So Aang was in fact granted a new bending ability at the end of Avatar. The bending of one's energy. With the episodes Beginnings this was made all the more clear. So now every avatar will have the ability to energy bend as well. This explains why Korra is able to restore people's bending abilities too. She must also have the ability like Aang to take it away too and has not learned it yet. I wonder how far energy bending can be taken too.

I also wonder what other abilities the lion turtles had to offer.
