"How about wrestling your consciousness back into being enough that you might stop being a lamp?" She continued. Again, another loaded question. But all of her questions lead up to her next point. "Would you allow a stranger a small comfort when all they know is uncertainty?" It continued. Her voice was smooth and sweet, like buttermilk with sugar added, and yet she still managed to fit an edge to it. This creature presumed what she was was particularly easy. It was not easy to become something else, and it was even harder to find enough will as this new thing to become herself anew.
The shifter stood and turned back down the road, continuing her walk to the next place she might settle for a small while.
