I think it's more likely that people wouldn't take these classes if there was an option not to. They won't help an artist get better at art or a musician get better at music. The education system should have been enough to teach people these things before collage, but our education system is rubbish. I'm fine with these classes for people who want them, but they are of no use to me.

Maybe your personal tutors were just not good enough? Some people are better at teaching than others.

I don't feel like I have proved much of anything, but then again I've always been a pretty negative person.

I've been wanting to try taking classes for art, but the required classes like English and Math really put me off. I don't really get why they are a requirement.

Haha, that too! But nah I was talking about an issue with an artist that cancelled my com after waiting two months due to rl but then turned around and made an auction a couple weeks later to grab a lot of money quickly, their own words...and didn't say anything to me about offering art again. sweatdrop
