For me, there are a number of reasons. Some hentai that I watch is purely "monkey-spank" material. Some is for research (I truly am trying to find a hentai anime that actually balances story and sex). Some is for entertainment, like laughing at bad translations (I found a few Yoda-like lines) or the refreshing appeal of someone who's willing to slap together a stupid storyline just get someone laid.
The rest... dare material. A buddy of mine and I get into these arguments and in the worst of them, we make a bet as to who is right. The winner buys a hentai anime for the loser to view. Most of the time, they aren't as bad as we thought (Dragon Pink, though stupid, wasn't as painfully stupid as I had hoped and Iron Virgin Jun was hardly what he'd expected), but we've found a few trully horrific ones, including one who's name is entirely in chinese, so we don't know what the hell to call other than "_THAT_ video". I won't go into details and you should thank me for that.
