were concise and Tabor noticed her glance back at him a time or two.
[******** blond hair, I look like such a douchebag.' he thought and then his mind wandered to Phoenix and where she could possibly be. She wouldn't have died in the fight, right? No way, she'd never let herself get killed by the water tribe, she couldn't...

As much as everyone speculated that there was always a bright side to any situation, and that inside every bad person was a little spark of goodness; they also soon found out that everything had a dark side. What it took to bring that darkness out was different for everyone, but in the case of Lana, it was being threatened and looked down upon for the last time. After being accosted by the shopkeeper and being rescued by Samiel, Lana felt a deep shame. She didn't want to have to be protected when she knew very well that she could protect herself, she was a strong Elemental whether or not anyone wanted to believe it. As the day wore on into evening, they were being cast out of establishments left and right simply for not being Water Users. 'Maybe Tabor was right.' she thought as she got up from the ground after being shoved down, 'They are nothing but elitist pigs, they don't want harmony at all.'

The final straw broke when they were thrown out of the library and then promptly taken into custody by the guards. They were locked in a small room, too small for Samiel to use Fire to free them, and with no access to Earth or metal, Lana was useless. At dawn, they were dragged into the center square to be tortured in front of the entire village. It was barbaric, like a witch hunt of the early days. All at once, the fight began to break out. It wasn't for a few seconds of searching through the crowd that Lana finally caught sight of Phoenix and Tabor. Without a moment's hesitation, she used her abilities to shake the balance of her captors and ran by Tabor. She fought with him, mirroring his moves and adding bits of her own to tear down the metallic beams that supported some of the structures. Her eyes seemed to glow with a devilish rage at all the destruction that she wrought on the village. She caught Tabor's eye for a moment and saw that he was surprised. She smiled, she was so full of power that she felt amazing. The Water fighters were no match for her, their attacks didn't so much as slow her down. Near the end of the fight she saw an explosion knock Tabor against a building and he didn't seem to be moving. She lost concentration for a moment, wanting to go help him or at least make sure that he was still breathing. A huge ice chunk hit her straight in the back of the head when she was distracted and she fell to the ground as unconsciousness took her from the battle.

Lana's eyelids fluttered open as memories of the battle roused her from her deep sleep. She didn't know where she was for a moment, it was a sparsely furnished home at best. The quaint furniture had an old-worldly charm about it, but there were also modern touches such as a television set that looked like it wasn't used very much as well as a stereo system. Lana saw that she was lying in someone's bed, though she couldn't remember what happened. "I guess this isn't what my father meant about waking up in a stranger's bed after a night you can't remember..." Thinking about her father brought a small smile to her face. She found her glasses on the bedside table beside her. The frame was slightly bent but they were still useable for now. She sat up, the dull aching in her head was a little annoying but thankfully she wasn't seriously injured, she wished that she could say for sure that the others weren't either. There was a window above the bed and she stood on her knees to peer out of it to maybe get an idea of where she was. As if by some miracle, she saw a hooded figure and a tall blonde man approaching the house. She squinted and immediately recognized Tabor's disguised form. Her heart leapt into her throat with glee! At least he was alright, she had feared the worst when he fell.

She stepped out of the bed and then began to walk toward the front of the house, hopeing to find out more about their mysterious rescuer and about what had happened to the others. Lana had a feeling that everything was about to change, not only with their little group, but with the entire world.

Mardaxe "Ward" Darkholme

"Despite the Lies that your making,
your love is mine for the taking,

My love is, Just waiting,
to turn your tears to roses,"

Ward came to conciseness not really sure about what had happened, he remembered walking into the water village, something had been going on, then a fight broke out. he groaned his hand raising to his head his palm resting on his forehead as his eyes opened crimson red, meeting the sunlight that nearly blinded him, "god....what happened..." he muttered to himself, as he remembered the explosion only barely having time to call the flames to him to form a wall in front of him so he wasn't blasted backwards to far. his eyes closed and he flopped backwards, his mind moving through all his limbs, feeling for how much damage was over his body, his ribs hurt but he figured they weren't broken just bruised, his arms neck and face stung slightly like he had scratches all over so he figured he wasn't that badly hurt.

Some women came over to him, and poked him with what felt like the end of a broom, "is he alive?" he heard a woman ask when he didn't respond to the poke, "i don't know some one check his pulse..." another responded.

Ward opened his eyes and looked at the women who took a step back after seeing his red eyes, "Leave me alone..." he said flatly glaring at them before he stood up and looked around himself the entire village was destroyed people were milling around picking things up, putting out fires here and there. Ward was shocked at the amount of damage he saw he didn't understand how it could have happened so fast, how an entire village could have been destroyed. who could have done this much damage alone, unless they weren't alone... the thought slipped through his head but he didn't comment on it nor let it go any farther he didn't remember seeing many people only water wielders a earth wielder or two one maybe two fire wielders and that was it how had his day gone from entering a lively water village to waking up to see it destroyed?

He moved over to a elderly woman who was struggling to lift some rubble up, a yowling could be heard from under the pile and his hand reached down picking the rubble up and a black blur darted out of the pile and up onto the roof. the old woman dropped the peace of rock and turned around her hands held up towards the roof as she cooed for the cat to come down, Ward just left her not wanting to get involved in any of the dealings of the town folks repair. He moved through the rubble with ease trying to determine where the explosion started so that maybe just maybe he could figure out what caused it, maybe someone hit a gas pipe? he doubted it but it could be possible.

Samiel Kalba
Breathing deeply where he lay, Samiel decided nobody was coming for him so he might as well help himself. With a deep growl he began absorbing the rays of the sunlight as it shone, the problem with this was that it created a light colored cone around the suction due to the change. In a few short minutes he had gathered enough power to let it flood through his system burning away infection and warming areas to speed healing. He carried on in this way for a good half an hour until he finally managed to stagger to his feet spitting blood into the water next to him, now that he was up he walked shakily to an abandoned tree stump and sat down placing his head in his hands and feeling the scratch of the Dragon's tear now connected to him. The first thing that came to mind were search and rescue and therefore he would have to think up a disguise that would carry him into the village with least notice.

He thought deeply for another quarter of an hour as his body continued to slowly restore him to a partially functioning human, an idea struck him while thinking and he stood up with the aid of a tree branch. With its help he began combing the beach for any usable wreckage, he hit the jackpot after a while finding one of the uniforms and spears he remembered the guards to have worn and just his luck they had masks so he would be practically invisible. Retreating back into the forest he struggled into the uniform with many yelps of pain and tightening of fabric coming out at the end looking like a wounded guardsman. Now he made his way to the village and slipped into the panicked mass of people looking for loved ones while he was ironically looking for their killers.

Sitting down after a few minutes his breathing was heavy having still not fully recovered from his injuries, leaning on the spear he had carried he put a hand under his mask to wipe his sweating brow and thats when he saw her poking her head out of one of the few still standing houses "Lana" he thought quickly getting up and limping over to the house, as he drew closer he waved to her and lifted his mask very slightly so she could catch a glimpse of his face. Finally reaching her he leaned against the door of the house breathing hard again "Good to see you still alive Lana." he panted sliding through the open door and sinking on the floor before pulling off his mask and letting out a small groan of pain as it shot through his damaged body
