Should also mention that the Hunger Games heavily parody American reality TV. Which has absolutely nothing to do with Battle Royale because reality TV wasn't a thing.

If the Hunger Games rips off anything. It's Greek myth and Roman gladiatorial games.

Um no. Maybe you should look into what you're criticizing before doing so? I know jumping on the bandwagon can be fun and all, but it makes you look silly. All the kids know each other in Battle Royale, they don't in Hunger Games. In the Hunger Games they're not even from the same area. (two kids are chosen amount the twelve districts that make up the country). This is mandatory viewing in the Hunger Games. It's not even televised in Battle Royale if I'm not mistaken. A stark contrast.

Battle Royale is always fought on an island. In Hunger Games, the "arena" is always a secret until the games. It be can any environment (forest, jungle, desert, water exclusive, tundra, any combination) There are also man-made traps and active meddling done by the organizers in the Hunger Games. Manipulated weather, mines, animals, etc. No such thing in Battle Royale besides the randomized forbidden zones.

In Battle Royale, most the world and it's modern nations are more or less intact. In Hunger Games, it's a dystopian future with no knowledge of the world outside North America's single country "Panem". Hunger Games takes place farther into the future than Battle Royale. Probably a couple hundred or thousand years.

Hunger Games, the games are there for the amusement of the Capitol and to keep the citizens from rebelling. This is taken from Gladiator games. Battle Royale, it's for research and to keep the citizens in line. Not really for pure amusement although the government is of course twisted. Hunger Games dresses up the kids before the battle for example, and gives them interviews and treats them as celebrities. Not so in Battle Royale. Where they're treated as trash.

Battle Royale, the kids escape to the U.S. In Hunger Games, they start rebelling again. The "Capitol" is a very distinct entity in the Hunger Games with major characters from it. The government in Battle Royale is a side-lined character at best.

Let's not forget the major difference, which is tone. Battle Royal is action and gore. Hunger Games is action, drama, romance. There are gruesome details in both books, but the actual games in the Hunger Games are not the focal point, unlike Battle Royale. The protagonist and her surroundings are. It's a case study about human endurance. Battle Royal doesn't dwell on Shuya's thoughts or experiences that often besides setting up his character and giving him motivation for his actions. Katniss's point of view is the Hunger Games' narration. It's all we're exposed to. The third book in the Hunger Games doesn't even have any games in it. It's the setup, not the main attraction. Whereas in Battle Royale, it's the main attraction.

As for originality. Stephen King did it with The Long Walk before Battle Royale. And "The Most Dangerous Game" did it before Stephen King. A tyrannical government forcing children to fight (Hunger Games actually forces adults and elderly to fight as well, but you wouldn't know that because you have no idea what you're talking about. Ignoring the differences and only focusing on the rare similarities) is not a new concept in any way shape or form. Saying "Battle Royale did it first hurrr" just makes you look like a try hard hipster who can't let other's enjoy whatever they want.

Aww i personally thing shizune's the best and she had a lot more potential. I really prefer Shizune's character over lilly's but thats me. and her family omg her family is a pain in the butt. But getting back to the writeres. if the person didn't want to do shizune either not include her or have someone else write it because its a big disappointment and I would be highly upset if i h ad to pay for the game.
