Now having stowed the latest events into the bank of his memory, Tidus could once again see without visions clouding his eyes. It would be a temporary solution to a bigger problem, but for now he welcomed it. He was learning quickly that the world did not revolve around his individual needs. He was always taught that as a child, but could have never prepared himself for the constantly spinning wheel of life. The male remained alert as they walked through the forest, and he came to a brief stop by the direction of Selene.
He would have protested, but the conviction in the dryad’s voice led him to consider otherwise. He smiled, realizing that she, too, had recovered from the recent events. All of the sudden, and unexpectedly, Tidus felt an invigorating pride swell in his chest. It may not have been like the great heroes of old, but he and Selene had stood up to evil and came out standing on the other side relatively healthy.
It was then that his attention was brought to his newest wound. He had not realized it until Selene had brought it up. It was amazing how even without site she could see his wounds. Tidus tapped the torn flesh of his shoulder and winced.
“Ow.. that does smart a bit, now that you mention it.”
He laughed softly and reached into his leather pouch attached to his belt. He had already used a majority of his bandages, but there was enough to cover his shoulder with at least a single layer. He followed Selene’s steps, trusting that she would take him as far as she possibly could. Tidus began to stretch the roll of bandage around his shoulder and bicep. His gaze lifted for a moment when she responded to his earlier question. His smile brightened after she elaborated further. Tidus halted his stride for a moment, allowing her words to sink in. There was such a poetic beauty to her reasoning. He could not help but to admire her. In a quite voice he spoke mostly to himself.
“A Dandelion.. I can do that…”
The blue-haired elf jogged a few strides to catch back up to her. They were approaching the limits of the forest. From there it was a clear shot to the city gates. The tall Madoran Wall was starting to make its way into site.
