I've had that happen. The first time I ever saw a shiny, I didn't know what it was so I was going "... wow, the colors looked all weird. I really need to put the game up for the night |D;;" so I killed it. And found out sometime later there were such a thing XP

I did finally get my first shinies though when I got a wurmple (it evolved into an orange Dustox 8D ) and and a black Golbat. But I think those are the only ones I've had like ever |D;

Why can I never find shinies of the things I actually want on my team? XD
Like I bet if I spent hours wandering Granite Cave looking for a shiny Aaron, and they're like rats in the place really, knowing my luck a shiny would finally come up but its like one of the other pokemon you find in there XD
