Sorry to ask, but do I know you? You've sent me a friend request, in case you don't remember.

Well, let's see...I transferred to a new college on the other side of the island. Luckily, an old friend from high school is here, too; she's been a big help. I'm also dorming here, which isn't so bad. My floor is rather empty, although the streets are a little noisy at night. I, uh...got a haircut recently (needed it), and...uh...well, I certainly managed to hang out with my friends during the summer, drama between my best friend and his now-ex-girlfriend notwithstanding.

Oh, learning to drive...my mother only lets me coast along a stretch of highway leading home. It's frustrating...because a blind twelve-year-old can manage that road. But, whatever...I'll learn to drive someday.

Wait, you're selling what?! PS1 games? Dude, don't do that! Which games are they? Don't you know how rare some PS1 games are?!

If you're going to sell them, do your homework; some games turn out to be pretty darn valuable to collectionists. I suggest hitting up EBay or Amazon to see just how much their 'street worth' is. Would you believe that Megaman X for the SNES regularly sells for $100? You run the possibility of making a good penny with the games you sell, depending on which ones they are. Even if they weren't 'great' games, people are looking for them. (Also, if you ask for it, some people are more than willing to pay shipping and handling). Of course, the condition of the games in question also weighs heavily on how much people will pay for them: are the discs scratched, is the original case intact, is the instruction book included, is the game the 'black label' version or the 'Greatest Hits' version (Sony re-releases games that sell 250,000 copies as a 'greatest hit')...these things come into factor. But, yeah, if you're not in a hurry, I suggest selling your unnecessary junk on the 'net. You'd be surprised what people are willing to pay...

Oh, no, I hate downloading. I get joked around with a lot because I don't download any anime at all. I used to, but I didn't download much by the time I stopped. Now, if I want it, wait until I can buy it. It's not the same, having something on your computer and having it on your shelf. Say what you will (it's cheaper, it's a good back-up copy, the companies are thieves, whatever), I won't download something. I haven't downloaded an anime episode in over two years, and I haven't downloaded manga or read any online in three. I have even less tolerance to downloading books; not everyone gets as rich as J.K. Rowling at writing, you know. How can you claim to be a fan of something...if you won't reward the creator of it with a few dollars for his effort?

Me, get money? Eh...I don't quite like that. My mother usually just buys me what I ask her for Christmas or my birthday. It's a little embarrassing, because I am quite independent with my money, and I don't like it when other people buy games for me...I could buy them myself, if I wanted to. If I don't have money for something, then that's my problem. I'll have to wait until I can afford it. Life isn't about the haves and have-nots, after all. Or something like that; I like waiting for things. I had more fun waiting for Yggdra Union back in '06 than I did playing it, and I had fun with Yggdra Union. Also, I'm a collectionist at heart, so unless it's something I really regret buying (like my FLCL manga, my Disgaea manga, my two volumes of Bleach, my Vampire Knight manga, or The Vision of Escaflowne manga), I won't sell it. In the aforementioned cases, I'd kill to give them away...

Oh, you've really been missing out. Charlie Chaplin is incredible! The loss of one sense usually leads to the advantage of another. Besides, those movies aren't mute; the music alone speaks volumes.

Oh, you saw Animal Farm? Darnit, you lucky little...! Think of it this way: it's a fable, but it has real-world lessons that mainly deal with communism and revolutions. Man, am I glad I got that book...I still wish I could have
gotten 1984. It's supposed to be really good, but I don't know what it's about, like Dune. If only there were more bookstores in my area....but, then, how would I buy my games? There're too many cool things to buy! >_<
Then again, I could stand to hold off on buying games. I ought to save up cash to buy more anime during Christmas.

Hey, silent movies aren't bad! Haven't you seen any Charlie Chaplin movies? They're really quite good; I recommend 'Modern Times'--not only is it funny, it's also quite thought provoking.

I'll read anything that comes my way, really. I tend to have a preference to fantasy and horror, though, seeing as Stephen King seems to be the most I buy of. I've also got a bit of science fiction, with Kurt Vonnegut. I wanted to get 1984 the last time I went to Borders...but I decided to be cheap and got Animal Farm instead. I also really want to read Dune; I don't know much about it, other than the fact that it's good.

(Quick, find a conversation topic, my responses are getting shorter! 0_o)

Romantic comedies are the same, too; it doesn't matter if the woman is just another cynical single or a successful single worker, it turns out her life isn't complete unless she marries the guy she's always fighting. It's not only that, it perpetuates the myth that women can't be fulfilled unless they get married. Some people are just dedicated to their jobs. Like musicians! It's pointless to marry a musician, because their first love will always be their music, no matter what. Besides, who'd believe that a down-and-out go-getter, professional chef would decide to hold everything in her career just because of some guy who flips her world around? Nonsense.

Oh, the Mist had a messed up ending! It was great! If you didn't see it, I recommend it; it's probably the first great horror movie made in a long while. Spoiling it would be doing it injustice. Just know that Stephen King loved it; how many authors end up liking movie adaptations of their work? ^_^

Oh, I think I heard about that...I'm surprised that they made a silent movie so recently! You'd think they'd be filling it chock-full of CGI...

I recently bought a huge tome of H.P. Lovecraft stories; it was leather-bound, and it's based on the Cthulu series. I've got that book on hold, though--I've got a few others I want to read first.

Oh, how weird....my new college isn't that safe, though, from what I was told. It's a great college, make no mistake, and it's huge, but it's right smack-dab in the middle of the metropolitan area; there are a few seedy areas around there. What's worse, burglars have sneaked into the on-campus dorms and stolen before; two girls got raped last semester, I hear. I'm not planning on taking my laptop with me to my new college...until I have to...

Oh, I know how you feel with horror stories...they're not horror, they're gore porn. I mean, look at Hostel. Look at P2. Just random gore. We need more Stephen King movies; The Mist was horror done right. Even HE liked the movie version. Better yet, they should make a movie of 'The Call of Cthulu'. That would be awesome...

Great, now I'm worried because my comment is too short...

That said, I'll be around a bit more in the following week; I'm at my Grandma's while Mom is on a trip to Santo Domingo! ^_^
