About
The full moon bathed her in soft light as she sat on the edge of the rooftop of her apartment building. The breeze blew her long, blonde hair in front of her face. Growing tired of this, she pulled it back into a pony tail and zipped up her black hoodie. This is where she felt comfort in her solitude. Normally she went up there to embrace her thoughts, but this night, she went to forget.Tears rolled down her cheeks as she gripped onto the ledge tightly, gulping in the icy air. She had been beaten, stabbed, broken, burned, and poisoned before, but nothing hurt worse than losing the love her life.
"Demitri..." She whispered out to the night, not expecting a response.
She sighed and finally climbed down from the ledge back down to her balcony. That's what she liked about having an apartment on the highest level; no one could see her sneak up onto the roof if she did it from her balcony. Residence weren't allowed up there due to the fear of lawsuits from people jumping.
As she entered and shut the sliding glass door behind her, her little black kitten greeted her with a friendly meow. She wiped the tears away with the sleeve of her hoodie and picked the little guy up. "Oh Cerberus. I know you'd never leave me." She said as she rubbed him under his chin. He purred happily in response.
She set him down and picked up the cellphone off her bed that was vibrating. She answered. "Hello?"
"Rochelle," A deep, distorted voice answered, "It's time."
She took her pistols out from a dark, wooden box under her bed, and placed them in their respective holsters. Without another word or thought, she left the lonely apartment to seek her revenge.
