Style: Tenbu no Sai Niyoru Ken. Soujiro�s speed is 3 times that
of Kenshin�s. His speed is not God-like, it is God. He is so fast
that the only hint of him is the dents in the floor from his feet
moving at such a high rate.
Background: Soujiro has a very sad story. He was the product of
adultery (his father had an affair with a prostitute). In order
to cover the thing up a rice distribution family accepted him
as their son. However, when his real father passed away Soujiro
was abused horribly by the family. They were all often drunk and
beat him for the smallest things. Often times they would make
Soujiro carry the big heavy barrels filled with rice. Because
he was so young at the time (about 8 ) sometimes he would drop a
barrel and it would break open. This would earn him some very
bad beatings. Throughout the years of abuse Soujiro learned that
when he hid his emotions and just smiled, they would stop hitting
him. When he smiled it didn�t give them the fear and pain that
they fed off of. One night Soujiro witness a heinous murder of
some policemen by a figure wrapped in cloths. Once the figure
turned his attention to Soujiro he told him that he must kill him.
At this remark Soujiro just smiled at the man. Intrigued by this
the man (Shishio if you haven�t already figured it out) asked for
some food and new bandages. So, Soujiro ran off to get the things.
For the next several days Shishio hid out in the rice shed where
basically Soujiro only went. Soujiro told Mr. Shishio
(what he called him) about how his family beat him and the dumb
reasons why. In return Shishio shared some of his philosophies
with Soujiro. The most famous being �Only the Strong Survive. The
Weak Are Only Food for The Strong and They Have to Die�. Sooner or
later Shishio gives Soujiro his wakizashi and indirectly tells him
to go kill his family. Soujiro is scared by this so he hides the
wakizashi under the house. Well one night the family overhears about
the outlaw who was still in the area. His description was given as
�covered in bandages�. The father figure threatens Soujiro the next
day if he knows anything about it. Soujiro simply smiled and answered
�no�. The next night the mother figure walks into the room with the
rest of the family and asks where all of the bandages have gone. After
some thinking they all noticed the coincidence and were quick to
blame Soujiro. The whole family then tears outside and finds Soujiro
carrying one of the heavy barrels of rice as normal. Throwing the
accusations at him the 3 men of the family threaten to kill him. In
fear Soujiro runs under the house and finds the wakizashi where he
left it. One of the younger men crawls under the house to find him.
The rest of the family waited outside and heard the sound of sword
through flesh. Though when it was Soujiro who appeared from under
the house covered in blood they all screamed. Soujiro then quickly
killed the father, the other brother, mother, and daughter. After
murdering his adoptive family he stands in the now pouring rain and
smiles. However, the rain hid the tears that fell from his eyes.
Shishio appears from the shed and looks at the aftermath. He asks
Soujiro if he is crying and Soujiro simply smiles and says
�No Mr. Shishio�. It was then that Shishio decided to take Soujiro with him.
It is Soujiro�s �lack of emotion� that gives him the edge
in battle and in life itself. Kenshin uses his ability to read his
opponents emotions as his main strategy. But, along comes Soujiro
who even to Kenshin is impossible to read. A smile is always
plastered on his face no matter what the circumstance.
