Yeah for sure. One of my teachers described rock as being blues on steroids, and it's totally true. So lucky that your pops is a musician!!! Mine *thinks* he can play guitar....

Ugh, I hear ya. But the talent is still out there, maybe even more than ever, but you never hear about them because they're not cool like Kanye or lady gaga lol Jazz in my opinion has some of the most amazing players on the planet and it's going strong, but again it's not good music to shake your a** to at the club, so no dice. Just gotta dig through the junk for the good stuff!
