Psh - a few seconds? I've figured out how to travel HOURS into the future. My machine is fairly simple, though it doesn't always work immediately. It's cushioned for the comfort of the time traveler and sits in my bedroom. Easy to operate as well. You just lay down, close your eyes and wait for it to charge.

The original version of the bible has been around much longer than all of the above. These other "bibles" was found later on and then used to create other religions. I am sorry, but anyone who honestly believes that you can be gay and go to heaven are SADLY mistaken. Seriously, come on now. Its in the old King James Version. Its the christian bible. How many people do I have to say this to? Atheism isn't a religion. We don't all agree with each other, but I can say with confidence none us follow a God of any kind. If you do, it kind of disqualifies you as an Atheist.

Guess what it all comes down to? Those two little words, that make us special:
Free Will
Everyone has thoughts about doing things that are destructive, or inappropriate, or in most cases illegal. Sometimes I see a situation where there is a lot of potential property damage...and it would be so cool to see it happen...but I would never actually do it. We, as human beings, have the option to not do things we would like to do, because they are either wrong, or we could get in trouble for them. As long as we choose to not act on our wants we are taking responsibility as an adult. Being a good person isn't about what or who you are, (or in this case what you think about) it's about the choices you make in life. Such as, choosing not to molest a child. Simple as that.

Finding the "Correct" Religion
Something I think a lot of people don't realize: 100% faith is dangerous. Very, very dangerous. You know what's more important then being right about life, god, etc? Being tolerant. It is so much more important, because it is healthier and safer for society. It doesn't matter what religion or belief people have, if they are so sure of themselves they will combine it with their violent nature to form a zealous attitude. Given such a "holy" excuse to commit crimes is more then enough for many to murder in the name of their god. Does anyone see the irony of people killing the name of Christianity, when Jesus was such a kind-hearted and forgiving soul? There is an essential difference between "They are wrong. Period.", and "They are probably wrong. I think I'm right." My point is, we shouldn't be concerned with finding the correct religion so much as teaching our children to be tolerant of other's beliefs, and to never be completely sure of their own. Questioning things is how we make progress in society and science. If we didn't question anything, we would will think that the earth was flat, and that the sun revolved around it. I believe what I do because I think I'm correct. But hey, I could always be wrong.
Patriotism and "Bashing" America
There is a big difference between "bashing" America and disliking what it's currently doing. I love this country for it's ideals and more importantly, it's potential. However, I am disgusted by it's current administration, leadership, and media system. As for what I'm doing to support the war effort, I find that a laughable question. Who says I support the war in the first place? One of the great things about America is that I don't have to agree with what it's doing as a nation, and in this case I don't. I'm supporting the war in my own way by protesting it. Having a vision of a better nation and speaking out about it is true patriotism, because you want to help your country be better.
Spanking kids as a punishment:
I've been seeing a few of these "beating/spanking your kids" threads around. Beating is an entirely different topic, but spanking I can speak from experience.
I got spanked as a kid, when I was little. So what? It was a harmless punishment. It hurt, but didn't do any physical harm. I haven't seen any arguments other then people saying "It hurts them emotionally". rofl
No, no it doesn't. As long as the child understands that it is punishment because of what they did, there isn't any lasting harm. You disagree with me? Show me some statistics. Until then, shut the hell up if you have no idea what you're talking about.
"Under God" In the Pledge of Allegiance:

The only reason to keep it is traditionalism, I would say.
This is the only reason I have heard towards keeping "under god" in the pledge. I took a debate class recently, and this is what we call an "Appeal to Tradition" fallacy. Just because it's tradition don't mean it has any special significance. The irony here, is that "under god" has only been in the pledge for 50 years. It's the newest addition of many.
So, why keep it? If the Pledge of Allegiance were just some private thing that a group of people shared as a motto, it would be no big deal. However, this is something of ours as a nation that we say. It has national significance, which means it is basically state sponsored. Kids have to say it every morning in public schools.
I really don't see how anyone who wants to keep it has a foot to stand on when it comes to arguing their side. No one's gonna die or suffer if we take it out, and it's time we did if we actually value separation of church and state.
