Hm...what about something late at night? Might not give you much sleep but usually night shifts are nice. Depending that is.
And also depending on when you have to practice band.

If you keep looking you might get lucky, i mean you're only a year away and sometimes restaurants and some places cut kids some slack if they are really good workers.

Where exactly to do live? Being seventeen shouldnt really be a problem in America...unless you dont live here. Maybe its an excuse and its because you dont have experience? But i dont know if you do or not.

Oh, money trouble. Been there, still there.
Have you tried checking the newspaper and such? Usually people advertise jobs there. Or work at Wal Mart or something, McDonalds and the like.
