Been a while since I've done one of these, I figured it was about time I dropped into the profile for a visit. I've got to hand it to you Notes. You continue to surprise me even after this whole year and... however long past that it's been. It's funny, really; I usually categorize traits of a person based on how admirable the trait is or otherwise what they have in common with me, generally filtering into four categories; things I admire a person for and strive to learn myself, things I enjoy sharing in common with the person, things we both struggle with and, well things that I could just live without.
What puzzles me here, is that I've drawn up a little mental list going on, and there's not a whole lot of evidence on said list that says it's not too good to be true - that we're as close of friends as we are. The funny thing about that is well, it can't exactly be untrue, as what do you know - we are. And I wanted to thank you for that; true friends are a hard thing to come by these days.

I'm in a bit of a monologue mood, so please, bear with me. Lately I can't help but notice a lot of relatively awful stuff's been happening during the days, and despite that it appears I'm the only one you're willing to be open about all of it to, it's also dawning on my that there's coming to be less and less I can do to help, no matter how hard I try. In no way is this your fault, Notes. That's just how things are; new ugly things happen, the same old happy tactics get a little old and perhaps even irritating. But still, I'm not sitting back and letting all of a year (and a bit more) of an epic friendship deteriorate because I'm running out of options. You know how persistent I can be when I put my mind to it, and for crying out loud you're my best friend; you'd better believe I'm going to be trying.
Cookies, happy Kirby-faces, pokes, ASPLOSIONEY THINGS, nop/yop, random videos that are just stupid for how hilarious they are, gameplay videos that are pretty epic except for the lag in them, the hugs. I've tried 'em all, and I still feel like I'm coming up short of my goal. You know me; I don't let depressed friends stay depressed. There's something I can do, and I'll be honest; I have no idea what it is. But! Since when did that stop me? I'm a writer, for Pete's sake; it's my lot in life to come up with ideas, whether they work or not. All I can really ask is a bit of time to figure this one out. Just, hang in there alright? As no doubt a certain someone referenced to something I'm not sure of; "the night is darkest just before the dawn". Things will look up, I promise.

You know, for some strange reason I can't keep myself from saying it. At this point I have to declare there are six types of people in the world. There are (1) those who the moment they even think to say something you suddenly have the urge to do something else for the sake of getting away from them, there are (2) those people who make you want to explode after a while, or in certain cases kick in the shin, just because they're so awfully stupid and still kinda persistent about it. There are (3) those people that you have to submit are about average. Sadly that's not saying too much. There are (4) those people who make an effort at making people's lives actually better, and are quite often appreciated for it despite their flaws and failures. There are (5) those people you just want to run up to just to say "ohai" if given the chance because they're so awesome.

And most recently (6) there's you. Thank you, for being so great a friend to augment my tiering just to make you look not bad.

Monday, August 30, 2010 at 6:46 pm GST. Chance, circumstance, fortune and a lot of irony struck all at once. The moment I met you, Notes (Perhaps more accurately the moment I first noticed something entailing the existence of Notes-behind-the-mask). One year later, somehow or another, found the development of a friendship that consists of a massive creativity, a lot of beliefs relating to all reality (be it virtual, material or religious), common interest in several forms of expression, related hobbies, and in all likelihood several things I have either not thought of or outright neglected to bring up. So far ahead, I realize I've underestimated how fast things can change in a year, and for the pleasant surprise thereby demonstrated, I have to admit I'm astounded.
Thank you, for being such an outstanding friend this whole time.
