"I'm sure you do detective, but still you should be careful. Who'd take care of Marshmallow if something happened to you?"

Hold that tongue. The detective should know better than most that he was already too far down the rabbit hole even before all that. No need to rub it in and make him feel any worse. If he could still feel worse and not apathy. "I... I see. It is kind of a pity. Things get in the way, I suppose." Like bodies. "But I think the both of us have learnt something from it?"

"How ironic," he muttered. "I'm not supposed to be teaching you anymore."

"Alright then." She sighed, visibly relieved. She had no intentions to stop her work, obviously, but it wouldn't hurt to be a bit more careful. And to double-check that her doors were locked.

"That's a shame. I hope things smooth out for your department, soon."

"Rhea Byrne, Thanaturgist. Has a nice ring to it." She murmured, repeating it again. "No more warnings? Does that mean you're going to arrest me, detective?" She asked, grin fading.

"Well, if he wants to worry about something nonexistent, it's on him. Hard to find animal corpses before the scavengers during the winter, making work pointless."

"Like it needs to get worse. Makes the job harder when people keep throwing rocks through windows or try to set your house on fire, or worse, decide to take care of the necromancer themselves. Makes me wonder if I should start calling it something different again. Thaumatological Autopsist might be a term people are more familiar with now, but Thanaturgist might work..." The necromantrixed mused, the latter more to herself. "I'd hardly call working in the privacy of my own home, going behind someone's back. I'm a necromancer, I wouldn't be a proper one if I didn't practice my work."

"Well your boss has nothing to worry about when it comes to animal undead wandering. Especially during the winter months."

(I'd personally rather have a two week crash course or something. By the middle of the semester you're already praying that it'll end. And I'm kind of sick of always having to worry about what homework I have to do and not having any days to myself because those due dates are constantly hovering over my head.)

"Mostly just a bunch of idiots who think they can raise an undead army and gain themselves a position of power. They're the ones who give necromancers a bad name." Rhea shrugs again. "Well, I can't promise everything I'm doing here is legal, but I'm not doing it behind anyone's back."

"I like your niece's taste in names. Marshmallow's a great name for a cute little rat, living or not." The necromancer pauses for a moment, before laughing nervously. "Increased levels of undead animals in the area? I haven't been that active lately, most of my latest work had to be put down, and that which hasn't has been kept indoors, despite a small incident which was quickly taken care of. "

"My line of work is a dangerous one with much competition, detective. The traps are to deter would-be rivals from breaking in and stealing valuable research materials, or to deter people who try and get rid of necromancers." She shrugged. "I'm not trapping people to use them as experiments, if that's what you've been thinking." Her expression brightened considerably as she caught sight of the undead rat.

"...Marshmallow? You named it? Does that mean you're going to keep it?" She asked, her tone hopeful.

"Very well, but don't say I didn't warn you if you trigger a trap detective." The necromancer paused for a moment, listening to the door handle jiggle before unlocking it. "Now, if you don't mind me asking Detective; what were you even doing here in the first place?"
